I'd wait for few days to see how the bootloader and rooting will be.

I hope this is real because I'm going to T-Mobile in the morning lol

It's not going to make the phone cheaper. They would just split the $200 up over 24 months and end up being the same price.

i dont understand tnobile's offer. correct me if i'm wrong.. but are they offering the note 3 for $0 for a 2 yr contract?
i've been with tmobile for 6 yrs until 2011. but im on their prepaid.. wat deals do u think i can get on the note 3?

Contracts are gone. It's all month-to-month. So they are saying the phone costs $0 to walk out of the store, pending credit check, and they'll bill you $20 per month until the phone is paid in full.

WHole point of being eligable for the jump program brotha.. il dbl check tommorow, but i went today and from my understanding, thats how it works.. ur basically leasing/renting the phone. U can either decide to keep the phone and pay the rest off. Or decide to get a new one. With technologies always upgrading to the yearly. People want the latest and greatest tmo jump and att next provide that. Unfortunately for me ive never had my phones for more than 6 months. Coming from the s3 > note 2 > s4 changed my phone every 6-7 months don't know why. And thats before the jump program.....

Is this web only or also in store deal? On their website, it mentions $0 down web only deal but that flyer seems like it's for in store as well.

Unfortunately, it looks like an adjustment of monthly payment. The grand total stays the same.
$29.5*24=$708

That is exactly how it works. Upgrades every 6 months, but you have to return the phone you used. The Jump program also included free insurance which not only covers damage, but also lost and stolen.

This is really great on the jump! program. If you trade it in at 6 months, they are forgiving $531 dollars owed.

The 0 Down promotion is real.
Old pricing
Well qualified credit- 199 down 21/month
Lesser qualified - 350 down 14.70/month
PROMO PRICING
Well qualified- 0 down 29.29/month
Lesser qualified- 360 down 14.29/month
Prepaid plans- full 703 up front
You can upgrade again anytime after 6 months if you have jump, so theoretically after 1 year when note 4 comes out you.will have paid 348 in payments. T-Mobile, upon you trading in your note 3 , will wipe out the remaining 355 that you have left to.pay on your phone ( depending on condition of phone, has to turn on,no broken screen, no water damage etc) and then you can start fresh with new down payment and monthly payments for your note 4.

I don't see any benifit in doing Jump if you're going to keep it for a year. Your math is a little off by the way.
29.29 × 12 months = $351.48
$ 10/month in Jump x 12 = $120
Don't forget you have to pay tax for the device, thats around $55 (depends on your location)
351.48 + 120 + 55 = 526.48 total you paid in a year.
If you traded in your device, you get nothing back. If you paid $704 up front or doing 199 down, You can sell the phone for at least $350.
750-350 = 400 total paid in a year. ( if paid 704 + around $55 tax up front)

Anybody else here STILL think its a ripoff paying a little more outright at BEST BUY for a brand new phone with their $10/mo protection plans with no questions asked, NO deductible, Unlimited replacements (within 2 week periods)???
Sprint can stick it.
Best buy protection is the best service I have ever had. Always got a replacement, for water damage, smashed screen, stolen, bricked, they even offer loaner phones until your replacement comes in.
This is the reason I never have an intrusive screen protector on, or sport a bulky ugly case that can never slide out of your pocket just right.
It doesn't cover stolen or lost but I have to agree it is one of the better ones, I have it myself. I paid for it for 2 years up front

I have worked for a Sprint Retailer for over a year now and still this the TEP is a bit off.
If your prone to normal wear and tear and cracked screens Best Buy's is much better. If your prone to losing it constantly, (no more than 3 times in 12 months however) then TEP works.
It's just another way to make a few bucks. What's horrible is without the TEP insurance, if a speaker blows or something your looking at $35 for repair
My only question is...will this count as a material change in T&C for our phone? I'm looking for an easy upgrade and have been waiting for Sprint to change the contract (they always do).

Hmmm.. Would be a easy way to upgrade to the gs3
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
It won't count as the T&C hole applies to your wireless contract.
TEP is an add on so doesn't apply towards that.
(Already checked)
No questions asked doesn't exist at best buy. I bought a transformer prime from them. The prime has had a number of confirmed quality control issues and I had to exchange it twice until I got one that works. After the second exchange, they told me I wouldn't be able to return or exchange anything from them for 90 days, even if defective. I told them to keep the prime, got my money back, and haven't stepped foot in their stores since. I used to spend thousands of dollars a year there. No wonder they are going out of business.

Not true. They don't charge for warranty. If you want expedited warranty service, you have to pay the $35, otherwise it takes 1-2 weeks to get replaced. If you play your cards right, you can get the $35 fee waived.

False? Since when! Retail stores don't give you options to get a free replacement in 1-2 weeks. It's just $35, even if device is on backorder.

Not false, sprint does not charge for warranty replacements. It would be illegal to do so. They provide a service for $35. If you object to the $35, they handle the warranty through the manufacturer which takes more time. However, if you threaten to cancel, they almost always waive the fee. This is probably just a case of you being an uninformed lower level employee.

I have always preferred best buy myself too. It seems that they are always willing to do what is right for the customer and I have never had any issues...
I read somewhere that someone had a bad experience. Don't let that experience ruin it for you... Could have been an employee with a hair up their ass that day and was taking it out on you... ALWAYS confirm things with another employee, customer, or even go to another store. I won't hesitate to drive to any of the three around here to confirm something or to grab something that wasn't in stock at the other store.... Worked for me so far! Otherwise, there's always the sprint store

I switched to best buy when I got my gsII.. I haven't had to use it but they just seemed way more pleasant to deal with than my local sprint store, and obviously like everyone else said the sprint plan is better if you're prone to losing/getting your phone stolen. Personally as long as best buy isn't going out of business and time soon I will buy my phone from and use best buy insurance. Just a personal preference.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Save your money. Equipment protection is a rip off. The phones have a one year warranty. Keep an old phone that you can port to for a couple of weeks while you send it out to the mfg if you can't afford the $35 for repair service. But if you pay 15/mo for 2 years + $100.00 deductible, you end up paying $460.00. Sounds like a huge waste of money to me when you can buy a new phone outright that is an older model for like $200.
Best buy protection used to be even better. I used it to pull off 2 upgrades with no cost to me. They have since changed it.
Before i took my evo in with a spider web for a screen. They sent it off, and a month later they said they were just going to give me a new phone. I got a gift card for $649 and they let me change phones.
Now, they only do rapid exchange with a referb. I had bby btp on everyone until this phone, because i got it in Amazon on black Friday for $.01.
And best buy does NOT cover lost or stolen, only sprint does.

Tmobile new jump program looks pretty sweet. A new phone every 6 months awesome. I wonder if they'll be getting the note 3.
I just left Tmo for crappy data service, I only had 2G. So if you're serious about making the switch do a little research about the data services they offer in your area(s). I will say the have awesome customer service, but like all carriers going to the store for support in useless.

what that artilce doesnt mention is that you forfeit whatever youve payed on the old phone including the down payment.
to get the note 2 on tmo you have to put down 100 dollars. then make a 20 dollar a moth payment every month on the financing of the phone. after 6 months, youve payed a total of 220 dollars. plus the extra 10 dollars monthly for the jump program. so now your at 280 over the course of 6 months.
to get as new phone, you have to trade in the old (6 month old) handset, plus pay the new down payment of 100 dollars and the cycle starts over. over a year your paying a total of 560 dollars. thats on top of your monthly service price.
sounds like a rip of to me. what are they going to do next? offer leases on phones?
---------- Post added at 03:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:10 PM ----------
edit, i was wrong, the note 2 is 170 dollars for the down payment, add an extra 140 to whatever i said earlier.

This plan only works if you upgrade and can afford to shovel the money every 6 months as its less money to this rather than buy the phone outright every six months. And especially how they do no contracts anymore.
If your life most people and can wait its not worth it.

What has not yet been mentioned is that the $10 extra a month includes insurance coverage. This is only about $2 more than if you paid for it directly so this is a worthwhile plan if you must have a new phone every 6 months.
As has been mentioned earlier, switching carriers means that you must check how the coverage is in your home, work, and play area. Otherwise it does not matter how good a deal you get.
Doc
I just checked and for me tmobile is a better deal overall. Biggest thing is having to pay full price for the phone. But it's worth it. If I switched my bill would be about $45 less and I would get an average of 6-12 mbps on hspa+ with great coverage here in my area. Plus my friend just picked up a couple of lte towers in the area that aren't officially announced. Right now on 3g my Sprint data on average never gets above .16 mbps. It's sad. Even on lte tmobile hspa+ is just as fast or faster. Plus I actually get a signal inside a building. I'm done with testing. As soon as I can leave Sprint I will.

I switched from Sprint to T Mobile.
Very happy.
Cheaper and 100x faster data
Used to get 1.5mb dl speed on Sprint, now I get normally 28mb dl speed normally.
If you're in a good T Mobile area, I fully recommend.

Man im really stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I've been with sprint for like 13yrs but the service has really gotten crappy over the years. 3g is barely usable if at all but 4g has been popping up in small sections around town. Should I stay and wait for the soon to be upgraded network or bail for the already proven and contract free Tmobile network?? Decisions decisions....

Im in the same boat. Tmo would be cheaper for what looks like the same coverage, faster throughput and would allow for world connectivity.

Have an unlimited 1500 minute fam plan right now with 3 phones. ~$180 in the end after taxes and 1 protection plan, 19% corp. discount.
For TMo it would be around $145 for the 3 phones, unlimited 4g data/txt/talk and 1 protection plan, 15% corp discount.
I like the idea of having a GSM/world phone. I will be traveling OCONUS next month and would like to be able to pop in a prepaid SIM into my GN2. I was going to do the GSM mod, but it's more work than I want right now. LTE has started rolling out where I live (boston area). Even though its quick, 20+ Mbps, its spotty and Sprint coverage in the area is slim. I've been less than impresses with sprints service, data, and customer service the 3 years I've been with them. I just need to find a way to get my iPhone 5 on my plan off without paying ETF.

Well you might want to check online as they offer different promotions. I was quoted for 226 after taxes, for 3 lines all have insurance all would have S4's and talk text data all Unlimited.
to compare apples to apples, Sprint would be 310 that for unlimited everything including minutes for landlines as well.
Currently we pay 222.30 for 1500 shared, unlimited talk mobile to mobile, unlimited data, all insurance on all 3 lines. With 15% discount.

There are a few other sites that helped with the process but pretty much u have to really want it and be willing to fight for it.
I now have a S4 and I think I like it better... Sans TW of course. And just as a tease a couple speed tests.

A couple things...
I no longer need to be tethered to wifi. These speeds are better and faster than my Internet. Charter says they're the fastest Internet in the nation, but not in my house
My bill is $30 cheaper. 4 lines. 2 S4's with unlimited data, and jump! insurance/upgrade program. 1 Nexus 4 with 2GB data and fully insured. (dad's fone) And one basic ($30 at Walmart) flip fone for mom with unlimited calls, txt, and anything else that line comes with.
Customer service is great. They also threw in a free case for my wife's S4 and dad's N4. That's because when I went online to see what kind of service and deals they offered, the N4 was suppose to come with a wireless charger. But when I went to the store they did not have any.
Bottom line I'm, ecstatic about the change and the difference in value. I would have made the switch if I had to pay the same or slightly more. Good luck to all regardless of your decisions.

JUMP! and the $0 down Note 3

I have 2 lines that I put the $0 Down Note 3's on. Both lines have JUMP!
From my understanding after speaking to a rep is; I will have paid the following up until my 6 month upgrade date.
JUMP: $60.00
6 Month EIP: $177.00
Initial tax: $58.76
Total spent at time of 6 month upgrade: $295.76
For me, I don't count the $60.00 spent on JUMP! I only count a small amount since I would spend $8.00 dollars a month on the insurance anyway. So $2.00 a month for JUMP! Brings my total to $247.76
Also, if you want to go with the Nexus 5 straight from Google or any non financed phone in 6 months, you don't have to upgrade, you can just turn your phone in which will eliminate future EIP payments.
$766.00 - 247.76 = $518.24 remaining balance. At 6 months I might be able to get that much selling the Note 3 on the open market depending on the Android market.
To me it's a no brainer going with the Note 3 at 0 down as it leaves me with decent options at 6 months. I'll probably be bored with the N3 at about that time if not a little earlier.
Did anyone else go for or reject the $0 down Note 3 with JUMP? And why?
No you're reasoning is pretty good. Little to no benefit in paying full and selling yourself unless you want to upgrade earlier then 6 months.
Also remember that the tax is not included in EIP and although you're paying the tax, it's not part of the balance on the phone. Technically, the balance that will be wiped with JUMP is $531 ($708-$177).
Decided not to go with JUMP because I wouldn't pay for insurance anyways.
After CA tax, 6 months of jump would cost me $300.
Given that I can get the phone from Negri for $650~
I can sell the phone after a whole year for $350~

Just sold my note 2 for $410 on ebay and my Note 1 for something similar to that, Even after fees, you're on top.

I don't doubt it. Just for me not by enough to bother. Then again I upgrade more often then 6 months so I sell myself every time as well. If I lasted the 6 months though I would just hand it in personally and I take the $0 down so I have the choice

same conclusion here.
I ended up doing JUMP as well. I get insurance on my phone plus I can get a new phone every 6 months. I'll most likely get a new phone every year but it's still nice to know that I'm not locked into one phone for 2 years like I have been in the past. I know a lot of review sites hate JUMP, but they all seem to leave out that it also include insurance for your phone.
I ended up going with Jump as well since it seems my cost analyst shows the 6 month mark being the most advantageous time to move on or stick it out until 11-13 months.
Prepaid is the $30/month plan with full cost out of pocket up front.
$0 down - Plan A is the standard $50 plan with 2.5G data + Jump. No taxes included.
$0 down - Plan B is the same plan WITHOUT the Jump. No taxes included.
Market value is the expected private party sale price over time and is based on historical S3, S4, and Note 2 data.
The TMO payoff is just that as time goes on.
You mileage may vary...

If you upgrade your phone every 6 months, jump works but if you plan on holding it a year, I don't think its a good deal, at the 12 month mark you will pay $474 for the Note 3 yet turn it in for free and who knows if T-Mobile will have these zero down deals in 12 months or even in 6 months because if they get rid of the zero down deals it completely kills the deal!
^^perhaps, but if you would even consider paying for insurance without jump, then what is the extra $2/month really costing you? I'll gladly pay $24/year on the chance that I might want to trade my phone in at any point after 6 months.
Can you explain more about this JUMP 6months trade in thingy? Is there any catches?

Only catch is your phone has to be in decent condition without water damage I think.

I put 180 down
I did not qualify for 0 down because I have had no phone credit history (used metro pcs for the better part of my cell phone life)
Even though I have killer credit, but oh well. Jump is worth it if you want insurance. Verizon makes you pay for insurance on top of their jump like program.
I am not interested in buying a 700 dollar phone and not putting some sort of insurance on it. I have known too many people that have made that mistake. Surely it is a scam if you never use it, but phones drop and you gotta insure that
I plan on upgrading after a year to the note 4 or whatever seems good at the time. I am not willing to jump after 6 months.

This is correct. If it does have damage then you have to put an extra 60 or so towards the new phone to fix the old one
Agreed. Jump is easy to decide if you get insurance anyway.
Getting jump on a popular phone like the Note 3 is a sucker's move for the simple fact you can sell it outright and probably get more than what the balance remaining would be.
Jump for my situation worked out better because I ended up getting the LG G2 with no money down and who knows what that'll be worth after six month so I like the option to be able to trade it in and have that balance wiped out.
But if I had the Note 3, I would pass on jump

I agree with the resale value argument. So it still comes down to the insurance for me. A $700 galaxy note should hold its value, but it's also expensive enough that I feel it must be insured. And that makes jump a no-brainer. Without insurance, I'd want a super tough, nuclear blast type case for it and this phone is big enough.

Think you can get $530 for it used? after 6 months? Cash? Cause thats what tmobile will give you? With no deposit anyway. No deposit makes Jump very worthwhile to me.
I went with jump and zero down. The rep told me you can't use the installment plan without Jump.

What Tmobile Plan to get for Use on ATT?

I want to buy in the Tmobile store and come home, get an Unlock code and use my phone on ATT.
The phone is $708 at TMO + Tax.
How do I get out as cheap as possible?
The store says I need to buy a month of service when I called them. At like $70
I haven't been with TMO for like 10 years and their website is un-navigable for me.
EDIT: added 10/1/2013
I wallked out of TMO for $771 today.
$708 + TAX(6.5%) + $10 activation + $10 minimum Pay as you go acct
Even after confirming this on the phone they tried to put the bite on me for another $50 for a plan. I argued the price I got on the phone and they relented. If you call TMO by phone they do they exact same thing and relent the same. It's very much like a car dealership in how they work.
Waiting for my $6 unlock code presently, we'll see how that works out.
Cheapest TMobile plan is the $50.00 with unlimited calls, texts and 500mb of data.
Ian B
Cheapest plan they put me on and I do not remember the name but the dollar amount on the invoice was 10 + 30 dollars whatever they meant.
OK, after some goofing around with the local store on the phone, I got the straight answer
$708 + Tax(6.5% for moi) + $10 SIM + $10 Pay as You Go Plan (100 minutes) + Unlocking fee
I am going to do the retail price in the store rather than Swappa or Ebay because this phone has a high chance of needing warranty service even if I don't molest it.
People are getting bootloops from the freakin' play store FFS!

So the store clerk robbed me then. He said he was trying to get me the lowest paid plan obviously was only looking at pre paid plans and not jump. Under normal circumastances I would return my phone and get my money back and try again. However I do not want to end up with Note with a loose Home button or one that gets warm. I am sticking with this one. thanks anyways.

Just found out tmobile rep signed me up for jump

So I just checked my account and found out I am signed up for jump protection. When I bought my note 3 she asked me if I wanted to sign up and I specifically said no. I bought my phone outright full price. If I hadn't checked today I would have been paying for it. I'm going to call the store later today or tomorrow. What should I say and demand

It could have been a mistake. Its probably a check box when you sign up. IMO, tell them to take it off and ensure you aren't charged for it on your bill. If you have payed for it at any point, get a credit. These are high school grads here usually with their first job that has actual responsibility. I don't keep my expectations too high.

My salesperson explain to me that for the protection of the phone and peace of mind. Insurance to be exact...but he also told me that you can cancel it anytime online...
Yes I can cancel it online but why was it on there. She repeatedly tried to tell me to get it and I said no. So I don't know if it was a mistake or if it was on purpose. Should I demand anything or just get it off and not make big deal.

It happens to me too. I just asked the sales rep what does the jump thing means and what does it do, alas! Already added on my account, but when I went back to the store to replace the phone I told them about the jump added on my account and I do t want it they took it off my account right away no questions asked. Jump is not mandatory ots just added benefits if there is to those people whose buying their phone on monthly basis payment. Hope this helps.

Its no Mistake, T-mobile reps get Commission pay for signing people up for Jump, I went through this same, I specifically told the Girl, i DO NOT want the Jump, then she made a comment " well its required with the note 3 when buying " so i told, thats BS (in a funny manner ) and told, i know how this works, i worked for a phone company then she laughed. If the rep get u signed up for Jump its an additional bonus they recives when they get the commission check. So if you do not want the Jump, REFUSE it, they even demand it, its required for Note 3. dont fall for that BS.
hope this helps
FYI, i did signed up for the Jump after 10 days, because i later found out that, note 3 have lot of faulty issues, including freezes, crashes and touch issues, since spending $700 bucks and being a phone fanatic who changes phone every 3 month, this move seems like a good idea,
PSA and Fyi, if you have insurance on the device without jump, it's $11.99/mo
If you have jump, which includes insurance, it's $10/mo
I almost never opt for insurance on anything, but I think it's usually a good deal (temporarily, at least) to have it on a $700 phone.
The reps make very little on jump incentives. It's more about quotas and there's ridiculous pressure to be above 80ish percent (e.g. they can be written up for having a low %)
That's not our problem though. However, I'd recommend getting it, and cancel if you don't want it a asap. Keep in mind, phone payments don't start for 2 months.
Either way, the main acct holder will always receive a text if it's added, so keep an eye on that if a rep is shady.

This. Jump is a great deal IMO, insurance for $1.99 LESS per month even if you don't want to use the upgrade option.
Either way OP, if you don't want it just call and have them take it off or go online & remove it yourself. Don't "demand" anything, you're not suffering any ill effects because you accidentally got signed up for Jump. Don't be that guy who storms into the store demanding recompense for a simple mistake.

These kind of comments should be kept to your self. Most of the people that work for T-Mobile are not just high school grads. I have a 4 year college degree in Law Enforcement and am unable to find a job right now. I also work as a T-Mo RSA in a Corp store. Yes it is a check box and also you have to get 90% of all customer you help to get jump or you get fired after 3 months. So keep your crap ass comments to your self. No one wants to hear it here.

Yup the I work in a T-Mo Corp Store as a RSA. Because of how much my manger is pushed to get jump on accounts. We have to get 90% of all the customers that buy phones to get jump or we lose our jobs after 3 months if we are under 90%. Some mangers will tell reps to put it on for a month and the manger will credit it after month is over. The system still sees it has a add and the rep is safe. This is how bad T-Mobile is now when it comes to stuff.
I also work for T-Mo and he's right, our goal is 90% of any phones sold, but only for customers doing an EIP (payment plan). JUMP is $10/month and along with insurance bundled in (lost, stolen, physical, liquid damage) it also allows you to trade in the phone after six months, wiping away anything you still own on it, and making a new down payment on a different phone. You can do that twice per year after the first six months. If you plan on keeping your phone and paying it off, standard insurance without the JUMP will cost you $8/month. Just FYI Shady sales people are in many industries, so please don't assume every cell phone sales person is out to get you. If you leave the store not understanding everything you have signed, you don't have anyone to blame but yourself. At my store you have to sign a form that says you are enrolling in JUMP, not sure if every store has those though. That being said I do highly recommend insurance for this $800 phone. If something happens to it, $175 deductible is way better/cheaper than repairing costs or re-buying the device.

You should go to the store and complain to the manager. When I bought my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone at full price, I specifically told the sales rep "I don't want insurance". The next day I get a text saying that my contract changes have been made. When I checked my account, it showed insurance. This pissed me off that they try to slip in insurance or other option just to get commission out of you. Next time before I leave the store, I will have them write out with a pen on the receipt "no insurance or other paid options or changes to the contract" and then have them sign their name and date it.
Could someone tell me where it would state "Jump" on the bill? I've been looking my bill over and I can't seem to find my insurance coverage or jump.
