Problem with some gameloft games on ICS/JB

Many of Gameloft games closes on ICS/JB roms,,mostly due to some problem in multitouch..i found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443949 where some tweaks have been done to the zoom to make the games working.can these be done to the epic too??

What games?
I have quite a few running on my Epic with CM9 RC2 with no issues, such as Asphalt 7, Asphalt 6, UNO, and N.O.V.A. 2 - Near Orbit…
I did not do any special configuration to get them to work.
side note: I DID add the info from THIS THREAD to the end of my build.prop, but that was to help with the battery life

try running the old spiderman hd,gangstar 1,2, gta 3 etc ..u will know what i mean..

I had GTAIII on my Epic when I was on CM9 and it played fine.

Maybe a bit off the subject, but I had GTAIII on my HTC EVO4G (unrooted) and I loved it.
Now, I have the Epic 4G (rooted) and I have the game purchased on the market but of course it isnt compatible.
So, I notice some people doo have it on their Epic, I'm wondering how you get it to work ?

I run GTA3 on my Epic all the time, luv'n the save game with a Tank!
I do tone down the details and OC a bit, but it does startup and run with no issue.
Also run Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation and Backstab with no issues
In general, I have no issues with Gameloft games, so I would guess this is just an issue with games Gameloft has not bothered to update for ICS, which kinda sucks for those that paid for them.

I dl'ed it on another device, and copied the APK over, then installed.

Asphalt 7 gives me fc everytime upon startup closed unexpectedly everytime

That is so weird that it works now because I've tried awhile back and it didn't work, it'd give me a black screen after opening it. But I checked out that thread which helped a ton, and I got it installed and working! 100% .. not one problem.. yet haha.
Ahh, just like PS2 lol, lovin' it! I just found the GTA||| v1.2 apk and downloaded the SD data once (which I've read you may have to d/l it twice) and once it was done it opened just fine and has been working great ever since.

1) Watch where you're posting. I know there might not be a separate forum for Micromax A89 (and there will not be!) but anyway one can always go to Android General/Apps and similar sections for this kind of problems.
2) As for what you mentioned, yes I'm experiencing the same with an older version of Asphalt 6, only that it exits ONLY WHEN I do a multi-touch action. The problem exists across Android 4.x. I don't care about that game so I deleted it for all my Android 4.x ROMs. Best bet for you is to see if the game you're playing has any recent upgrade. But then again, if you happen to be playing Asphalt 5 or even older games... Time to move on to better games and a better phone!

[Q] why htc desire hd lags ?

i had xperia x10 which lags too much due to short of ram then i shifted to desire hd as its have large ram but still it lags esp during games
i have almost 870 mb free internal memory and almost 380 free mb ram then why its lagging ?

Which games are you playing? And which ROM are you on?
Many CPU intensive games nowdays are built for multi-core CPU's and since our DHD is only a single core device it has some performance issues..

I think it depend on type of game you play and type of rom you use. If you use official rom of DHD and play some games built for, there's no lags.

i am using official rom android ver 2.2 and games like racing moto. temple run infect in temple run when i close the game my phone is just like dying i have to restart it again

Why are you using Android 2.2 froyo? You have to upgrade your rom to 2.3.x gingerbread. I think with this you'll have a better RAM management and be able to play easily game like racing moto. It's my opinion.

coz my phone belongs to united arab emirates region and for uae htc didnt release ota update when i mannually check for update it says your phone is uptodate. my phone is also not rooted as i am not advanced user and dont have knowledge of rom etc thatswhy not able to update through root etc

Aïe Aïe!! Sorry for you. I think you have to root your DHD and flash some custom roms to benefit for all your phone can do. Go and see the topics for that.

Well, our desire hd isn't that bad now that it won't run temple run, in fact it can play lots of games much more heavier much more efficiently.but you really need to root your phone first. Just go to android development section and read the sticky threads..
( before doing that, I would suggest you reset your phone once and install games and apps again and see..., the lag might be due to corrupt files too.....)

problem resolved .. basically it was task killer which was killing the games i have added all games to ignore list after that its run fine.
about rooting. i have tried z4 and visionary for temp root both gave successful message at the end but when i checked my phone it was not rooted.. however for permanent root the procedure is very difficult for me as i am not a advanced user all the procedures gone over my head so i decided not to take risk.. if you have any easy one click root method then please share with me.

Well good your problem got resolved, congrats .. And given your situation, you being a girl, well the only thing that you would be doing after rooting is flashing newer and fancy roms some with bugs and some with less bugs, and I don't quite see a girl doing that on her phone all the time, girls got lots of other stuff to care for.. So my advice, stay away from rooting as long as you don't really run into some functional problem with official Rom which is very less likely, so switch on your Desire HD, click Temple run, and start Running and enjoy your cell

As a girl who flashes daily, I could be insulted, or I could just laugh...I think I will pick the latter.

Jetpack Joyride runs in slow motion after the update on JB.

I kinda like that game and I usually play it at least once a day, especially on the toilet (I mean, is there any other use for these shallow smartphone games other than being toilet past times?).
Yesterday I updated the game on play store and now the game runs in slow motion.
Has anyone else noticed this issue? Can someone download the game on his Xperia S and tell me if it works fine for you?

Stock. It's really weird, I assume Halfbrick has messed something up with the update.

If you are using jb 4.3 then there may be a problem and you have to wait for the update...

I am using stock rom .200.
Can someone with the stock rom please download the game and test it? I want to see if I'm the only one with this issue. The game is free so if you want to test this it will only take a few minutes. And besides, the game is pretty fun, so it's an opportunity to give it a try.

I'm using stock jb for Ion.. Don't it will be the same.. But the game not have any problem.. Run smooth .. Not in slow motion..

You should try and close some applications, especially FB.

Meh. I just reset my phone, and it still runs slow motion and lags horribly. That being said, I don't use facebook and my phone was running fine before too, I tested it with benchmarks and other games.
Are you lying or what? I bet you didn't even test the game.

Gaming on ICS ROMs

Hi guys, I have a problem playing games such as GTA III on my Xperia Play with any ICS ROM: everytime I launch the game, it freezes after a few seconds and I have to pull out the battery since the device stops responding.
Do you have this problem too ? Is it possible to solve it ? And...games aren't supposed to work better on newer versions of Android ? I know that ICS leaves less free RAM but there's are ICS ROMs like Krisdee's hybrid rom that leaves 200mb of free RAM like GB ROMs so I don't know what could be the problem...I've tried overclock to 1,6 GHz too, problem persists.

Not sure if you still have this problem but you should know that just because some android versions (ICS, JB etc) are newer, it doesn't necessarily make performance better. This will be the case when it comes to the Xperia Play, since this 2011 phone has never received an official upgrade to ICS (due to performance issues). When it comes to our phone, Gaming and Battery will always be better on Gingerbread since it is more battery friendly and less laggy performance wise.
If you want to stay on ICS then your best bet will be installing some mods such as Ice Cream Speed or PurePerformancesX however like i said if you're the gaming type then stay on GB for your phones full potential

Asphalt 8 isn't compatible with the Xperia Play hardware so even if you have JB or ICS you can't even download the game from the Play Store it just says that the phone isn't compatible.
Anyways, I've tried it with a JB rom (downloading directly the apk+obb file) and the game installed succesfully but it was crashing during the loading before the first race so isn't playable.

I completely agree with you, it's a shame that an unique phone like the Xperia Play has such "ancient" hardware...

hmm.. I dont know why it didn't worked on your x play at all .. but it ran some what fine on mine ... although crashed on Tokyo and London tracks.. even after using swap 256mb.. on true ancestors ics at very low graphics settings..

True... I hope they make a newer version with better hardware.
Still, I managed to run GTA San Andreas on Fusion ICS. You can use the buttons and analog touchpad with gamekeyboard.
Overclocked at 1.5 GHZ and swap of 512MB it won't crash. sometimes I get 30 fps, but most of the time I get a crappy 10 fps...

[SCRIPT][GAMERS][ALPHA] Jeeves v0.1

Basically Jeeves is a script to boost our devices performance and it will also go back to normal with a second command, helps a tonne with unplayable games like mc5 on our device!
this is the real game booster! btw development is still in progress so dont expect much yet, come back when the thread title version is at 1.0.
you need:
busybox
android version more than 4.3
smanager (grab it from playstore)
softkeys hider (grab it from playstore)
(piecontrols) (grab it from playstore)
/\ softkeys hider and piecontrols are if your on stock, however if on cm or any other rom with expanded desktop you dont have to worry about anything point: get cm11
stuff:
changes resolution
drops caches n stuff
super aggressive lmk
run the script to see what im goin on a bout, can anyone also confirm the performance enhancements, i currently cant launch mc5 cause its broken and i dont recommend this on lollipop but if someone can try that would help.
bugs:
after restoring resolution and dpi the device icons and graphics are all glitched until called upon to refresh, a reboot should fix this all.
will get more into improving script tidiness and thread tidiness after its working properly..
gpu clock control will also only work with a kernel that supports it.

A superb work on the script but i think it's just too early as we,the moto g2 owners,still doesn't have a very stable ROM and still many ROMs have issues especially with XT1068(i guess)

Thanks, no it isn't, MicroKat is made for people like you who want a stable ROM also CM11 is superb, I've also finished optimising gapps and I'm working on optimising the CM11 ROM and it should be done by like Wed I hope...

This seems drastic. The moto G seems fine with most games, and I have a lot of games. I had to cut render resolution in half for nova 3 (via gltools) but everything else is super. I use my nexus 7 for GTA so can't comment on that. All the above said I may try this script for ppsspp because this device really can't handle it like my (now broken) galaxy s5 could
