Stuck in factory mode

How do I get out if factory mode? Please

Tried flashing att moon port failed tried to restore back up it failed so I oden back to stock then recovery restored back up but now its in stuck in factory mode

Do you have a back up of your efs? Restore it and see if hardware info will go away.

I am familiar with that yellow hardware info and seen it before. When I was having problem with my imei before i tried cloning efs folder from my other phone thats when it shows then when I put the original contents of efs folder it went back to normal.

If you look at pic he posted he is still getting cellular network signal which is a good sign and pretty sure something in efs folder just need to be restored.

A clean nandroid restore would fix that up I'd think. ..But getting into a usable recovery may be difficult. ..
Does the factory mode allow any action to be taken with respect to pushing files ??

Custom recovery and Odin will still work but flashing stock rom via custom recovery / Odin will not fix the that annoying factory mode. Its like having a big watermark on your home screen. OP mentioned that he flashed Moon rom hopefuly he ticked thats efs back up option there. I am running the same rom right now.

It sounds like the cherry pick method from a known EFS folder is the only viable way back. ..
And either the files get manually dropped into place. ..or maybe via command line using ADB..
Either way. ..No easy task without knowing the steps. ..and having a proper EFS to draw files from. ..
At least the partitions appear to be intact. ..making the restoration very possible. ..

All that using root explorer moving all contents of efs folder and when that yellow factory mode shows I c&p efs back up contents back using root explorer again.

Cwm recovery help.

I just updated to the latest cwm recovery and at the bottom it says "warning no file context" is that bad? I then reinstalled an older version and it didn't say it.

I just updated as well from 6.0.1.2 Touch to 6.0.3.6 and have the same text at the bottom. Performed a back up, successful. Wiped cache and Dalvik cache
and rebboted recovery each time and its still there. Doesn't seem to effect any functions and seems legit enough to stay on. I'll do a little more digging.

Going out on a limb here but a lot of users are seeing that message because the package downloaded was written for 4.2.2 not 4.3.
It does not effect the functionality of the Build however...
Edit.. Nvm . that contradicts why earlier builds don't say it. Can't pinpoint a reason. Found on a German Nexus Facebook post that they had the same
issue on Nexus devices though. Build specific it seems rather than device specific.

I think it just the 6.0.36 touch version because when I go back to 6.0.31 it doesn't have it.

Nothing could be edited or modified to 'file contexts' in Root folder to fix this? If so, do you have an idea what it should be?

[Q] Need help with lgnpst

Hi, I am new at this, and have no idea on what has to go on. Basically, my phone has gone in a security error and won't boot into android or recovery, although I can go into Download mode. When I do however, nothing shows up in my lgnpst. I have followed all of the instructions on tSilenzio's guide, nothing shows up though. My computer recognizes it as connected, but when I look at the ports, there is a yellow warning sign on it saying it won't boot (which I assume is normal?). Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
Edit: I have a question, I figured what might be the problem. I had no idea that the components were supposed to be installed. On the other hand, when i go to install them, i get a network error "1316" something about the installation being interrupted by the network or something. Is there any way to fix this?

When u first extract the lgnpst pack u should run the auto install as administrator... that may solve ur problem.

Not sure what you are referring to as components... First off did you install this LGNPST: AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip (70.3 MB), IF so then the lgpnst should have installed fully and be ready to use. Secondly I would assume you do have but pays to find out are the LG drivers installed?

i ran it as administrator but the lgnpst component isn't marked as a .dll. same thing with the genericmodel.

I haven't ever ran the autoinstall, but the issues you're having sound like a bad download, or install.
I'd uninstall your drivers and LGNPST. Then reinstall both.
Follow LGNPST install walk thru, then in the the teeny bin thread under Additional info is another walkthru for using LGNPST.

Did u install lg drivers by chance...and then the lgnpst auto... U might want to open lgnpst ACG from the programs86 folder under c:\. Also right click and open as administrator.

You're talking about the ports right? if so then all the ports are 3.0. and alright ill uninstall everything and give it another shot.

You really don't have any 2.0 USB ports? Wow... I thought new computers had a least 1 2.0.
LGNPST has problems with 3.0 ports. I've heard it's hit or miss with it working on 3.0.

In case you guys weren't aware, BAM team has finally made ROM for our phone. I've been running it and so far no FC's or problems.

Never used on a phone I ever owned so I don't know. When I say everything works, I mean practical everyday apps like WiFi, gps, Bluetooth, camera. Stuff like that. I don't know many people that do use NFC

Which Gapps did you use?

I have a strange one here. After flashing the ROM in twrp & hitting reboot my phone went straight into download boot screen. Has this happened to anybody else? I never have suffered from boot loops or had any boot up problem before.

I downloaded the rom again & flashed & still the same thing. Everything checks out, but I obviously can't boot up. Oh well, maybe I try the next build. Thanks for trying to help buddy.

Same exact thing just happened to me! weird! Have you figured it out yet? Kinda worried me because the first time i tried to restore a nandroid it failed. Second time was a charm though... Sure would like to know more if anyone has any input...

No I never got it to boot. I'm sorry it happened to you, but at the same time I'm a bit relieved I'm not the only one. My restore worked just fine though & every other rom I've tried boots up just fine. I'm hoping the next version will boot for us.

Flashing Temasek Kernal got the rim to boot.

The roms kernal is either missing or screwed up. Flash temaskes kernal and it will boot.

Nuke your laf partition for a way to get into fastboot via the button combination

Note 1: This is probably only aimed at developers
Note 2: I have done this with my VS980 with the 12B aboot and it works as intended, but I cannot say for sure if every G2 variant is like this!
The partition /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf is LG's special partition for restoring the device to factory state with the Windows recovery tool. Upon further inspection of this partition, it's just a normal boot image, with a kernel and ramdisk like every boot/recovery image.
Unfortunately, LG decided to remove ways to get into fastboot, and the only way to get into fastboot is to nuke your boot or recovery partition, so that aboot will search for a kernel and when it doesn't find one, it will boot into fastboot. So I got the idea that since the laf partition is just a normal partition to boot kernels from, why not run the command
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
Which will make aboot fail when attempting to boot from the laf partition, and set the boot_into_fastboot variable to true, and boot into fastboot!
I hope this helps somebody fastboot flash a recovery instead of using LG's proprietary service, which wipes your internal storage on restoration.
Also, I tried installing a non-lokified custom boot image to the laf partition, it still fails with a secure booting error, so aboot checks the laf partition for a signing key :/ but yay, fastboot!

Good God I wish I had seen this a week ago. Because of that stupid partition, I've been without a phone for almost a week. I'm in a state where I can't get past initializing download mode, loading recovery mode, and the LG logo. If I could get to fastboot I'd be set. Instead, now I'm waiting for my replacement phone to come in and have been since Tuesday night (it comes in tomorrow at 2pm EST)

The ZVC aboot can be downgraded to ZV7 for loki support, but it breaks download mode, and just keeps loading forever.
Somehow, he lost recovery and boot, on top of a ZVC laf on downgraded aboot.
A few people got into this situation before we just started downgrading our laf partitions.

Oh man I think that's 100% unrecoverable. Unless there's a certain cable or button combo we don't know about that can put the device in qhsusb_bulk mode where the partitions are listed in /dev/sd* I think it's hosed.

Only way to force bulk mode afaik is this guy. http://downloads.codefi.re/savoca/autoboot/autobulk.zip But I can only confirm for ls980.

I haven't found any way to do anything with it at all, really. No bulk, nada. No boot, no recovery, no download mode, no adb, no bulk, not a single thing. LG is going to have a blast JTAG'ing this brick when they get it back.
Luckily, Sprint replaces phones with software issues for $75, or free if you have the repair service add-on/insurance. It's not same day replacement though. Mine died Tuesday night and I get my new one in twelve more hours.

Savoca ...as usual, you're my hero. I'm keeping that zip handy in case I get ready to do ANYTHING that could result in a hard brick. Bulk, download or fastboot mode would solve all of my problems right now, so for my replacement phone I intend to have at least two of those three options open any time I'm doing something risky.

Without some sort of software flashed beforehand that forces fastboot in place of download mode, or bulk always on, it's totally unrecoverable.
My primary mistake in all of this was one terrible assumption: I assumed that since the G2 is internally almost the exact same phone as the nexus 5 that there would be some way to get to fastboot mode even if recovery and download mode were both hosed. LG proved me wrong. Very wrong. I even tried applying various resistors to the charging pins hoping I'd find a fastboot combo ala Samsung's USB jig. No dice.

Luckily, Sprint replaces phones with software issues for $75, or free if you have the repair service add-on/insurance. It's not same day replacement though. Mine died Tuesday night and I get my new one in twelve more hours.

Savoca ...as usual, you're my hero. I'm keeping that zip handy in case I get ready to do ANYTHING that could result in a hard brick. Bulk, download or fastboot mode would solve all of my problems right now, so for my replacement phone I intend to have at least two of those three options open any time I'm doing something risky.

Without some sort of software flashed beforehand that forces fastboot in place of download mode, or bulk always on, it's totally unrecoverable.
My primary mistake in all of this was one terrible assumption: I assumed that since the G2 is internally almost the exact same phone as the nexus 5 that there would be some way to get to fastboot mode even if recovery and download mode were both hosed. LG proved me wrong. Very wrong. I even tried applying various resistors to the charging pins hoping I'd find a fastboot combo ala Samsung's USB jig. No dice.

This is the exact problem I have. No recovery, no download mode. I hope there will be a way to fix this even if I have to open the phone to solder something up.

Hey....using a root file explorer, I found the laf (Is that LG trying to be funny?) partition on my LG Optimus L90! I wonder if this would work.... Hmmm.

I don't know anything about that device :/
If it's coded by aboot to boot into fastboot if the partition is nuked then it should theoretically work

Hello. This would be very useful for me on the P875h. Trying to compile CWM, and every time I boot into recovery (now my build boots, but no LCD on) I get a wipe_data flag! Can't find the source of it!
But there is no partition with the name laf.
Can someone tell me what is the block for this partition? (mmcblk)
And what size is it?

Google lg mobile drivers and also install koush's universal adb driver. You should be good to go
