Bingo.

This was suggested before in the sensitivity bug thread. Tried it myself, doesn't do diddly squat, my pressure measurements in the development settings still read in the .40s.

isn't it only for Samsung Galax S up to Android 2.3.x.?

I tried it, set the sensitivity to 0.28 and the time to register a tap to 1 , and the UI really was quicker, overall it was alot snappier, it's not just a placebo... although , i the press values remained the same according to pointer location from developer's settings...
I lowered the sensitivity to 0.26 and managed to get a 0.27 press value, never succeeded before to go under 0.28. Anyways , with lower values than 0.28 and with quick swiping the ui starts to stutter.. not to mention even though the UI felt snapier on 0.28 + register tap 1 , but the sensitivity drop was bigger, and it needs now even harder press..so i ended up uninstalling the app...
I really hate the "recent apps" bug, the sensitivity drops, it's driving me crazy
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

For press values I wasn't able to get under 28 before or after applying the "Fix". Will keep using it over the day to see if I notice any difference.

A lil thanks if you like it will be appreciated ;D
The idea is nice but beeing left handed it triggers accidentally too much for me. Works pretty sweet though. Wish the prox sensor was on the right
Be cautious... Just tried playing with this on CM7 #B30, and almost couldn't get it off my phone. Also, didn't appear to work properly (I'm guessing its a Gingerbread issue). Not sure if these results are typical, but I had to reboot 3 times, uninstall through both the market, and app manager, and without being able to do nandroid yet, I was a little nervous.
Idea sounds great though. It'd be a fun trick to show friends, that's why I gave it a shot.

You don't follow directions. And it worked fine on my gingerbread build. To delete it fully, you first need to to in to settings, locations&security, then select device admin. Untidiness the checkmark, and select deactivate. Then delete.
Personally this was a bit too sensitive for me, but very cool concept.

Great free app - LCD Density (root)

Sorry if this has already been posted before but I came across it and never heard about it before. It changes your screen size like you were changing the resolution on a monitor. I went from 240 default down to 200 and it seems like a perfect size without making everything too small
https://market.android.com/details?id=lv.n3o.lcddensity&feature=search_result
you can also change it from the build.prop...knowing how to edit it is a must for any android user imo

I really never knew about this. To me at least having the smaller scale size looks and feels better than stock. How come we dont see rom/theme releases with this mod?
I think for Developers personal preferences, also I'm not quite sure they could change the build.prop with a theme, but in the case of a Rom I believe that keeping it on a basic level works out in the best for the general population, but also allows those who are more prone to making changes on their own to go ahead and attempt it for themselves.
Thanks for the thread though man, I've been iffy about whether this app would work for the Epic, I truly appreciate it.
Yep build.prop is the way to go.
I don't think I could go back to stock density. 172 looks excellent.
dpesnt the dialer get offset to bottom left when changing the density or is that only on themed dialers?

Very cool mod!...I'm not sure I can go as low as 172, but even a minor adjustment to 200 really makes a wonderful difference...I especially like the overall effect to the launcher.
One drawback though...I'm going to have to retrain my muscle memory because of the slight change in location of various things.
It'll be interesting to see if there's any way to make a minor adjustment to the default dialer so it can properly scale...Also, it looks like I'm going to have to take a look at the Wired Tether app because it looks fairly odd.
.
Edit: I solved the wierd layout in Wired Tether app using appleflap's suggestion in this thread to turn off Compatibility Mode...However, I'm on SRF 1.2, so I did it through Settings-->Lockscreen Parts-->General.
.
OK...After a data wipe of the Market app, I just noticed this density change caused the Market to identify 21 of the 102 apps I currently have installed as not compatible...Bummer.

Sorry for not giving you the heads up.
With my density so low NOTHING works with the new ****ty market. I reverted back to the older market. Where everything is compatible.
What is the pixel density of the Evo 3D? (trying to mimic that if I can)
Also, does this app cause the New market to FC or something?
Hmmm, so does anyone know the step process to changing the density with my phone total crashing with fc? ?

No...The issue is with the version 3x market because there's a new compatibility check in place which references the LCD density value, so this change can cause previously installed apps to appear incompatible according the the new market removing them from your installed list

Voted. Hopefully Google does have this fixed in the next incremental update. It does feel like it takes a bit too long for the screen to rotate. I understand that they didn't want to have the screen rotating inadvertently, but I think they went just a little too far. It isn't awful but it could definitely use improvement.
It doesn't need fixing as it was deliberately set that way by Google - it's not a bug!
I like the delay as otherwise the phone would be changing orientation all the time as I move!!!

They should let users decide if they want a delay.
I like how people argue about how Android is so awesome cause of it's customization and it's open etc and then when there is a design decision made that people hate, others have to defend Google by saying how good the decision is and nothing needs to be fixed etc... If it's so great and open and customizable then Google should let the user decide if they want a delay or not.
@[email protected]????
There is no issue if you watch YouTube reviews it has been said that this is clearly a transition effect. Every person that has showed the screen rotation has the same effect and supposed "delay"
I think some of you are comparing it to the iPhone transition when rotating. AOKP has a speed up option I lowered mine and its fine.

Wouldn't that be the same as having the user decide to root their phone to make it faster? This topic is pointless, if your really that nit picky about an issue and want more to customize, then flash a rom. Cry me a river, build me a bridge and get over it.

did you do a sassy z-snap in the air after you typed that? because that's what i envisioned, reading it.
Do people realize that this is not a bug? Before 2.1, android had instant rotation but around Froyo, they added 200ms delay to prevent accidental rotation because it happens quite often and it's annoying. You could just look at the source for a moment and realize this. If you want to change this value, just change it back to 0ms or 50ms.
The delayed rotation isn't an issue, but it's pretty buggy and doesn't register often, like the sensor falls asleep and u gotta shake it to wake it back up - then it works fine again (with the proper delay).
I always chuckle when my wife shakes her phone, thinking it will wake up or rotate due to shaking
It's like my Dad when he used to move the Nintendo controller when Mario jumped - couldn't stop laughing!

[Q] Input Lag

I went from an Optimus 3D to the Note II
The Note 2 is times better of course, but there is one thing i cant get over.... INPUT LAG
The Optimus 3D is much more responsive in games... I just cant get the timing right in most games because of it... its very noticble
Is there anything i can do about this?
No there is no solution. The Tegra 3 devices have the lowest input lag. The Note 2 is a horrible device. The Nexus 4 is by far the "smoothest" Android device i.e. there is much less microstuttering in the animations, but it also have visible input lag. If you want minimimal input lag buy an iPhone. Once you use an iPhone 5, you'll facepalm for every Android device that you foolishly thought was responsive or had "surpassed" the iPhone.
You might want to try aosp on your phone.

It's a hardware issue. No ROM can counter the input latency between when you touch the screen and it registers the touch.
I think it's do with software optimization/config. I'm not that thorough with this kind of issue but I read a while back its just the way android and iOS handles touch input. The lag is probably due to the way android processes between an accidental or intentional touch.

Accidental touch filtering will have no effect when dragging an object on the screen. Even while dragging a list or page it is centimetres behind you finger. On iOS it is almost stuck to your finger. The Show Touches developer option will demonstrate this clearly.
The problem exists because of the nonstandard 58hz display refreshrate on our note2. There's no way to get around it.
from my understanding, most of the lag is caused by project butter. vsync with constant triple buffer means frames are being prerendered, which means response to touches will be seen 2-3 frames behind each time. thats around 16.6ms of lag introduced per prerendered frame (assuming 60hz), which can be noticeable in fast paced games.
I havent noticed any input lag with the Galaxy S/S2/S3 and Note 1, I would suppose all of the devices have the same input lag?

Hi,
Then you probably don't notice it, maybe cause for you, this is the way a phone has to respond, and maybe you're not used to very low latency devices (and also screen and computer mouses that can sometimes approach 0ms latency).
My hope is that a screen can't have that much latency, so it HAS to have a way to reduce this horrible input lag. Yes, for me it's horrible cause i'm used to no latency, and there is obviously more than 1/10s latency here : more than my SGS1.

Nope, doesn't help, cause maybe you don't even notice it, like at least 80% of poeple.
I'll try rooting and your app first, thanks for trying to help.
psycotrompus -> Not a problem to be limited to 60fps, as the screen is 60hz (or 58hz here, not sure), but for sure yes : Vsync adds latency, it pre renders between 2 to 4 frames, so 2 to 4x 1/60s : 30 to 60ms latency, just for that step. Add the capacitive detection, the screen hardware input lag : Can be easy 120ms latency minimum. :s
I consider that after 50ms, the feeling isn't even natural, and above 100ms, it feels unresponsive.
I'm still searching but i'm not sure if old methods for rooting are working on the updated ROM, if i could avoid formating or using my JigRig, would be good , please does anyone know ?
It's pretty bad on the Note 2 I find. My old Desire was better as is my wife's Xperia Ray.
For anyone who doesn't notice it bring down the notification bar and move your finger up and down and your finger can easily be 2cm ahead of where the bar is on screen. Or maybe don't do it or you might start noticing it.

You can also go to your app list, put your finger on an icon, move right and left (or up and down depending of the scrolling orientation of your app list), quite fast => If at anytime you're able to see the icon that is supposed to be under your finger, means the display's late compared to your finger, and you can conclude that there IS input lag. Then if you don't notice it in basic use, then good for you, but I (some of us) do.

Fix for lag/delay when hitting multitasking capacitive button

Not sure if someone else already posted but I figured I would share what I found. YMMV
If you're experiencing a delay in response when hitting the multitasking(recent) capacitive button (the one that's to the left of your home button) I may have found a way to speed it up.
In settings > accessibility > dexterity and interaction > touch and hold delay
Change it to custom. When you customize it take your finger off as soon as it turns green. Faster is better.
It seems to have done the trick for me. Let me know if works for you.
