If you're trying to get Google Wallet to work on the GS III, Recognized Developer loserskater modded the new Google Wallet to allow Tap and Pay to work. It works fine on my GS III running AOKP ROM.

Also if you flash the old version in the at&t thread then get the wallet xposed app you can just download from the play store and keep up with the latest wallet updates with any further modding.

So to get this straight; the wallet app that's downloaded directly from the play store, even though I can set it up and access my account in it, won't allow tap to pay without modding it?

The PlayStore Wallet app will only allow tap and pay on certain carriers and devices. TMobile is not one of these supported carriers.

Do you use the PlayStore Wallet app or a hacked/modded Wallet app? Or did you change the build.prop file to fool the Wallet app? I wouldn't think Wallet would work thru the normal way on TMobile.

Yeah I modded the build.prop, flashed the NFC fix file and a older hacked version of Google wallet. Then I go in and set it up. After its all set before changing the build.prop back I installed the xposed wallet patcher. Rebooted my phone ran wallet once again, then went into the market and downloaded the latest version. When that's done I changed my build.prop back to stock and rebooted once again.
Now I have the newest version of wallet through the play store and it will update through the play store when there is a update. Tap to pay still works fine. I should add I am running Dandroid, it is a touchwiz based ROM. That is why I needed the NFC fix file also. Aosp won't need the nfc fix.

Okay so there was an update for google wallet so I downloaded it hoping it would work with our phone (it didn't of course) anyways when I opened it it asked for root access from super user. I thought it was very strange any thoughts?

What do you want clarified? You can download it from the market, but it doesn't work.

You can download it from the market but it currently doesn't work with our device. Anyway it asks for root permission when you open
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
It won't ever work in this phone
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
The reason why Google wallet asks for SU permissions is because it wants to know if you are rooted or not. If you are, whether you allow or deny root access then all it gives you is the "unsupported device" notification.:

Yeah, didn't they require some 'secure element' chip that our phones didn't have or did they work around that and I just missed it?

Funny. I ran a log cat while attempting to activate Google Wallet and got:
D/NFCJNI ( 767): > Number of Secure Element(s) : 1
D/NFCJNI ( 767): phLibNfc_SE_GetSecureElementList(): SMX detected
ROM: CM10, Nightly, 8/14/12
I always get the set up screen for Google wallet every time I flashed a new ROM ...don't u guys!?

Yes. Only because you need to use RootExplorer to edit the build.prop
It's working for me, but takes a while to create the Google prepaid account after everything is done, so be patient!
Use this build prop tweeks keeps your samsung specific apps working as well as alow google wallet to work.
ro.product.model=SPH-L710
ro.product.name=d2spr
ro.product.device=d2spr
Does anyone have this working for the new version of the app that lets you add any credit/debit card? I can't find it anywhere on the forums.
EDIT
NVM, do this T-Mo users:
edit your build.prop settings to this:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro

Has anyone tried OTA Rootkeeper on the Note 3? Does it work at UN rooting and preserving?

Your better solution to this might be with SuperSU pro mode.
As for OTA Rootkeeper:
Due to changes in 4.3 security implementations, OTA RootKeeper cannot work to 4.3 updates.

Sorry, didn't know that was your goal. I don't use Isis and don't plan on it.
Waiting for Google wallet to come out with software secure element instead of hardware secure element which Samsung blocks. Stupid to have different wallet systems especially if you own and use multiple Android devices.
There are a few other apps which say they will do that, but not worth mucking things up playing with them for something I'm not going to use.
Yeah, I'm hoping for that too. Was just going to try Isis to see if it would work or not.

Assuming you have a Chase or AMEX card, you would have to un-root to use it. If you don't have those cards, you can't really use it anyway.
I already have Google Wallet on my other devices, don't need more than one system. And I really don't use that much either.

You can try to use Xpose framework, and the module Isis root bypass. That gives you access to use Isis without a problem, assuming you have a credit card issue by Chasse or Amex.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Gave this a try.... the above didn't work.
However, I did find something that has worked. I've done everything outside of actually paying for something.
1. Download XPrivacy.
2. Enable it in Xposed Installer.
3. Reboot
4. Open XPrivacy find ISIS in the programs.
5. uncheck all the boxes except Shell (commands, superuser).
6. close XPrivacy
7. Open ISIS and setup.
All these steps are assuming you are rooted and have given access to all the apps from above steps. Otherwise ISIS works if you are not rooted anyway. Hope I helped.

Will this allow setting up non Chase/Amex cards?
It will not allow just any card like Google wallet, but it will now let you enroll or setup an existing American express serve (reloadable) card now.

You installed xposed, restarted, installed the rootcloak module, restarted, added the app and restarted? You have to install the xposed app then install the framework from inside the app, then restart.
