Ok I've been running @anirudhks de-bloated with G2 stuff rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462453 it's a restore not a flashable zip, BTW.
I noticed it had an app called recovery, when I clicked on it it prompted me to reboot into recovery. So I did and immediately noticed the font was larger and it was touch. I then restored my factory backup..it worked. Now I want the touch CWM recovery back...
Can I just flash the boot.img from anirudhks rom through advanced restore. Or is there a flashable touch CWM out there..????????
When the f#ck did we get ice cream?
Ok I figured out the recovery is Xrecovery
It says CN mod by Feiyu when the app is open. Here is a see screen shot. I can find info on xrecovery but nothing about it fir the G Pro...anyone know where I can find it or where to look. I went so far as to use titanium back up to extract it from the nandroid backup but it crashes....
When the f#ck did we get ice cream?
Here is what I'm talking about if I use moo~manager to boot into recovery I go into the standard small text non-touch CWM recovery V6.0.3.3. If I use the Xrecovery app To boot into recovery I get the larger text, full touch recovery. V6.0.3.1. WTF.....this is on the. restore/Rom in the OP. But I want this Touch CWM Recovery on my stock Rom.
I would love the larger touch screen CWM also. Is CWM , version 6.0.3.7 the only CWM that will work with Freegee?

I don't even care if it is touch...bigger lettering would be nice.
I would like to see a WORKING touch recovery...
I also would like to see a working CWM touch recovery that is readable on the LG Optimus G Pro. I had been following a couple of threads regarding the application of Freegee recoveries to the LG Optimus G Pro (E98010K version software) and issues with CWM touch AND TWRP touch with the ATT ROM. My E980 is rooted, unlocked with Freegee and has CWM touch recovery installed with freegee. Touch is not functional (I assume because of the tiny print and menu selection bars) and TWRP often hangs when I use the touch buttons displayed below the center of the screen, requiring that I remove the battery and reboot. I also have posted in help and troubleshooting a request for a working TOUCH recovery for the LG Optimus G Pro, with many views but no help.
Wish we could get more developer help focused on this recovery issue...

I assume that the problem is related to the version E98010K of your software?
Does the recovery work well with E980H10A? (Claro Panama)

Has anyone tried the touch recovery flashed by ROM manager on their Nexus and are there any bugs with it? I am abit gun shy with ROM manager flashing anything on anything till I hear others have done it and what happened.
I can confirm it works perfectly, at least with regular flashing tasks and it's definitely more convenient than using the volume and power buttons
why not just fastboot flash it yourself so then you dont have to have rom manager flash it?
also, i like it alot.
I flashed CWM touch using the galaxy nexus toolkit and its been working fine for me.. I have already used it for a nandroid backup and flashed several radios with the touch version
Works perfectly. Don't worry about issues
I love it, no issues with it. Flash it with Rom Manager but that's where I'd stop with RM. Probably best to do all the flashing manually.

The touch version works just fine, though I've recently switched to TWRP: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2 - integrates nicely with goo.im
I personally wouldn't flash it with rom manager myself as flashing in fastboot is dead simple anyways. I use the one from development section and it works great for everything I have done with it.
I flashed CWM touch using the galaxy nexus toolkit and manually using fastboot. Both methods seem to work, but Rom manager still shows current recovery as CWM 5.5.0.4 after phone reboot. Any idea what am I doing wrong ??

rom manager only updates what it has if you flash it through rom manager
Yes, I can see it in recovery. Thanks.
Anyone having issues with either of these, I just had to warrenty my wifes phone, so when I got it back I rooted it no problem then of course first thing I want to do is a nandroid backup, so I flashed the newest cmw 6.0.1.5 it hangs on wipe cache, tried to reinsatll cmw a few times same thing. so then I installed twrp newest version, it installed and when I go into recovery(the screen with the twrp logo and gray background) I get the home screen with no options, again tried several times to install same issue, lastly I tried the touch version of CMW keep getting errors, cannot open cache etc. Any Ideas??? I really need to clear the cache between different roms, shouldnt have to use super wipe, besides have no clue where to find that anymore. Im personally on a sgs3 and all works well. I'm very familiar with bot of these as I flash non stop on my sgs3 but Huston we have a issue here! UGH
Thanks Rob
I would recommend that you odin clockworkmod tar so you can flash superuser zip from it. Once you have root/superuser, download goomanager via playstore. Run install script andbit will download then flash the latest TWRP by itself.
TWRP is the best recovery i have used.

I did this but twrp latest does not work as stated above, when in recovery the main screen shows up but no buttons, and cwm works fine but hangs on clear cache.
Has anyone noticed that our stock recovery is bugged. It is difficult to navigate. If u press volume up or down u have to press it twice so it will move. Just wondering if this is a contributing factor for us having problems with cwm stuck at boot logo. If it is, then samsung should fix our stock recovery because i think we need to have a functional stock recovery to have a cwm recovery. Hoping devs can help us with the cwm recovery.

Yep, I noticed the same thing on mine, That was before I flashed the rooted version. I'll have to check and see if the prob persists.
recovery bug
yeas i have the bug i have my samsung tab t210 rooted and i press vol down and it jumps 2 i cant get to install from external sd card weird we need a proper working recovery mod for this come on guys do you magic and make a custom recovery for use suffering lol
i suggest we all try to work towards twrp instead of CWM than, as TWRP is more sammy friendly, specially since it's all touch input
I've got my OGP rooted, and I installed FreeGee as recommended by many; however, freegee doesn't give me any options to "disable lge security" or "unlock boot loader" as many tutorials point out.
What I get with freegee is:
device name: LG optimus g pro
device model: LG E980
Software version: E98010g
"backup EFS"
"Restor EFS"
"CWM 6.0.4.6"
"TWRP 2.6.3.3"
and via menu:
settings
update loki in zip
reboot recovery
reboot bootloader
shutdown
......
That's all. No "disable lge security" like I see in this video: I'm to new to post a link. . . youtube video of e980 with "disable lge security" as an option.
Or the option to unlock the boot loader I've read in some tutorials.
So. . . where do I go from here? I would like to be able to safely flash a custom ROM.
I tried this freegee CWM once before and ended up in a boot loop, and ultimately security lock on start up and had to restore back to original via soft brick fix. . . would like to avoid that again
Thanks!
When you open freegee just choose your the recovery of your choice. CWM or TWRP. Make sure you grant permission to the app (assuming you are rooted). Once done to get to recovery what I do it turn off the phone and press volume down and power button, once it turns just press the power button 2-3 times to get to recovery.

Thanks
Thanks stulzerl for the reply.
I was working my way through the 33 pages on the freegee thread. . . little confused on the lge security — dev stated everything white listed but also has uploat boot.img, which I've no clue
So. . . I guess I'm good without that step and I'll just attempt cwm again with beanstalk. Finger crossed.
CWM worked
Thanks again. . . TWRP didn't work — touch screen would only work on a couple items. CWM worked fine. Backed up and installed Beanstalk ROM.

I remember when I used Freegee, it didn't give me an unlock option either but after i installed CWM through it and rebooted, I got the unlock successful security error which means it did the unlock automatically.
maybe that's it

I don't remember just rebooting after installing freegee. . . installed a ROM right off. Nonetheless, all seems to be working properly.
for anyone who wants to know: I would get locked into a boot loop with CWM when booting into recovery from power off. I found that madmac's lokified TWRP doesn't have this problem.
If you guys like a tough challenge then I may have one for you because I'm screwed right now
I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 2
I was on Synergy ROM
I wanted KitKat
I tried to Flash Omnirom for weeks with no success using TWRP
I read that the best recovery was Philz so I downloaded and flashed it
From Philz recovery I again tried to flash OmniRom with
gapps and failed again
I did not do a specific Philz backup as I already had one with TWRP (perhaps my big mistake)
Now, I can't restore my TWRP backup
I cant get to TWRP recovery
I cant boot my phone at all
Please, I'm hoping for a miracle here
Can anyone direct me?

Hi,
I did a similar thing to myphone. Called Samsung and was told to do this?
Hold the buttons like you are going into recovery mode. When you signs of life (it starting to power up), RELEASE the power button, but keep holding down home and vol +. This got me into stock recovery...hope this helps you.
Then just start all over...

Try using odin and flashing philz 6.07.9 ... to access twrp backups in philz select backup/restore then advanced options the check twrp. Now it will restore your twrp backups.

I have heard of Odin but never used it
Do I need to already have it on my phone because I don't?

Please pardon my lack of knowledge but how do I put my phone in download mode? Do I do that from recovery? The only thing I can get to work is the Philz recovery screen

Did you get your phone back?
Rosy,I got my phone back briefly but wasnt able to get it to reset like yours
I ended up using odin to flash a version of TWRP that did override Philz recovery but everytime I switched batteries and restarted the phone it had all kinds of issues until today, when it died altogether. Now Im back where I started
On vacation and heading home tomorrow so Ill try Odin again.
That guy Phil never did reply to my issue in his own thread. Thats kind of rude
If everything else that you tried has failed why not flash a Stock Rom and start over from scratch or check out this post by @billard412 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769 this has helped me bring my phone back to "life" a few times
Hoping this might help you too to bring your phone back to life
