Anyone here interested in letting me try/experiment flashing your HTC one to Page Plus? I'm not gonna erase any data off the phone or brick it or anything of that nature, if anyone is interested i'll give them a free activation with a $15 plan for letting me try it out.
This is really sketchy lol

So my wife broke her inc 2 the other day, I don't have insurance, and I don't wanna pay full price for a replacement, where can I get a cheap phone? I don't even care if its an inc 2 as long as its a Droid, preferably a rootable one

I would look on local craigslist near you for a nice inc1 or inc2..
Don't know why I didn't think of that, thanks man. In case I can't find a good inc one or two, is there another good phone you would recommend that has good dev support? My nephew has an x2 and I like it but I think the bootloader is still locked. Thanks for answering yet another of my posts, I try to pass it forward, help others when I can...

Get an inc1 for cheap. Awesome phone. I'd stay clear of Moto phones. Personal preference i guess. Check the for sale threads on xda. Lots of deals

I agree 100% HTC phones over moto all day long. agree on the inc2 part too, you shuld be able to find a good condition one for about $100 I think.
I have a Verizon HTC One that I purchased on the device payment plan. I have searched here and you tube to see if I can unlock the bootloader to install custom roms. I know it has the old bootloader version of 1.54. Any help will be great before my return Window closes.

No hope of boot loader unlock on that firmware currently. Only option is send to sonic for s-off. Or change carriers to att or someone else and get a one from them, I returned my Verizon one and did just that and couldn't be happier.

Verizon has blocked the bootloader from being unlocked via HTCDev. Currently, the ONLY way to unlock is to send it to Sonic. Visit this thread:

Well thanks community. Looks like I will be returning it. Only reason I tried was because of the radio being better than in my note 2. I may give moto a try

So you are against sending it out to get s-off'd by sonic? That's a permanent root for you...
If not, do some research before you purchase a new $600 device. If root is a MUST for you please take time to make sure a new phone will fit your needs in this matter before you waste their time with return of an otherwise GOOD product.
I apologize if this sounds snarky.... that's not my intent.

Ok guys I get it. You are right. I normally research these things but being able to get a new device and keep unlimited bwas nice. My fault

If you kept your old phone, reactivate that one, send your One to Sonic to get S-Off (for a very reasonable fee... the java cards are expensive!), then when you get it back, reactivate the one. Done and done!
I did keep my old phone but the simple solution is to just return and wait on the one max

Sonic's s-off was quick and cheap. If you like this phone go for it. You'll be able to flash whatever you want then.

The one max will be locked just like this one is. You will have the same problem you have now.

more development will be on the htc one maxx than this phone (unfortunately HTC kinda did again - what they did with the HTC Inc4g I just hope this community actually stays and doesn't leave), not saying that it will get S-OFF faster, but it will have more of a community than us, which = more bounty money = more developers working on exploits. Personally I can't use a phone bigger than 5' large. Again, this is just an opinion from word around the water coolers.

Quick and dirty version of how.
Visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427960 for information.
Go to http://htc.s26tech.com/ to purchase the S-OFF option for the One, send it off and wait for it to come back.
I have google searched and searched on here I cannot find an answer to my question. Should I turn on the advanced feature in lockout? Pros and cons please.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 4
It's free with jump. I haven't noticed anything good or bad about it. Hasn't detected anything. Doesn't gripe about apks I've patched. We have 3 gigs of ram probably doesn't hurt. I'm in the anti male are scanners for android camp but until I flash a room without it I'm probably just going to leave it enabled. On the plus side if they update their signatures rapidly some of this bad **** that makes it to the market might get detected if your not a 0 day installer .
I certainly wouldn't pay the subscription price though. That's likely just free money for everyone in the collection chain.

I'm just leery about turning on the advanced setting. Doesn't this hurt me it I ever want to root, unlock, and run custom roms?
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 4
Naah. I'm rooted with twrp. Custom rom would likely remove it
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 4
I turned the advanced feature on for now.
I'm not sure I will keep it. I'm not on T-Mobile jump and they will want me to pay after the trial. I sale my phones out right after a years use. I think I come a head this away. I get between $400 and $500 out of my phones.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 4
i enabled advance and it said thank you for your payment
i did not have to pay anything did i?
I am on Jump
I think with jump you get it free

I think these bastards put me on a trial without asking like before. I had to go online to cancel it.

When your not on jump I think they charge you monthly on your t-mobile. The first 30 days are a trial. You have to go online to lockout.com and cancel the premium. Which I'm thinking about doing.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 4
Yeah but older versions had a box to uncheck, here there is no option. Thats scammy.
I lost it. It was a loss, but OK it happened.
But an idea just came to my mind! Will I be able to achieve 50 GB again if i relock my bootloader and go to 100% stock with s-on, recovery and everything? it obviously didn't register my google account, so there might be a possibility! Can anyone share their experience on how possible this theory is? any guesses?
I did the same thing, so don't feel too bad. I felt like an idiot, but on the same note... I'm not a fan of having storage that I know is going to "expire." I can't imagine anything i'd do with 50GB that I'll just lose in two years.
I just logged a support ticket and they sent me a link that activated it.
You don't need to go back to stock. Just relock and claim your 50gb. I did it and it worked. Or you can always open a support ticket playing dumb that you didn't receive your gigs
I'm getting my M8 tomorrow, so I'm playing catchup. So, I gather this is an HTC promotion. How does it work?

Pretty sure this topic is one of those gray areas, so I wouldn't be surprised to not get an answer to this.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Not really, both devices are t mobile.
Maybe a little grey... however it is for a good cause, my buddy is on his parents account and they got him black listed by not paying the bill and his sensation has a bad digitizer... so figured I could help him out.
He can't afford buying another phone.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Free mobile app
There is nothing "a little grey" about it. What you are wanting to do is 100% illegal. Both phones being from the same carrier has nothing to do with it.
Exactly this ^^^^
