I don't appear to have the multi-touch digitizer issues that others are having, but my touches do appear to be hitting a bit lower on the screen than intended. Is this something I can calibrate?
Sent from my Nexus 7
My touches are also slightly lower and to the right. In developer options turn on touch to see it.
Is there a fine calibration that can be done?

Yeah, that's how I'm seeing the offsets -- I've got show-all-touches turned on in the developer options. I haven't found a way to configure an offset/correction/calibration.

Same here. About 2mm towards the bottom righ. Easily visible when using a stylus.
any change after 4.4 update
I had been hoping the 4.4 update would fix this offset problem on my tablet, but the offset remains the same, low and right. Did a sideload AND then a full reset just in case. Has anyone else with this offset noticed a change after updating to 4.4?

Hmm.. looks like not many people know about this...
Touch input still isn't accurate with Lollipop when using a stylus. Anyone figure out a fix yet?

Bingo.
This was suggested before in the sensitivity bug thread. Tried it myself, doesn't do diddly squat, my pressure measurements in the development settings still read in the .40s.

isn't it only for Samsung Galax S up to Android 2.3.x.?
I tried it, set the sensitivity to 0.28 and the time to register a tap to 1 , and the UI really was quicker, overall it was alot snappier, it's not just a placebo... although , i the press values remained the same according to pointer location from developer's settings...
I lowered the sensitivity to 0.26 and managed to get a 0.27 press value, never succeeded before to go under 0.28. Anyways , with lower values than 0.28 and with quick swiping the ui starts to stutter.. not to mention even though the UI felt snapier on 0.28 + register tap 1 , but the sensitivity drop was bigger, and it needs now even harder press..so i ended up uninstalling the app...
I really hate the "recent apps" bug, the sensitivity drops, it's driving me crazy

For press values I wasn't able to get under 28 before or after applying the "Fix". Will keep using it over the day to see if I notice any difference.
Hi guys,
I noticed a decent vertical offset with all my touch inputs. Whenever I press the screen, it recognizes the touch event about 1cm below the actual input I made.
The weird thing is that this happens only in certain apps, speaking of chrome for example.
Furthermore the hover point of my spen is in the right position, but as soon as I touch the screen, it's too low. Very annoying when pressing links in chrome..
Anyone experiencing the same issue? I'm running the latest firmware bmf2 with my n5100
Ps: you can check it by hovering over the screen, pressing the spen button and then drawing a line..
Edit: this example seems to work only with gmd spen control enabled. Nevertheless the described issue is still present when using chrome and spen control disabled...
Edit:
Possible workarounds:
- flip to landscape and back
- use chrome in multi window mode
I can confirm I have the same problem I thought it was just me lol.

Thanks for your reply
Found out a strange thing:
If I start chrome in multi window mode (using alternate window mode) it seems to work just fine. Does this work for you, too?
At least it seems to be a software issue.. probably fixable (hopefully )
It's the same for me too. Only in Chrome and sometimes the top part of the page is hidden under the address bar.
I think is software related.

I had this problem also but only in Chrome. Finally gave up and went to Opera. So far zero problems. I recommend you try that.

Have you posted it to Samsung's pages? If so, got a link? I'd like to help push getting this fixed. Thanks.
This is a known problem in Chrome:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/AL-j4HFZOEc/pHxtMmIaa6AJ
As you note, you can easily fix the offset by switching to landscape mode and back. I'm am curious, though, which other apps you've observed this problem with. The only app I've had a problem with is Chrome.

And gmd spen control. If you activate it (try lite version) and draw a line with spen button pushed, you will notice exactly the same offset. Imo it's the same issue, though I have no idea what should cause it for only a few apps and not for others as well..

Nope, still present. But didn't play much with it since I prefer gesture control. Haven't reported it to the developer either..
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=260804
Please star the issue, unless one of us has some epic insight on how to fix it.
Seems from the comments on the bug that a fix will be coming in Chrome 29, whenever that gets rolled out. Those running Chrome Beta should see it sometime next week.
So when I drag down the mode menu, to the right of the battery percentage a rectangle flashes for a second. I've attached an image. In the image it's black, but sometimes it's green and sometimes it's white. Just seeing if anyone has this.

For me It's a non issue really. Very small item in the scheme of things.

It is, and doesn't seem to affect anything. But it shouldn't happen and you would think they would fix it. It's just a bit sloppy.
Solution
This issue is fixed by changing the font size on the watch to small
Running the latest global beta 7.6.1 ROM just updated tonight... was same on 7.5.16 too
My Google pixel does not experience this.. It is really bad on games too - like Pixel Gun and Minecraft PE
I have similar stuff happening on 7.5.19 Xiaomi EU ROM. But it doesn't bother me.
Basically, I think the ROM gives some tolerance on how far should the initial movement has gone to unlock the pointer from the initial position. Definitely not a hardware problem.
Does anyone else have this issue? I am thinking about returning my MI6.. can anyone else take a video using the multitouch tester like me, and doing a touch and fine movement on the screen without making the circle move? please help! I really need to know if this is just the phone, or whether mine is faulty. thanks so much in advance

Actually the touch is very sensitive, just the way they decide that if you put down the finger like that, no mistouch (no movement is recorded). Whenever I play game, just push enough and move your finger and I have no problem with that (as a habit of gamers, I don't stiched my fingers on the screen that much).
Actually if you put the finger down and move it a little, it move the circle. But if you hard push for longer, slightly move don't move the circle. Hope you can sort it out.

That's what I have suggested to him too.
There shouldn't be a problem if you immediately move your finger upon touch. It's just if you don't move, it'll create some threshold in order to the cursor to be movable from the initial position.
Does the multitouch works good when you are not holding the phone in the hand? try putting the phone on a pilliow and try using 5 fingers on the screen with this multitouch tester app and see if it recognize all 5 fingers.
I had the nexus 7 2013 and it had that problem :/

There's actually no problems at all touching the screen. its only when I touch then drag, I need to move my finger greater than 5mm for it to recognise the finger is moving - if moving the finger slow... Watch the video I posted in first post and you understand.
In a game, for example. playing a FPS game like Minecraft - you select the block you want to remove and then you swipe your finger from that block to the next its very jerky, because the pointer does not unlock with small finger movement. takes big movement then its unlocked. once unlocked its fine - the whole time I don't lift my finger from the screen..
So its really annoying playing games - because I have to touch the screen, then swipe to unlock the pointer, then I can aim and shoot at the enemy or remove blocks in minecraft.
Some have said its the game, but you can also try with the stock launcher - going between screens of apps, you swipe left or right, it takes 5mm finger movement before the screen starts to move to the next..
I tried the inbuilt Finger touch sensor tester, and the touch and move finger 5mm is represented as 2 pixel dots - instead of a line. so something is farked up in the software. I have 2 x MI6 (bought another to test) and both seems the same... Xiaomi need to fix...
Well my Mi 6 is on the way from GearBest China and when i will get it i will install the Global Rom and will try to do this test with this app and will see if i have the same problem as you.
Purchased mine on Gearbest aswell (international rom), came with 8.0.2.0 upgradeable to 8.2.2.0, I upgraded and I have not this problem at all.
Maybe they fixed it with the latest update?

I also have Nexus 7 2013. The problem was jittery touch when you do multi-touch. It's kinda different problem.
But the case in Nexus 7 2013, it can be fixed by pushing the fix via ADB.
Same here.
But i think the developers want it.
I think it is a feature, not a bug. For better usebility.
Yes lol, a feature that we don't really want exactly like the notification light new feature which is that it only have one color - white.
Hmmm.. Maybe I'll order the OnePlus5 when its out... and use the MI6 as a spare

I tested this, on a friends Xiaomi Rednote 4, the touch delay wasn't there as far as we could see, so it doesen't seem to a feature of MIUI, maybe it's a bug or something.
It was running MIUI 8.1 I believe.
If it is a bug, you should ask Xiaomi to fix it.
Is anyone else's 5t pretty sensitive and auto rotates at times you don't want it to just by a small movement?
So this is still driving me crazy, small movements continue to make the screen auto-rotate when trying to do something. Is there any way to calibrate the accelerometer?

this was allways an issue to me on all oneplus devices. Theycan fix this problem by simply raising the rotation trigger treshold. but i guess there are not venough complains. it should be possible with root too but i dont know exactly what file/line to modify.
Yep, I have locked mine to portrait mode which seems to be fine for me 90% of the time for me. I do hope they fix this though..

+100 but unfortunately seems most of the people (including oneplus) don't care.
Yep. I had a thread on this when it first came out.
I wish I could find an app that worked well enough to let me just pick and choose what I want to auto-rotate, but they all are a little flaky.
I've locked it to portrait. This is an OOS issue or all ROMs? Haven't dabbled with any custom ROMs yet, but if it can't fix this annoying issue, I'm all for it.
Had this on all the Nexus ROMs as well....always on portrait does it for me.
Just saw this in the articles section.

Could be worth a try.
