[Q][KERNELS] About bln and fastcharge features - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

hi guys ı have got a one question
does arco's cm10.1 stock kernels support bln(backlightnotification) and fastcharge (same as in cm9) ?
if it doesnt support which kernel for galaxy w does support bln and fastcharge?
thanx for your replies
best regards

Our Wonder doesnt support BLN and will not !
but fast charge is available in every kernel
Enjoy

thank you madridii
but why our wonder won't support BLN? hardware problem or software problem?
also how can we use fast charge (with 3rd party apps?)

Yes, if I'm not mistaken its a hardware issue.
Third party apps work fine. I recommend performance control. Also allows you to set many other things like CPU frequency.

It´s not recommended to use FastCharge. The batteries for the SGW are not designed to be charged with higher currents above 0.7 C.

+1 i'm not sure but i think its the reason why my battery got busted! i don't use fast charge anymore.

gingerbread overclock kernel over 1,2 ghz?!

Hi since i am using my desire iam asking myself if there is a kernel to overclock the device more than the usual max. of 1,2 ghz which are given in the most roms and propably kernels....
In the past i hat an acer liquid which actually uses the same cpu but some sort of broken or not well done ones so itonly runs at 700 mhz but mine was actually able to up to 1,1 ghz so i think there must be at least some desire which are able to go higher than 1,2 ghz, but until now did not found a 2.3 rom or kernel which enables this.
Any one arround here who knows how to modifie a kernel to enable more frequencies?
The best I've seen so far is 1113 Mhz...but of course different Desires have different capacities. I can cook up a kernel for you with 1.2 Ghz, but you have it from me that it will simply reboot immediately!
I did some experiments with overclocking, and round about 1113 MHz was the maximum stable frequency, above my device got serious instability / freezes.
mine is running stable at 1190 mhz now but want to test where its stable but cant find a kernel for sense 3.5 which supports higher frequencies...
but as you said before every cpu is differnt maybe it can go higher

Does it just enable the freq or it actually is stable at that freq? If the latter, then I do need to have a look at the source!

Err I'm not 100% sure that THAT was the actual frequency, but it was the 2nd highest setting (highest setting rebooted) and it was fairly stable. Check it out with setcpu

Try to take it to 1.26 Ghz

Are you able to add usb menu for sense 3.5 roms? Maybe also in your last stable kernel? Would be very great.

Sorry I have no experience in Linux and kernel developing so I don't know where I can find this fix to send you a link to implement it.

Are you able to implement this fix in your overclocked and last stable GB kernel as well?
Many thanks.

Ok, it's done. Remember to share the link to webpage rather than reuploading the kernels, if you want to share them..

Thanks again
Hi,
Would this kernel work with roms like cm7 or oxygen? I currently use eviolett's manu 2.1 at 1190Mhz without any issues and would like to see if my phone perform stably at a higher speed.

[KERNEL][CM9][I9000] Mackay kernel ICS Final (4 flavours, 12-Aug-2012)

After building a CM9 kernel with some added features as part of my CM9-UNOFFICIAL-building, I decided to make a separate kernel topic: Mackay Kernel.
This kernel is based on stock CM9-kernel by pawitp.
Today's release will be the final ICS release! From today on I will start working on a JB kernel. First release may take a few weeks.
Because it is a final release, there will be 4 flavours:
-regular
-XLmem (396MB RAM, no 720p recording, 720p playback works)
-VC (Voodoo color)
-VC+XLmem
If you like a CM9 with the Mackay Kernel included, there is also MackayROM, which is an adapted CM9:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28149230
Changelog:
12 August 2012 - ICS_Final
Changelog
Additions since previous stable version:
s5pc110_battery: fix charging display for car dock
fix freeze when max frequncy is set to 800 MHz
fixed charging-autostart bug, now the device stays off, and powers on properly (thanks DerTeufel)
Updated to linux version 3.0.39
General features:
Build using the July Linaro toolchain
O3 optimization
Updated to linux kernel version 3.0.39
Mackay kernel bootsplash
Based on a single initramfs & using bootloop detection to prevent bootloops
Mackay recovery (based on CWM recovery v6.0.1.1)
Governors added:
SmartassV2 (default)
Wheatley
Optimized ondemand/conservative parameters
Schedulers:
SIO (default)
Added functionality:
Bigmem (384MB; XLmem of 396 available as well)
Adaptable vibration intensity (by setting /sys/class/timed_output/duty)
Improved SD-card read/write speed under windows
Call volume hack (using Settings>Advanced to set volumes)
Reduced battery polling interval

This kernel has some additions to prevent bootloops. However, if you get into a bootloop you can flash the kernel to be downloaded below with Odin (tar can be used directly) or Heimdall (the zImage should first be extracted from the tar file).

Goal is to have a basic kernel with some add-ons. There are some full-blown kernels for CM9 like semaphore/devil which give a lot of extras. But I like to keep it closer to stock (with no need for additional kernel apps), but still add a few extras.
Just flashed, working great. I guess we had a hole with a simple kernel after mialwe jumped to gs3, now it's full.
Can you compile with o3?

Hi Kasper,
Have been using your CM7 kang builds and they always worked smooth. I am really happy to see you making a "close to stock kernel" which i guess lot of people here would appreciate.

No plans for BLN. BLN is one of those features which requires a special app. I use the regular led notification myself which is controlled through CM9-settings. Less powerful, but also no additional memory footprint from an additional app.
With regard to -O3 flags, I will definitely look into that.
I just recoded my OC patch, used midnight kernel as a template. I hope to finish that part of the project later today. After that, I will look into compiler flags.

This is indeed the patch I looked at to implement OC Adapting it to include an additional 1400MHz OC step.
I just added a testversion of the Mackay kernel. It includes OC (only 1200MHz for the time being). This is quite stable for me, but not perfect yet (my phone is very bad at OC, so I can not really test this very well).
Removed the OCtest kernel as it is buggy for me: it just stops working when screen is turned of for some time. Need some more time for trying/testing etc.

Implemeting voltage adjustment in kernel, any tutorial on xda?

I will be trying to modify Turbo Kernel 3.1 to add some funcionalities and maybe even fix some bugs but fixing bugs is going to be a big problem if I won't be taught programming immidiately after I start school, so ATM I can add 2 things in dan's kernel.
2GHz O/C - it can be done, it's just changing 0 to 1 and rebuild...
Voltage adjustment...well it might be a problem for me since I can't find any tutorial for that thing and therefore I have no idea how to do this... can anybody help me or find a tutorial for me? Thanks...
