Carrier unlock code from AT&T doesn't work. - Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking

I got my carrier unlock code from AT&T and when up put it in, it says incorrect code.
This happens when using a different SIM card and the diagnosis app. Any ideas/help?

Sometimes, the code that you get from the carrier is shorter than what is actually required. In that case, you need to add "0"s before the code to make it the same length.
e.g. Code received from carrier: 12345. This code is too short to actually function and will result in incorrect code. Code you need to use in this case: 00012345. Find out the number of digits required and then adjust accordingly.
p.s. you are only allowed 5 tries for the unlock. If you enter the wrong code 5 times, your phone will be permanently locked to your carrier. Only try the fifth code after contacting the manufacturing company (HTC, nokia, Samsung, etc.) regarding this matter. After the 5th time, no one can undo the permanent lock.

How to sim unlock the AT&T Nitro HD

Unlock codes are now available for the AT&T Nitro HD.
1. Get unlock code from AT&T or a code reseller.
2. Put in non-AT&T sim such as T-Mobile.
3. Phone will prompt for network unlock upon boot.
4. Enter the unlock code (NCK) provided to you by AT&T or code provider.
5. After carefully entering the 16 digit NCK code press unlock.
6. Phone will then request network unlock and report successful.
7. Phone is now sim unlocked for use on any gsm system worldwide.
Lol, kind of shameless advertising there in your signature ;-)
My 2 cents on the subject: there's a guy selling P930 unlocks on ebay for less than $3. Worked great for me and I was unlocked in like 15 minutes after ordering (he got the code to me quick). There's no reason to get raped on unlocks if your carrier won't provide your NCK for free. As always, your mileage may vary, happy unlocking!

[Q] how to reverse sim permanently lock LG optimus LTE p930

I have purchased an LG Optimus LTE P930 phone from someone on Kijiji and the phone is locked to bell but when I go to throw a different sim card in to unlock it I get "this phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked". is there anyways to fix this issue?
Yeah, you need to find someone who can get your NCK unlock code. I got mine from a guy on eBay for like $3. Then dial 2945#*930# and enter the unlock code you are given. Easy peasy.
You might try these guys.
it does not give me an option at type in a NCK code as soon as it turns on with wrong sim it just pop's up with that same error
I don't understand, can you not dismiss the error and continue using the phone and then type in that number I gave you? If all else fails, maybe you can remove your SIM card and dial the number that way? As I recall, I had 0 issues unlocking my phone and I didn't even have a SIM card in it when I did it if I remember correctly...
A "freeze" usually happens after too many NCK attempt, usually 10.
what you would be looking for is an "unfreeze" code.
But if your Bell SIM still works it sounds like it is a service provider lock -SPCK- which is similar to network locked.
There may be a dialer code to reset attempt count, may also be able to binary edit it.
I reocmmend trying a site like this http://www.unlockallcellular.com/lg-nitro-hd-unlock-code-p-198068.html
there may be afew other, even on ebay. I would get with one that provides a guarantee. Usually invloves taking a video of you entering code to prove if it works or not. If not they will refund your money.
be patient as it could take a day or two.
I once paid $70 to unlock my dell streak 7.
Cheers.
did you manage to fix this? I'm having the same issue
Any solution i got this same issue on my G2 D802
My at&t pantech p6020 phone is saying that sim is locked and when I try to unlock it it says the incorrect unlock code was entered ten times this phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked. What should I do? help me please

[Q] my s4 m919 do not accept or respond to unlock code

Hello everybody. I am new to this forum. I need a little help with my Galaxy S4 M919.
I purchased it from Craigslist new and paid $430 in September 2013 and used it full 4 months up until the owner either reported lost/stolen or didn't pay the bill (Even tho the couple promised they would not report it to t-mobile whatsoever).
So, anyway, it stopped working with simple mobile, I decided to use it with other carriers. It was on stock 4.2.2 until I did an OTA update to 4.3 (over wi-fi). After that I purchased an unlock code on eBay and was provided with 4 different codes: network, provider, subprovider and defreeze codes.
I put an unauthorized sim and phone prompted to "Network sim unlock pin" screen. I entered the Network unlock code, nothing. I tried 2 times, 3 times, still nothing. the same code prompt screen appears. I have been given a bunch of other solutions with different codes involved, but the phone is irresponsive for most of those codes.
The interesting thing, the phone did not freeze with many unsuccessful unlock code entries. What could be the issue? Could it be settings, software issues? Codes like these *7465625*638*# do not do anything, no action just remains in the dial pad.
Erase and Reset once, through phone Settings>Account> it did not help. I even did it with a code *2767*3855# , same thing. *#0011# goes until "Enter 1" step then gives errors or quits/back to dial pad.
At this point the eBay seller claims he double checked with the code supplier and he confirmed that the codes are valid, and since it did not work he would provide me with 50% refund. I ran out of options.
Anyone have the same issue? Please help.
Well if it was reported and put on blacklist it won't help to unlock it because it still won't work.. My advice for right now is to check with T-Mobile to see if it was reported stolen or something

I have the same problems enter T-Mobile unlock code. What I did was reflash. T-Mobile TW ROM and install another carrier or foreign Sim once I boot it up it'll ask for unlock code then enter it. Works perfect

I am not going to use it with t-mobile or MVNOs using tmobile towers. I will be sing it with different carriers.
Any recommendations on which ROM to install, considering my galaxy is on official tmobile 4.3 firmware?

Fire Phone is asking for PUK

Hi,
i just bought a quite cheap, used fire phone. Its from germany (Telekom). The preowner told me that its netlocked.
Unfortunately its seems to be completly locked for every sim, no matter if Telekom or a different carrier.
Its asking for the SIM-Puk. Doenst matter which SIM i insert. I tried PUK and PUK2 with two different sim-cards but the phone is not accepting it.
I can boot normally if i just "dismiss" it. But then the sim is not working (obviously).
Installing Cyanogenmod does not change anything in that regards.
It seems like that kind of behaviour happens, when you try to remove the simlock with the wrong unlock code too many times.
For example from a reddit-post:
"[...]After calling around almost everywhere possible - including a brief call to AT&T - I discovered that the phone is permanently carrier locked if you enter the code wrong too many times. Basically, you just created an expensive brick."
I hope thats not the case. Can somebody help?
Thanks!
When your security PIN is entered incorrectly 3 times, the handset becomes "blocked" to prevent unauthorised use. To remove the block the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code needs to be entered. This code is supplied with your Prepay SIM card when you buy it.
So you need to get the puk number from the guy you bought it off, hopefully he has the number of you will need to go to the provider and request it.
Anything related to the sim, imei blacklisted or simlocked should be avoided.
You should check if its not blacklisted also

Multiple brands unlocked without code

Initially asked about M9s, but now I have a sony and samsung that have been carrier unlocked without a code. Carriers say the code should be needed, but 6 separate andriod phones have been unlocked ( were locked when new ). Still no explanation of "***,144***" code.
Any thoughts on how this might be possible? Aside from an alternate personality that knows how to hack.

Probably leaked universal unlock code, to save carriers the time when unlocking, they probably only generate unique codes (that you pay for) when you want to unlock the phone yourself.

I agree (you're the 1st to even suggest that) about the code. dont knowhow to include " , ". Can't find it on the M9 the code was left on.
but phones (Samsung, Sony and HTC... different secret codes?) I'm finding unlocked were dead and packed for years. Only to get the free code from carrier then to find it not even locked any more. My daughter's M9 did require a code but the 2 still in this house, didn't 2 months later. Back, way before legislation banning sim locks took effect. Rogers charged for codes even when contract was complete and up to date.
Just a question thats really bugging me.
SOLVED!
Apparently the sim carrier lock is a completely external (to the phone) system.
However, carriers will provide lock codes, but not tell you that it's not needed. In Canada anyways!
Thanks for all the feedback!
