Easy one this..
Nokia 3330,.. Pure 2" black pixel screen on grey background, monophonic ringtones, Numeric keypad for high speed texting..
blows the note 2 right out of the water
Nexus for latest software. If you have a nexus, you'd probably get addicted to mods.
Note 2 for battery life and stability. Since there's not as much mods for the note 2, you'd just be using your phone like a regular person would.

I own both devices. I use the notes 2 far more than the nexus 4.
Nexus doesn't even have USB on the go. i've been able to transfer data to a usb off my phone with the on the go cable on numerous occasions on the note 2.
Each user is different.
Yes the nexus 4 will get lots of updates, but personally i think it is missing something in terms of experience and i haven't been able to put a finger on it.
i use the s pen rarely but when i do its very easy to use and sometimes fun when messing around with photos.
The camera on the note 2 is better imo. so is the multi window stuff etc etc.
for the price point i would say nexus used to win for me but the note 2 is a great phone and i don't even need to upgrade it for a few years to come (ok until note 4 lol). however i will be flogging the nexus 4 for a nexus 5 when that's out because i'm bored of it already

Hows the call quality on the note 2 i want one but i live in West Virginia and well coverage isnt the greatest sometimes its between the note 2 and Nexus 4 any comments are appreciated.
I've never owned a Nexus 4 (damn you Google), but I did previously own a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. Honestly, I can say my Note 2 on ATT has much better clarity. This could of course also be because of the network and I also believe that the GNex didn't have the best hardware in terms of radios. My GNex was very staticky and just didn't sound good. I'm much happier with the note 2.
I hope this helps you some, if at all.
I had the nexus 4 for one day before selling it to buy this note 2 last week. (I was one of the lucky ones to get theirs from Google) The call quality was ok, but is much better on this. The note 2 overall is a much better buy.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I'm in WV as well and our ATT service has been fine. Call quality is great on the note 2. Still stock. I previously had the Inspire and was constantly changing ROMs to reduce my echo. The note 2 was a nice change. Also all the Samsung added features are very nice.
Just do it.
ATT had a deal with galaxy devices, buy two get 100$ off. Don't know if this is still available.

I like the big screen on the note is it any better than the note 1st gen?
I am quite impressed with the call quality. Coming from IP5, I think IP5 was good, but Note II is just better, at least on my side. Ear piece is larger and cleaner.

Never had the note 1 but the screen size is huge. At first you'll think it's too big. Give it 2 days or so then you'll find the most comfortable way to hold it and be able to reach most of the screen.
Photo and video recording quality is amazing. Watching videos on it is nice too. Just get it.

I find call quality to be clear, loud, and crisp. My old iPhone 4, I always had to place the phone on speaker because I wasn't able to hear the other person. Not an issue with this phone.
Call quality and signal strength is fine for me. In the Northern panhandle (Wheeling). Had it since launch day.

So hi guys
I recently got quite bored with my note 2
And sick of the fact that aosp wont ever be perfect on this phone because of Samsung notvreleasing sources...
And so I tried to trade it
I got an offer where I can get a 16gb used nexus 4 and around 125usd for my note 2
Do you guys think its worth the trade?
May I please have your opinions?
Thx

Perfect as in no spen features and such? Does the nexus 4 have spen to begin with. Basically u can install aosp rom and it will be exactly or not better then the nexus 4. Needless to say about the 5.5inch and long battery life. Why waste money on a downgrade when u can have the possibility of an upcoming dual boot kernal coming in.

The gnex has a 1.4ghz processor.
Please watch a nexus 4 vs note 2 video. Or a benchmark.
Note 2 is far better then nexus 4.
Also I heard nexus 4 has a pretty bad camera.

Sure. Asking this question in a forum of Note II owners isn't going to help you any. Everyone (like myself) has paid a lot of money for the phone so of course we're going to defend it (no one likes to think they purchased a lemon)
You'd better off looking in the phone you want to trade for and reading their opinions. Everyone phone sounds perfect on paper but when you get it has issues. Remember that.

No. If the leak holds true then the GS4 has got to be the laziest design upgrade, ever.
Rather keep my horses tight for the Note 3
Still haven't seen a phone announcement that makes me feel compelled to part with money for a new phone. 8 cores are cool but there are still nothing software wise that makes all those cores worth it.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
It will all depend on the specs. If it gets wireless charging, way better processor, 2gb ram, 32gb internal memory, same or better battery that's removable and better features plus the ones I currently have then yes I may sell my note 2 for the gs4. But it really has to impress for me to go through the trouble of selling my note 2 and buying the s4 at full retail.

Waiting for the note 3 regardless. However, if I didn't know about the note 2, and stuck with the galaxy s line, I wouldn't go for the s4 based on the leaked photos that I hope aren't real, spec wise with a different look, I'd be all over it.

Nope. Note for life. Will never go back to a GSx phone. All the rumored tech will make it to the Note lineup eventually anyway. I love my N2 too much to blow an upgrade on an inbetween phone.
Note 3 for sure

It remains to be seen if the footprint of the phone gets bigger with that extra .4 inches of screen; it may be the same size! That'd be cool. But regardless, the S4 looks boring and it'll be more than 2 years until 4 cores of processing will not get you where you need to be. 8 core phones are something that I completely do not care about, I'd rather they put that effort into better design materials.

Agreed. Although, the iphone 4G to 4GS (or 3G to 3GS) set the precedent for lame/lazy design upgrades. I think Samsung is just following suit.

It's a matter of personal taste...if you ever dreamed of an iphone-like device running Android, you're not bothered by the fact that the phone is sealed, doesn't have microSD slot and removable battery and 32GB of local storage are enough, HTC One seems to be the obvious choice. If you enjoy taking your phone apart or fixing it yourself for cheap if it gets damaged, like to have several days worth of battery life as an option and have a considerably sized media library you want to have with you then Note 2 is the way to go.
Galaxy S4 will be missing the support for smart stylus as well, some people welcome the functionality of it and I can't really think of any other phones on the market that would come close to the functionality and precision of the Galaxy Note 2 Stylus. As a galaxy note 2 owner I'm not sold on switching to the HTC One mainly because the most important new features it brings (1080p screen, improved camera, infra red sensor) are not enough to convince me.
Also HTC One is using the Adreno 320 GPU which although really fast right now will become dated sooner than most would believe, after Tegra 4 and the new generation mobile GPUs will hit the market a few months later. I know that not only I will skip the HTC One but also the Galaxy S4...I want to see what the Galaxy Note 3 brings new to the table, I'm pretty damn satisfied with my Note 2 so far.

anyone any thoughts on this? I have a note 2 and I love it. I am well used to the size and to be honest I don't think I can go to the S4's 5" screen.
Am I or will I be missing out on anything that the S4 has or will the note 2 get all the features in an update.
IR Blaster is the only major thing you're missing out on IMO.
And lte possibly.

The ir blaster would be a handy little thing to have but I don't feel it would outweigh the extra half inch of real estate.

I can't even imagine switching from note 2 to S4. In fact I'll be missing out on even more useful options. I really hate how the new layout of the S4's settings menu, it looks outdated and I hope they change that before 4.2.2 is released on the note 2.

1. Best battery ever on a Samsung smart phone - This is very important to me when I am out and have no access to charging , secondly I like to check my social networking media and love to have lot of widgets and live wallpaper - Try this on a S4 and you will know how bad the battery life is on S4.
2. How can you ever Trade a S-pens capabilities for a S4 ????
3. Instal a customer Kernel and overclock your Note2 to beat S4 performance.
- IR beamer !!! really - are you going to use it ????
- I am still not utilizing 100% of the sensor and motion control on Note 2 , S4 - Iam not sure if will use them all even though they are quite innovative.
And has anyone any idea when it will get some of the features?
The next probable update would be 4.2.2. Date unknown.
Note2 is best.. no need to replace that with s4.. wait for note3 and change it with note3..
