Background: Purchased day One and HTCDev unlocked. I ran the Hyperdrive ROM most of the time. Last week I switched to the Ecliptic ROM and ran it for a few days with no major problems.
Problem: On Sunday evening I looked down at my phone and had a little SIM icon on the status bar and no service. Wifi still worked, just no carrier service (data or voice). I rebooted into recovery and reinstalled the ROM without doing any wipes and service was restored. However, I decided to switch back to my backup of Hyperdrive. Everything was fine until about a half hour ago when it went back to no service.
Troubleshooting: I've tried reflashing the ROM without a wipe, with a wipe, flashing a different ROM, all with no success. I'm currently attempting to restore a backup but don't expect anything different.
Plea for help: If you have any suggestions, thoughts, crazy ideas, please share. I'd hate to have VZW replace it and loose my unlocked bootloader.
UPDATE: So I'm delightfully surprised. After doing a restore, my signal is back. I'm very happy about this but now that it's happened twice I'm freaked out that it will happen again. Please share any theories you have.
Same problem
I have my phone unlocked and I've been trying to install new roms onto my phone and every rom i put on i have no service( data voice everything) I've been doing complete wipes, of data, cache, even wipe davike cache.
I've tried CM. and others all same problem no service. I have no idea what I've been doing wrong i follow all the instructions and same thing happens. (I've tried to find service with the phone and it says no sim found enter sim) I also found out my phone is a M7ul which is apparently a GSM (I thought was weird because its a verizon phone which used CDMA) i install m7ul roms that i can find everything seems to be for m7vzw and they still give me no service.
the only way i can get my phone to get service if i go back to the stock sense that came with the phone.
Any help would be appreciated. Yes i am new to this and have been trying to find out what I've been doing wrong and I haven''t found anything sorry for my ignorance.

Just flashed to a new rom yesterday and now my phone is completely incapable of getting a signal.
I've flashed plenty of roms and they've all worked fine until flashing to a 21889 rom yesterday (firestormLeo v5.5). Not a single bar of service since. Text messages don't get received and no data either.
I reflashed, hard reset after the flash, updated the radio, flashed back to an older rom that worked, and hard reset again.
Nothing works! I now have a completely unusable phone (phone-wise). It completely works otherwise (music, sync to pc, wifi etc) although it does seem to get warmer than usual. I'm assuming that's because it's trying to grab a signal or something.
Anyone have any ideas on whats going on?
I would try flashing the original rom/radio that came with your device including removing the spl and seeing if that fixes it.
If that doesn't fix it, then you are all prepared for warranty service.
If it does fix it, then you can reflash your favourite rom and it should still work. But sometimes flashing an official rom can fix things. I know back with my Kaiser it was advised to always flash an official rom between switching from an unofficial to another unofficial.
thanks for the suggestion!
just did all that and now i'm on stock rom and removed spl but it still has zero signal/service.
i bought this tmo tp2 from craigslist so i'm not sure if i'm covered by warranty. where do i go to get this fixed? or am i screwed
anyone else have any idea whats going on?
I had a similar problem with you(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=616426), and have been waiting for some reply since last night, though got none, but the problem disappeared on it's own.
I continuesly flashed and flashed official ROM's and Radio's, totally gave up at the end, charged the battery to 100%, removed battery and let it like that for 5 hours, did an hard reset, and well, working as well as new.
It's a T-Mobile version as well, though my problem was losing signal continuosly and asking for PIN again and again every 5-10 mins. HTC support offered me to use another SIM card today, since I asked what could I try last night, though I didn't have the need for it =)
A lot of roms do not come with a radio so you may have to get one and flash it. If you put stock rom back on make sure it has a radio as well. Make sure the radio matches the rom and the ril.dll is the right one.
I have not had the problem but have read about others flashing new roms and no signal only to find out they had to write a radio as well.
i'm certain i have the radio flashed on it and it isnt the problem.
just took the battery out and hoping it'll somehow fix itself in a few hours.
I would also recommend to flash the shipped stock rom. Go to htc's support/download page and download the rom they have for the t-mobile touch pro 2.
If that doesn't work, take it in for warranty with t-mobile. I purchased a used at&t tilt off craigslist and had an issue with it. Took it into at&t's device support center and they replaced it no questions asked.
My Desire has intermittent freezing issues. I thought it might have been due to a poor rom installation so I wiped the Dalkvik cache and factory wipe before I re-flashed LeeDroid 2.2a. I've kept the phone clean and not installed any apps so I can rule out and problems caused by them.
It was working fine yesterday until I was showing a friend how to wipe battery stats, when I went to reboot the phone from ClockworkMod it then froze at the lock screen. I had to pull the battery twice before it actually started up correctly.
It's fine now but I'm just waiting on it happening again.
Has anyone else had these issues?
It was a t-mobile uk handset and I would need to restore to their rom before returning, so if that is the likely solution, can someone pass a link so I can put their rom back on the phone.
Any help or advice appreciated.
I've just got my Desire back from repair (after 6 weeks of grief with HTC, but that's another story on another thread!) and it's doing exactly the same as yours....will appear to work fine, then randomly freeze. This could happen after 10 minutes or sometimes even during boot.
I've rooted it, but it's still got the stock T-Mobile (UK) ROM. I'm wondering if the problem might be caused by rooting, but have downloaded the 2 stock ROMs on the relevant thread on here, but neither will install.
Have you had any joy with your issue?
I'll email you as well.
Cheers,
Rich
Hi All, I come begging for help after exhausting all of my options and searches for similar issues.
I have a CDMA Galaxy Nexus Stock 4.0.2 but rooted (I installed CWM).
I woke up to my phone stuck in the boot loading screen; it just kept looping over and over. I shut off the phone restarted it and the phone was practically unuseable, it ran very very slow. Now I haven't done anything recently or installed any apps. The only app I installed was a modified MMS app (one of the Inverted Black ones), but that was 2 weeks ago and everything was running fine since then. (However since I'm not on a deodexed Rom, I knew there could be issues).
Well I of course switched back to the stock MMS app that I had manually backed up and that did not help. Now my phone would load, it would get to my homescreen, but it would then say something along, "service is not working, wait, close, or ok?" I'd hit wait and within 2 minutes my phone would automatically reboot and then go into a a sort-of bootloop (it would just show the boot.img and loop).
I then tried to restore two Nandroid back-ups (which were basically bone stock and made months ago) and both worked, except it would say secure.img not found or something like that. I was still able to boot up and use these back ups, but then within 5 minutes I would get the same error and then the phone would reboot.
After retrying them I decided to to just go bone stock and wipe and do a factory reset. This worked and everything seemed fine until I went to turn on wi-fi.
I would wait for wi-fi to turn on and eventually it would just quit and then reboot the phone. I did this 3 times in a row to confirm that it was indeed wi-fi causing these rebooting issues.
Now here's the thing, right now my phone is working as I have purposely tried not to touch the wi-fi (I need to use my phone) . Data, voice, mms/sms all work. But I literally have no idea why wi-fi would be causing my OS to go crazy?
My last resort is to flash the stock toro.img but I was hoping you guys could help me before I get to that point.
As of right now even though I did a data wipe/factory restore my phone is still rooted (rooted apps all work) and my bootloader is still unlocked. (I renamed the secure.bootloader file as per the instructions when using fastboot to load CWM).
Please help me troubleshoot this, Thanks guys.
I don't know if you have tried but maybe try flashing a rom after a data wipe

I'm thinking about doing this as well since I will probably have to flash back to stock. I just want to make sure I can get back to stock since I am still covered by warranty and insurance (assuming they do not check to see if my phone has an unlocked bootloader).

Well you can always relock the bootloader. I doubt you will have to go back to stock though
This is by no means my first rom flashing. I've gone through this on multiple phones and multiple roms on each phone. That being said here is my problem in gritty detail.
Phone: T989D
Carrier: Koodo (telus network (canada))
I was running on the modified koodo rom which I got from the development forum, it was becoming unstable so I restored to a backup of the stock rom. Everything was working well. I decided after a day to flash a new rom, so I first flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313530. It flashed well and booted up nicely, everything seemed fine at first glance. Then I tried to do a test call, failed, which made me notice that my signal bar was flopping back and forth between no bars and the circle with a line through it (no service). I went in and checked the apn, all was fine. I tried to flash the radio from the stock koodo rom, didn't help. So I figured maybe it was the rom, went and found a rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279348 designed specifically for the T989D, and the carrier Telus (who owns koodo, they share a network). It loaded fine and booted up nicely. But it had the same issue with the no signal and no bars thing. I check the apn and it's missing the koodo apn, so I add it manually. Still no dice. Then I go in and try flashing the radio to this rom still no dice. I then tried doing a fresh install of the same rom, didn't help any. Then I tried shutting down, removing battery, sim card, and sd card. Putting in the battery, booting up, then shutting down pulling the battery and putting the cards back in. Also didn't help. I have since restored to my old stock koodo rom (which is god awful btw. It get 7 hours battery life with light usage), and it connects to the network perfectly. I really want to get off of this stock rom, so any advice anyone might have is totally welcome. I will try anything.
PS. while installing the new roms I followed all of the instructions to a T. Using infamouse cache wipe and superwipe when required, whiping everything etc.
Edit Solved by flashing different radios until one worked.
First of all this is my friends t889v with windmobile, and he asked me to flash cyanegeonmod on it. So I flashed the n7100 and the service wouldnt connect, so he told me to bring it back, so i did from a nandroid. After that service was functional but it kept on displaying "the process com.google.gapps has stopped" so i decided to wipe to factory from cwm. After that I got no service, so tried restoring from the nandroid again, but this time i got no service there too. I tried to flash 3 different modems, and none did anything. I have also factory reset from odin and still no luck. I tried flashing a custom kernel, and that led to the phone not booting, so i factory reset once again . I have looked alot and havent found a solution, so if you may please help me i would be VERY grateful. Thank you very much.

This here is wrong section, cause t889v is not the international N7100, so most of the stuff you've flashed must fail.
Go HERE to find answers and software to restore the device.
