[Q] Turn off Burst Mode? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

is it possible to turn off burst mode? i'm so used to just holding the shutter button until it focuses and takes the pic, but the default is to take a bunch of pictures in a row if you hold that button... anyone know of a way to turn off burst mode unless you want it on...

certainly seems like it would be that easy doesn't it...
you know what though. and i swear i checked all thru every camera option i could find, there was no option to turn off burst mode... UNTIL i inserted an sd card. now there's a burst mode option that i could just turn off and sure enough that works. who knows. all good now though.

How to get rid of shutter sound?

How do i get get rid of the shutter click?

Have not found a way - only thing you can do under sound settings change it to vibrate or silent... if in silent obviously you won't hear the phone ring, notifications, etc.
You can try this:
http://androidforums.com/viper-4g-lte-all-things-root/632186-guide-disable-shutter-sound.html
Don't know if it works...
Isn't there a setting in the camera settings? Shutter sound is the setting you can turn off in the camera.
Depends on country and laws, for example in korea camera will shutter even if you set silent mode and put headphones in.
So the only way is delete the shutter sound, which is kinda illegal

if you have root. you can just replace the sound file in the apk. with a 0 byte or null sound file.

Open build.prop in any text editor. There scroll down to "ro.camera.sound.forced=1"
Change that value from 1 to 0 like this "ro.camera.sound.forced=0"
Now open camera and go to sound option, "Off" option will be there. :good:
Just to add, on a Telus' E973, you won't get the "off" option, but if you put the phone to "silent" mode, you won't have any shutter sound after changing the build.prop.

Screen/Vibration issues

My phone all of a sudden is acting weird.
My vibrate doesn't work for the bottom buttons, the back and menu buttons.
My phone screen image shakes, or shutters, slightly and dims the brightness automatically.
I have checked the vibration settings. The automatic brightness isn't checked in the browser. I'm pretty worried though about the screen shaking. These all seem to be combined somehow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you enabled power saving mode? Disable it if so.

Aosp camera "smart capture"

What is "smart capture" option in the camera settings?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
From my knowledge if you put your thumb over it and quickly take it off it'll trigger the camera shutter. I don't like it personally so I choose to keep it disabled.

Isn't that how you normally take a picture? I mean how many different ways to we need to snap a pic.

My bad, I meant over the lens. So for example, while getting my camera ready I would accidentally snap a pic because my hand would go in front of the lens for a second.

Camera App on Slim Bean

Was looking through the settings in the camera app that comes with the slim bean rom. What do the following options do:
Smart Capture
True View
Power Shutter
Not really sure what those settings enable/disable.
Any help with the explanation of those would be great
Thanks.

Power shutter is really exactly what it says. Select it, reboot and your power button is now a button to take pictures.
Smart capture is also neat. Here's a video of it working.

I don't know about True view, my guess is it's for the front camera, it'll show you what the picture will look like, not a mirror and than flip it in processing. Just an educated guess though.

I know it is an old thread. But, in case still you haven't read about it:
TrueView faq from slimrom.net
True view is a camera feature to show the whole field of view of the camera.
By default the field of view is stretched and cut on the sides to fit fullscreen.

Anybody know of a way to use the s-pen to take a photo from a distance?

Title says it all. I'm not sure exactly how the s-pen works, but it has a little button so it seems feasible. I have done a cursory search for ways to do this, to no avail. It would make taking selfies so much simpler....
I use the volume keys to take selfies. With the spen Ive never heard.

If you are using the stock Samsung camera, use "Remote Shutter" Mode, then you can use your Stylus' button as a shutter button. Press to focus, hold to take pictures.

ditto...where is this magical mode? screenshots please!!:good:
stock Samsung app, not Google camera app.
why dont you just write where to find it?
Just looked in the Stock App (yes the samsung one) and cant find anything even remotely close to "remote shutter"
I only have the stock Google camera, I can't find a working .apk for the Samsung camera anywhere. I read something about it not being compatible with frameworks other than TW, but I'm using JediX ROM, which is a TW based ROM...if I remember correctly. Regardless, I would be ecstatic to see this fabled app.
ahaha you guys all got trolled.
Wacom technology can not detect the stylus more than 1 or 2 cm away.
