[Q] Lost EFS data Need Galaxy Note II from shoppingsquare.com.au Owner - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Friends,
I am in big problem at the moment. I flashed new roms (geek will know it)couple of times.But since last week my phone does not recognise my sim card or get any network and its IMEI also got currupted and I don't have backup of my EFS folder. I found out that the it may restore it to normal by installing factory stock rom. But for that I need somebody who have got Samsung Galaxy Note II from shoppingsquare.com.au in last October to March. So that i can download appropriate country's stock rom as it is grey import phone.
I need below firmware info, which you can get in Settings and About device
Baseband Version
Build Number
Thanks in advanced.

If that's the peoplearmy thread you might be able to find it on another website.
solved this issue by flashing the stock odin files then re rooted back off and going again..
Dont know a bunch about it, but it was really hard to find a good solution to the issue, So i dug around looking and trying everything that was findable with no luck, until just flashed stock everything through ODIN and the lost IMEI was back in the phone. From what i understand there is a recovery partition of some sorts hidden and locked that stores all the phone identity info. I noticed that the bluetooth and wifi mac were also listed unknown along with the IMEI.
hope this helps and this is my first post ever to xda and i use this forum alot for just about any device issues i come across

Here is what I have tried so far. Please post anything that might be worth investigating.

I tried the steps below. Repacking framework-res.apk into the system.img. Flashed, and it kept getting stuck in a boot loop.
I assume this is because of an improperly signed framew...apk file. I tried without signing the file as well.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'm game to try it.
Commands;
extract;
apktool if framework-res.apk
apktool if SystemUI.apk
apktool if twframework-res.apk
mount apk;
apktool d framework-res.apk C:\Mount
modifying ./values/bools.xml entry to name="config_voice_capable">true

apktool b C:\Mount framework-res1.apk
sign apk;

Hi ZC,
Do you think it could eventually work with Galaxy Note 8 i467m LTE from Canadian carriers (Bell/Rogers/Telus)?

I pray the programming gods smile upon you favorably...
If you succeed, I'll trade in my device and buy one, I'd like to have LTE.

I repacked N5120 rom and installed on my i467M, rom is working fine. I have the dialer now. Only problem is , modem.bin does not support calls, whenever i try to make a call, it ends the call.
I have tried modems from some other samsung devices but those are causing boot loop.
So far i have tried Note 2, Note 2 tmobile, note 8 5120 and may be couple more. If we can find a modem that will not cause boot loop then we will have a note 8 that is a huge phone.
Can anybody suggest a modem that should work ??

This is where I ended up. I was able to modify the stock image and enable phone support. Turns out the phone app already exists. I did not try different modems.
A suggestion would be to try a sim card from a working phone. The device IMEI may be blocked. I have been busy and have not been able to test this.
I plan to get back to this soon.

True.. But I did get my model for $300 with an S4 Active. If we can get it working, it would just be for kicks. It may not have a practical purpose. Also, ATT may not allow the device to make calls no matter what we do.
For those looking for an ATT compatible unlocked model use this link.

Not sure myself. If we get it working it may be worth trying?
Have you tried reading up on the old P1000 Tab 7 forum?
That was the first tablet to make calls and could have some tips on how they figured it out.
It was more than just flashing a stock euro rom and modem if I remember correctly.
Hey guys, I have an unlocked I467, using my local sim. connected on my local network now...Just texting works though.
downloaded a 3rd party sms...I'm just saying that as long as your IMEI is not bad, it don't necessarily mean that
you cannot use it on other network if it'sunlocked, in case you were able to get the phone app working...
....Just a thought.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini SPH-L520 HELP!

I made an incredibly stupid mistake and didn't notice what the actual model number for my S4 Mini was. I used a guide to root it as if it were a GT-I9195 and now I've completely screwed it up. When it booted I couldn't connect to any type of network and the soft keys didn't work at all. I tried to install what I thought was the original firmware to the phone, but again didn't know I had the wrong model number. How do I restore my phone to its original state? I no longer care if it is rooted or not, I would just like to have a working cell phone again.

Just flash stock firmware. thats a pretty big mistake to make lol I'm pretty sure I made it quite clear in my guide to backup at least 2 or 3 times. But just flash stock firmware using the commands at the bottom of my guide. Even if the bootloader is locked the commands will work to reflash it still. The need links for stock firmware is also in the guide. And I will say this. If you took the newest update before rooting then you will have to wait for that firmware to be uploaded because its not uploaded yet.

The newest build is only a few days old so it will be nearly impossible to find online. And it has a different baseband and radio than the previous build. But the October update is OCP27.91-150
As long as the imei isn't zero you should be able to get service back. I had the same issue when I flashed an older firmware like a moron. But when I took the update again, I got service back. I don't recommend it because I may have just been lucky, but no matter what don't flash the gpt, asdspo(?) And bootloader with the older firmware. It'll mess your life up.
Ok i guess ill have to wait it out. Tried to flash stock and still unknown imei and no base band version so guessing it was updated. Thank guys!

Try taking the update again over WiFi if you can. You shouldn't have an issue as long as you're back to stock. But the update is only 3 days old so you may have a chance.

At this point no it's gonna need a full reflash of the firmware. I was having issues with my service and went and flashed the OEM file from the 2nd update through fastboot and did the erase carrier command and got my service fixed. Could try that.

At this point no it's gonna need a full reflash of the firmware. I was having issues with my service and went and flashed the OEM file from the 2nd update through fastboot and did the erase carrier command and got my service fixed. Could try that.

If you have the xt1922-9 then that means you have the att version if I'm not mistaken. If so just go to the links in my guide for stock firmware in the att folder. It has both the firmware your on plus the updated firmware from September which is ocp27.91-62-3 plus my guide will help you achieve root. Just please read it all

The newest build is only a few days old so it will be nearly impossible to find online. And it has a different baseband and radio than the previous build. But the October update is OCP27.91-150.

Baseband is software. Radio is a piece of hardware. The piece of hardware that gets your carrier's signal. It can't be upgraded without physically altering the phone. Even then it would need to be the same exact radio because the stock drives probably wouldn't work, and the chances of a dev making a version for 1 person with a different hardware would be slim to none.

@ninjakira Would my modem.img backup be of any use here? Or anything else? I don't know what is stored where.

If you want him to have your Imei number, you could but thats not a good idea.

Try flashing stock firmware. If that doesn't work there are other options still.

You were flashing a gsi not a rom. Even then a rom and even less so a gsi, doesn't contain all the same data as what stock does.

Hello, as a bigger moron i flashed an older firmware because the networks were going nuts ( mobile data didn't connect even though i had an imei, and wifi and bluetooth just went on and off constantly). Now I don't have IMEI nor wifi(idk why it doen't work to get an ota update). What should I do?
I have a Moto G6 plus RETAR (Argentina) and the new update is not online because it went online today in the morning.
Thank you in advance
PD: I realized this thread is for the moto g6 play, anyway i believe you colud help me, plz I am desesperate
