Hey guys, a couple of months ago I bought my sister an Xperia Ion from Amazon...but it seems to have an issue, everytime something is plugged into the audio jack, it freezes the phone and it gets REALLY hot....
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
If its new return it if its not replace the jack, there are guides on how to do that the headphone jack just about falls out

Thanks alot...is there any chance that this is a software issue though?
I mean you could reflash the firmware and test the jack without adding any apps

Hi guys I just traded my iPhone 3gs for a defy ive been wanting this phone for a while
One thing I noticed though was there are no caps over the ports (usb and headphone jack) is that right?
Thanks

there should be caps there
check on some photos
Certainly that's not right. Both headphone jack and usb port have cover.
Darn, can I buy the caps seperatly?

Doubtful - they're not supposed to be removable...
Well that sucks.

Well the title says it all, my speakers work fine but when I plug in my Phillips, and 2 different pair of beats by dress headphones my sound is distorted.
Has anyone had this problem?
P.S. I'm currently on AOKP Mil 6 and I'm having this issue I also went back to stock and still had the same issue

good news is the aux jack is modular, and can easily be replaced at a Sprint repair store.

Unless the store techs are lazy and want to file for an exchange device lol... my local store is like that.

Do you think I would have to un root and then take to them?
And also how much would it cost?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
rooted devices don't matter with Sprint. As long as they have a harvested part, they should be able to fix it.
$35.00 without insurance, free if you have TEP.

So I've got an old OG evo and a pixel just died on the screen. This wouldn't bother most people, however I can't stand it. So does anyone know whether sprint will replace a phone (especially an eol evo) for one measly dead pixel?

Why not answer it in the thread so everyone knows the answer?

They'd most likely repair it or replace it with another Evo if you specially ask for it. I remember my buddy got his replaced for a screwed up USB port. I was tempted to take mine in since the headphone jack is faulty but it never bothered me. Lol.. I have no damn clue what beats audio sounds like..

Hey Soap, I actually had that issue, and when I brought it in they replaced it free of charge. The issue was a run of faulty parts where they had one hardware revision's motherboard paired up with another revision's headphone Jack. So if you're looking for a new evo I'd go for it.

Like I said, doesn't bother me much. I have the greatest set of software on this thing. Not so sure I want to trade up. I might do it eventually.

I have a T-Mobile note 3 and I just bought it 2 days ago and I've noticed that the phone stops charging when I move it even slightly, and the only way to make it start charging again is to bend the cable so it is straight, again from the end, also it(the cable) seems loose and look's As if it hasn't gone in fully into the charging port, because It wiggles a lot. Please help!!?

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would take it back to the store and get it replaced.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium HD app
Could it be an issue with the cable, because I charged it using a USB 2.0 charger and it worked perfectly?

Solution, just buy a new usb cable, could not be easier than that!
You can use either a usb 3.0 cable which came with
the phone or a usb 2.0 cable, it works fine either way.
Good luck!
OK thanks guys, it turns out the clip on The plug was broken, which is why it wasnt firm when I plugged it in, but I just bought a new one and that solved the problem.
