Anyone?
Maybe someone wants to sell their "brick"?

Dash 3g LCD
From what I'm hearing, the LCD for the Dash and the Dash 3g are the same thing.
Should be easy to find -

Can anyone else confirm it? Any guides/step by step on how to do it? I assume I will still need to get a housing
First off, it would be good to know what exactly happend to your phone. Like, what kind of accident. I may be able to help you with the issue of getting the phone apart.
I have the US Sprint version of this (s511 HTC Snap) and have a cracked screen from a drop to the floor. There are dash replacement screens on ebay for $15-$30, but ot find any confirmation that it for sure is the same one. There are instructional videos on youtube as well. I haven't done it yet, also waiting for confirmation that the dash lcds are okay.
Just dropped my Dash 3g this morning and am looking for the same info. Dammit! Should have gotten the insurance!
i would also like to know if the gash screen is the same as the dash 3G to repair a phone.Anyone know? Thanks
Bump, I would also like to know. It'd be nice to snag one up from ebay and replace the screen P:
Hi
does anyone know if they are the same? Cant find any replacement screens for sale on ebay.

I'll fix your HTC phone or provide parts
Hey guys. I have gotten alot from this website so I would like to give back. I own and operate a mobile phone repair shop and would like to extend my services to this forum. Most of you seem pretty techical so even if you just want the part (microphone, ear speaker, Loud speaker, LCD) I will provide it for you at a low cost plus shipping of course. I mostly deal with hardware issues so please don't PM me or post asking about software, I am a total noob when it comes to that!
Thanks again to all the rom builders and contributers who have helped make my phone awsome!

Screens and Repair Video Available
First, to answer one of the questions asked previously in this thread: This is not the same screen as the original Dash. The LCD itself might be but the connector is very different and the two are not compatible.
However, there are now several places online selling these. Just do a Google search for "t-mobile dash 3g lcd part only" and you'll find some people selling these. Note that they're quite a bit more expensive than the original Dash screens. That should change over time, though.
There's also a video of this repair on YouTube. You should be able to find that by doing a YouTube search for "Dash 3G Repair". This is actually a pretty simple repair (even easier than the original Dash) so if you're a little handy this shouldn't be too tough.
Anyone knows exact part number of screen? (Manufacturer and part number)
thanks.
DASH 3G parts
My just out of warranty Dash's trackball broke, I tiried to fix it myself and succesfully opened the dash3g, no good to me now so if someone wants a parts dash with no trackball I might be interested in getting rid of it, wend back to DASH 1 until I can get a Win 7 phone from MSFT .....
Well I know this sounds strange, but My original box fell victim to a leaky roof, and now, I need a new one to maintain appearances (plus I liked the look and items...) Is there any place that sells everything(Galaxy Sleeve, Box, headphones, instructions, inserts, charger + cable [if possible]) without having to buy the phone itself again?
I recently caught an auction on Ebay, but didn't make it on time... so I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere else I could maaaaybe find one?
I already tried asking the store I bought it from for a replacement...no deal. Same with my nearby T-Mobile outlet. At least they gave me half a box with nothing in it...
Just curious, but how much did the box go for on ebay? Do you care if it's sprint/att/Verizon /etc?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I stopped watching it after $55. The sleeve was red and with everything brand new except, of course, the phone.
I'd like it tI be T-Mobile, but if that wasn't possible, I would'nt mind any as long as it was complete and like new.

oh man. i only have the box. lol
I still have the box that mine came with including headphones, earbud squishys, and all that good stuff... PM me if you are still looking for one and we can work out a deal =)
Still looking for one, if possible...
@shinigenEddy Sure. Sent you one. Let me know what you think.

If it doesn't work out with him I have a mint white box with unopened headphones and an open charger and cable, and the manuals/papers that came with it, I would be up for selling or trading for a nice heavy duty case if you have one
Okay guys, I literally just got my phone last night and boy do I love it! But I've just noticed an issue with it already and I just wanted to see if others have had it as well. Heres a few pictures. Ive got a slight issue in that I ordered it from the US, but I live in New Zealand. Heres hoping I have some sort of warranty
Some input from users would be nice!
Cheers,
Call HTC or the place you bought it from. One should be able to accommodate you.

ya man that is not normal at all. I'm pretty sure they have a warranty over this, just give them your pictures along with your order information.
Yeah well I contacted HTC and because it is a US phone it's gonna cost me $100 to get it shipped to Taiwan to be repaired as local New Zealand stores will not cover it.
It's a real pain in the ass. I could get it replaced by Amazon but then I have to ship it to someone in the US to ship to Amazon to replace it .and then get it shipped back to me as they will not replace it if I ship it directly to them.
I literally just got this phone last night and so disappointed that it just happened to be one of the unlucky phones. :'(

Man that sucks
You can always try self repair.
That is cosmetic part only. If you see iFixit teardown, that strip is basically held down by simple glue. You can take it all out carefully (use hair dryer to soften rest of the glue). Make sure that stripe is straight. If it isn't, make it straight and put it back on using fresh glue (dont use super glue, use hot melt adhesive minimally, spread it using match stick or something small on the back of the strip. Or you can use any water based adhesive that dries to clear finish).
It is not that difficult repair job. You can always take help of local repair shop. This is rather simple fix.

I have the same with mine, but not that bad.
It's quiet simple to repair with super glue and one razor. You just have to put a very tiny bit of glue in the razor and spare it, but be carefully to do not split glue over the screen or the camera!
I'm just watching mine, if it gets worst I'll try to fix, but seems to be same since I bought it.
This sort of tampering results in a warranty void though doesn't it? I'd be really keen to try it out. But then if something really bad does happen to my phone I wanna be able to fix it. Haha man if only everything was just perfect

My phone has the exact same issue. Does not seem to get worse, but over a span of a year or two I could see that peeling off substantially more. It is held on by simple adhesive, I'm put off by the issue but then again it is an easy fix.

Can you not replace yours either? I'm tempted to fix it, but I dont want to void the warranty if its needed. This is covered under warranty I assume? Since its happening to multiple people it should be anyway! Itll cost me $99 if I wanna replace it since I bought it from Overseas. I could get a free replacement from Amazon but that requires the US address to send it to. Any trustworthy people out there?? haha

Grizraz, did you eventually repair it yourself or did you send it in? My friend bought an m8 and has this problem as well. She's going to bring it back to the carrier to see if they can do something for her. Otherwise she might go the warranty route. I'm considering helping with the repair because it seems easy..
Everyone else who repaired it themselves.. Was it easy?

I took the phone to the local Sprint dealer, a mall kiosk, they never heard of this happening and simply referred me out to some support number. I have not attempted to fix it yet, will post when I do with photos etc. Hopefully if someone else fixes it, they will do the same
First off, sorry if this is the wrong section, I think it might be. I've done a lot of searches and can't find an answer for this. I got a s4 and it has been great but now it is showing a slight screen burn in out of nowhere. My husband has the premium headset protection bundle and i was going to give him this phone as a gift, now I wonder if he can use his insurance to get that defective screen fixed or replaced or the device swapped out because it really sucks. or is that insurance only for an old device or I don't know, I tried reading the booklet but I'm confused. and will there be a deductible? My friend said it is only $5 shipping but I'm not so sure.. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know.

If you got it from t-mobile and it is still in warranty then you should be fine and it should only cost you $5, the headset protection you are talking about only covers the phone you take the protection with..... But in any case it is still worth a try, just don't mention any thing about your phone being out of warranty. I got mine swapped for $5 even after 14 months

Hey folks,
Dropped my AT&T LG G3 (running on Cricket) on it's side from about 4ft and it hit a rock and chipped the very side of the phone (right side) and now most of the screen doesn't respond to touch (but does display).
I have a few options:
1) Replace screen or rather try to (looks to be about $70)
2) Spend $150+ on a used phone on Craigslist or EBay (might as well put that $70towards a temp phone)
3) Buy a cheap phone from T-Mobile and put my SIM in it...something like this: http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/lg-optimus-f3-certified-pre-owned.html
4) Buy a new phone and upgrade from the G3 (might as well put that $70towards the purchase of a new phone)
Problem is, I was planning to get the G4 when it's released...so trying to avoid spending too much money or specifically number 4 as then I'll be stuck with a new phone that I don't really want. If I buy, say, an S6 and use it for a month...do you think I can recoup all if not most of the money I spent on it? I'd be buying it off contract.
What would you do? I'm a systems engineer, so I'm pretty good with hardware, but from my Googling replacing the screen looks to be more hassle than it's worth. Anyone know of a place I can get a cheap GSM phone so I can at least text/call people?
Thanks!
Nevermind, I think I'm just going to deal with this phone now that I found this amazing app called Mobizen.
It allows me to control my phone in it's full glory from my Windows PC. I can deal with this for a month or so until the G4 is released. AWESOME.

I definitely recommend this. Works with my LG G3 connected via USB (debugging on) flawlessly.

i) Look in your drawers, you must have an old phone hanging about.
ii) One of your friends will have an old phone, stuck in a drawer, somewhere, to tide you over.

Hahah, snail mail. I'd die, lol.
See my post above though, I found a solution that will hold me over for the next month or so until the LG G4 is released. Works beautifully.
I dont think that digitizer for G3 costs that much. If screen would be compleately kaput then full screen (lcd, digitizer,Gorilla Glass) is about 140eur + work.
id say fix the phone and sell it . you get more money out of it . also g4 will be very expensive at launch .
maybe find a g3 with mb problems and take the whole screen from it .

I ended up buying a screen on EBay for like $65 USD and replaced it myself. The old adhesive isn't holding as well as I'd like so I'll probably redo it eventually, but everything else works perfectly. I'm a systems engineer and have extensive hardware repair experience, but Google/iFixIt made it sound like the job was so much harder. Honestly? It was a f'in piece of cake. I could do it in my sleep.

How does it works after a month or so? Still fine? I'read many of these 65~70$ screens doesn't really have the same quality as OEM, and are less responsive and more "sticky"...

I have the G4 now so I haven't used the G3 in a while. It's at home in another state while I'm working elsewhere, so can't really answer. But in the time I had it, it was fine.
