So, I forgot my pattern lock, have WIFI off (can't turn it back on because I can't goto settings), have usb debugging off. My phone is Lava Iris 455, and is rooted.
I tried signing in, but it just keeps showing invalid username/password (I can sign in perfectly well on my pc).
All my data is on my phone(no sd card).
Is there a way I can get my phone back to normal without doing a factory reset?
I have made too many attempts at the pattern lock screen, and now it just shows the login screen. Will the pattern screen come back after a day or two? If no, is factory reset the only option I have?
Thanks.

Try asking in the xda general q&a section, since i doubt there is a dedicated forum for your device.

Basically, my galaxy nexus has recently been updated to 4.2. during the update i disabled my screenlock.
Yesterday I just reailsed I have had no screenlock and decided to enable it again (the same pin as previously used)
But when I woke up this morning I found that I am unable to unlock my phone using the pin that I set. It keeps saying "Wrong PIN.".
I am sure I put the correct pin, but then i just recalled when I set my pin yesterday, my typing keyboard was shown when setting my password instead of the digits only keypad.
I suspect that the screenlock might have bugged and I am now locked out from my phone.... the only thing I can do is change volume, answer calls and make emergency calls.
Internet access remains active and I am still receiving android apps updates, whatsapp and emails etc (but cant access them of course)
Is there any way I can reset my screenlock pin??? Perhaps through my web based google account or something? Or can google doing anything remotely to help?
If i cant reset my screenlock and has to factory reset, is there anyway i can backup my files / photos exactly to my PC via usb????
My phone uses stock rom (UK vodafone) and has not rooted.
any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
There is a way, but only if you've set up developer mode and allowed usb debugging.
Otherwise, plug it into your pc, get your data off it and do a factory reset from recovery.
Unless stock recovery allows adb? Which you could check. If yes, there is a file that keeps your pin information. Just delete that file and you're all set.

Pattern lock attempts are over.
Asking for google account.
I know my correct username/pass.
But my wifi and data services are off.
As i read you do not need internet for this. but still when i enter correct details it just comes back to sign in screen.
USB Debugging is off , so can i use file manager in recover mode to delete gesture.key.
To install filemanager in recovery mode i need CWM ? how do i install when usb debug is off.
How do i get the pattern lock bypassed ?
These I do not answer, because there is a possibility of the phone not being yours, sorry.
Somehow my password pattern is suddenly not detectable and it shows as wrong password. As there is no more option in lollipop for "forgot password" and using the gmail account to log in. How do I reset the password on a HTC M8 without doing a reset? I've tried logging into the google account, and I can use the "find" option in the device manager to locate the device, but if i press the "lock" button and try to enter a new password, for a split second it says "We have sent a lock request to the device", but then it says "Since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered won't be needed." Wtf is going on? I am stuck with a pattern locked phone of whose password i know but the phone doesnt detect it anymore. Is there another way to reset the password?
No replies?
Well.......
Let me start by saying that this is a delicate matter, what if the device is stolen and somebody wants to get the info or device to work without wiping it. I know that this is probably not your intention and that it is hard to prove otherwise. But the possibility could be there in the worst case scenario !
Now don't get the above personal, it's written from another point of view, as i am running HTC phones for the past 6 years and never encountered this all of a sudden at any point. So from my point of view i find it difficult to believe.
To get to your point ...... not sure if it can be done otherwise but to reset the device. Depends if it's rooted or not for instance ?
Cheers

According to the story, looks like either : 3rd party apps are interfering (can also be malware/virus) OR someone physically got hold of the device and changed the password(perhaps he thinks its his own)
Try restarting the device while holding the volume up button only, android will go into safe mode and disable all 3rd party apps. If the password still doesn't work, then you have 2 options:
1) if S-ON : factory reset and lose all user data
2) if S-OFF or bootloader unlocked: remove password (this is the most details I can give without being an accomplice)
Greetings everyone.
Well, i come here after reading all threads i found about breaking screen lock password.
What can I say... nothing works...
But let's start from begginig. My younger sister was going home asleep and she changed her screen lock password (she loves to do it). As always, she wroted it on some piece of paper, but unfortunetly she lost it.
I've tried to unlock it by adb, but my sister never turns debugging mode on, so i tried and tried and also rooted phone, but when i write "adb shell rm /data/..." i always get "error: closed".
Is it any way to delete screen lock password with USB Debugging disabled?
The data from phone is very important, so wipe data/factory reset is not an option.
EDIT: well, i would be thankful for instructions for "retarded" person - any pointing all operations i must do and sny links to programs i must have will be helpful.
Hi,
I have stock Marshmallow on my LG G4 and it somehow just stopped responding. At the startup there is an "android.com.phone stopped working" popup. After clicking OK, it dissapears and the phone doesn't respond for any unlocking attempts. After triple tap, the "magnifying lense" works and thats basically it. Before performing a factory reset I would like to get my data(photos, videos, possibly messages) backed up. But after connecting USB cable it is connected with "Loading only" option. I can't change it to mass storage or MTP. The phone works in background, I can see once in a while new notifications about updating apps etc. I tried using Safety Mode, same things happen.
Is there a way to change USB option remotely or perform a reset without losing all data? Since I never used USB debugging on this phone, I assume it is disabled.
Thanks for any help.
