Hello Guys,
yesterday I tried to flash cyanogenmod 10.1 on my phone an i got this error.
assert failed: getprop("ro.bootloader") == "1.28.0000"
My CID is VODAP102 an I think the problem is that i have a to old Version of hboot für this rom.
when i use the command
fastboot getvar version-main
i got the answer
version-main: 1.28.161.9
Is this my hboot version?
Can anyone help me.
My Handy is hanging in a bootloop now. :crying:
That is your main version.
Hboot you can read in the bootloader. Probably you will have to update hboot, because 1.28.xxx is rather old...

I also suggest you switch of your phone, charge the battery and restore the nandroid (if you have made it).
Specific VODAP102 nandroid (hboot 1.36) you can find in General theme.

Did you flash stock boot.img and recovery.img?
Usually, when HOX gets into bootloop, it's because boot.img is missing. You should find the one in my nandroid. Flaash it, and see how it goes.

I just flashed the boot.img
Now i startet fastboot in my bootloader
flashed the recovery.img 2 times with the command
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
the answer was 2 times [Okay]
then i flashed boot.img 2 times with the command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
the answer was 2 times [Okay] again.
then i started recovery with my smartphone
then i restored your nandroid -> completly Successfull
Now im hanging in the startscreen "quietly brilliant"
my hboot version ist 0.94.0000. Could that be the reason?
if it is so, can you tell me how to update it and send me a link of the correct version.
I found an .exe file but is wasn´t executable

I am not completely sure about it, because this action should have updated your firmware, too. Is your hboot 0.94 after restoring nandroid?
If so, find proper firmware (1.36 as minimum), and flash it, too. It should be in general, or q&a section, I can't remember right now. It should be .img or .zip file I think.
Also, try wiping cache, that might be also a reason for your problems.
Remember to keep your battery well charged!

Press power let it shut down then press volume down button to go to hboot then select fastboot, connect your device to PC and run the file that I said above.
Where did you go to do "Hard Reset" that you mentioned earlier ? If it is Factory Reset on hboot, that's the screen I want you to go. Then press power once to go to fastboot then run the CID-checker.bat

You said your device is unrooted so I guess it is not unlocked too.
If yes, only hTC service centre can help you (if the warranty still valid)
If no, you can only flash a custom ROM or restore a Nandroid backup for your CID but this is only after you unlock the bootloader.

Extract below Token.zip and run the Token.bat (just like you did for CID) don't press any key to continue.
See if you have series of numbers then yes you still can unlock the bootloader.
I'm going out now.. maybe someone else will help further. I check this thread when I'm home later (in next 4 or 5 hours).
If you have the numbers.. read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598964
read and understand the Unlocking Your Bootloader part and try to do it, no need for other part.
I believe you have to install fast boot commands/folder and stuff first that's why its saying its a unrecognized command.. that's what happened to me.

If you download x3reme rom make sure you copy the boot.img from the zip to your computer and fastboot flash boot boot.img after you have installed the rom

Hi, Im really sick of my HOX. I have so many questions.
I had official stock rom in my HOX, but it have Wi-Fi issue - 3.18.401.1. So I badly decide to install custom rom, I didnt took a nandroid backup of the stock rom and the only one i took is rooted rom. Then I installed CM 10.1 and the wi-fi issue disapear, thats good, but it is very unoptimized for HOX - battery, USB cable, photos,... So I need to back to stock. Thats my story and I have many questions:¨
1)To go back to stock I need RUU or there is more options?¨
2)I cant use any RUU because I had installed the latest firmware. Can I change the version of firmware in my phone to use RUU?
3)Who depevelop RUUs? How can I officially get it? When they are going to release new version of RUU?
4)To go back to stock need I the same version of I had (3.18.401.1) or newer?
5)Can HTC (I can pay for it) flash me the original ROM, if I have voided the warranty?
Thank you for your responds. I m really nervous because I need it as soon as possible because I fly to the USA and I want to have reliable mobile device with WIFI. SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH

HTC releases RUU's. Those are the official updates. Haven't seen an hBoot update for the HOX for awhile. It was a know issue that the 3.18 base has wifi issues. You can switch to any ROM with 3.19 base (most of them) and your wifi issues should clear up. Sense ROM's for me have always seemed to be less glitchy/more stable than non-sense.

1. Either a RUU or a nandroid backup. There are plenty of stock backups available on XDA.
2. No
3. HTC develops them. They are never official releases, they're leaked by HTC staff.
4. Same or newer.
5. I guess so but there are easier (and cheaper) ways of doing it.

Can you write me a link with instructions and nandroid backups of stock android.
RUU's are stock. Here is the link to the web page you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140308 . You need to find the right RUU for your phone depending on where it was manufactured at. You'll just have to read a bit to figure that out. HTC won't individually send you a RUU, you just have to download it.

The 3.18 and 1.29 are referring to two completely different things. You can update, forget about the 3.18 with RUU's. Put this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDMsIm9yZy50cml0b25zb2Z0LmNpZGdldHRlciJd on your phone and it will tell you your CID. Write this down or something. It should look like HTC_001, or something similar. Then you can go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 and look for your CID and download and flash and you'll be back to stock.

I have flu! :crying: Sorry for all stupid things i done and I really thank to all of you who responds me and helps me I hope I succesfully do that stuff tommorow! And one hopefully last question can I use it in case of warranty after that or not?
Warranty depends on hardware issues or not. They know the bootloader was unlocked, because it says relocked and not locked again. So they might won't give warranty.
But please stay in one thread now !

As I predict some more problems and questions:
1) If I try to use the recovery it says MD5 mischeck or something like that. I found the solution with using adb but if I try it, it wrote device not found, I cant use Massstorage (i dont know why).
2) If it will be succesful can I use OTA?

No offence, but you really shouldn't have been doing any of this in the first place.
You clearly understand nothing about any of the processes your trying to do.
1- Go into Recovery (CWM) and Mount USB
2- Now From your PC create a folder in the root of the storage and call it "clockworkmod"
3- In the "clockworkmod" folder create another folder named "backup"
4- Extract the .zip file in that folder (do not change the name of the folder extracted cause it could give md5sum problems)(also the folder name must not have any space between words)
5- Before continuing on the phone, open that folder from the pc and copy the boot.img in the folder that you prefer
6- Reboot phone into Fastboot mode and flash the boot.img by typing
Code:
CWM NAND: fastboot flash boot path/to/boot.img
TWRP NAND: fastboot flash boot boot.emmc.win
7- Reboot the phone into Recovery again
8- Go to Backup & Restore> restore> and here choose the folder previously extracted, and that's it
FOLLOW THESE AND TELL US WHICH NUMBER YOU GET STUCK AT. FIND THE RIGHT NANDROID TO START WITH !!!
Thank you for all who really help me
I thank all so much for your patient with me! I successfully went back to stock!
Hi all
I am currently running TWRP and CM10.1 and looking to return to stock. I have tried running an Orange UK RUU that I found but it gives me a version error.
The info I have is as follows:
version-main: 3.16.61.6
cid: ORANG001
hboot: 1.36.0000
radio: 5.1204.163R.30
Not sure how much of that information is necessary! Sadly, I have no backup of my stock ROM... ooops.
Any help pointing me in a direction that would get me back up and running would be awesome.
Thanks
James

Cheers, will check that out. Currently trying to restore nandroid backup from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Will let you know how it goes.
ye you can use nandroid 2. remember to flash stock recovery for your hboot and kernel boot.img or you will have bootloop
Skickat från min HTC One X via Tapatalk 2
---------- Post added at 01:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ----------
if its same cid that you have then relock you bootloader after youre finish. if cid from nandroid not matching your cid then dont relock or you will have bootloop. only when you got an ota then after that you can relock. or just leave it alone

The restore from nandroid worked a treat - back to stock recovery and re-locked bootloader. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

No problem. We are here to help eachother :.-)
Hello,
I've been recently trying to install few times the Android Revolution HD 10.2 ROM however I always fail. Same happened with previous version.
After the ROM installs, i hit reboot and then nothing. It just freezes on the htc logo (with "developer" text) and nothing happens.
So my question is, what am I doing wrong?
I have no problems with installing ViperOne and all of the non-stock based ROMs.
I can't get S-OFF, so I hope it isn't neccessary
Please keep in mind that I'm pretty new at using HTC One m8, however I have experience with android.
If you have the HTC__001 cid or any which is WWE/ Europe you can and MUST flash the firmware.zip for 2.22.401.4 ...otherwise it won't boot or many things will be broken...all necessary things can be found in each Rom thread, how to flash things and what you need etc...Also which recovery do you use and did you flashed a few mods or so afterwards?

Ok, so I don't really know what this CID is. I've seen people talking about this but can't really tell what it is for. Is this some kind of ID a device, for which country it's meant?
You said "flash 2.22.401.4" firmware. Now I would have to find out how to do that (after I do that, will I be able to normally downgrade to 4.4.2 or will there be some problems?)
There's flashtool for Xperia's, Odin for Samsungs and is there a simillar software for HTC devices (I have something called All-In-One_Kit)?
I've seen also something like RUU, but I would need to fix fastboot, as it isn't working after fresh install of Windows.
My CID: HTC_032
Recovery: TWRP 2.7.1.0
Kernel: Unknown, the one that comes with ViperOne (Already tried flashing ARHD with elementaX kernel)
Current version of firmware: 1.54.401.5

Agreed. Messing with things like firmware, without the proper knowledge is a surefire way to brick the phone.

RUU isn't going to help you with any of this (s-off, flashing firmware packages, etc.). Its just to restore to a stock image (ROM, radio, hboot, recovery).
I really recommend you get fastboot working. You need adb/fastboot to get s-off anyway.
Toolkits are only of limited use. They don't do anything you can't do manually with a few adb or fastboot commands. And many would say if you can't handle doing these things manually, you shouldn't be messing with the phone at all.

Yeah, I would need RUU to get to stock 4.4.3.
I can't get s-off, firewater isn't working with my phone, and I don't want to choose the paid method, as I will probably soon change this device anyway.

I see what you're saying: RUU to stock, OTA to 4.4.3 to get the firmware package, then unlock bootloader again, install custom recovery and install ARHD.
Exactly, or RUU already to 4.4.3 skipping the ota.

There is no ruu just system dumps/ recovery flashable zip of stock Rom
---------- Post added at 06:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:28 PM ----------
Also there is no need of using a RUU... You can just download the stock Rom zip, flash back stock kernel and stock recovery...but only if that Rom matches your cid...If not you have to take a nandroid backup from Mr hofs collection thread...

Thank You, You gave me so much information I needed to know more about this device.
I've found a link like this but I can't find my cid
So for example flashing "CID HTC__001" file would brake my device?
P.S. I'm currious what would happen if I flashed wrong CID firmware. Could You tell me more about flashing wrong one. Would it work normally, had some issues, wouldn't boot or wouldn't I be even able to flash this?
EDIT: Hehe, the link I provided is Mr hofs thread. So what now, if my CID isn't there? Can I just use any version that is for Europe, like eg. germany?
EDIT 2: Flashed stock, deodexed ROM 4.4.3, but still no luck with ARHD

If you are now s-off just get super cid with fastboot oem writecid 1111111 I hope enough ones xD or just write a cid like HTC__001 ... If you have further questions write me a pm and we can talk over hangouts or pm here... easier to follow the progress
Ok, finally got it.
I had to flash "SkyDragon+M8+Sense+444+Kernel+V2.0.1".
Now it's testing time.
Let's see if this ROM is so good.
EDIT: There's nothing cool in this ROM
Going back to skydragon.
Yea arhd is like stock Rom and yea nothing special about it
Hahaha aww man, do you not read what each ROM does before installing it so you know beforehand what you're getting yourself into?
Nah, I didn't. I saw many people were using it so I thought it must be good, but it isn't (no special features).
However I wanted to learn how to make it work, and I must say that the htc is the weirdest phone I ever had. Flashing a rom can't be done logically, here nothing works as it should in theory
Sent from HTC One m8, or maybe not anymore
I often see people who aren't able to get arhd working...but I really don't know why..the normal cwm recovery doesn't work as it should...use instead twrp or Philz...both are working foo and with Philz backup and restore is working where in twrp most of the m8 are having problems :/ I really don't have problems to install a custom Rom.
I got the phone, tried it one day stock, wanted to get a custom Rom, unlocked boot loader flashed custom recovery and afterwards Rom and elementalx kernel...without problems.. few months later was able to do s-off with sunshine and after that most things where again easier

Do you have unlocked bootloader? If you have, just install adb and fastboot drivers, then plug m8 into pc and enter fastboot mode. Watch from 2:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HWj_1KHbuY and do the same
after you do all that, just put some rom into sdcard or usb, and flash it.

You can't find the proper RUU? Did you try to run an RUU not meant for your device? You should just get errors and the process should halt.
What does it say next to "OS" in your bootloader menu? That will tell you your current firmware version. Does it have two different versions with the newer one in red? If so you need to run the RUU again. The first run just updated the hboot.
There's nothing on the os.

Post the results of fastboot getvar all. Edit out your IMEI and serial# from it first. That is private information you should never post on a public forum.

Why can't you write your

If you have those data .. check the thread linked in my signature to see whether there is one backup for you or not.

Version-main blank (of course same as OS in bootloader) You need to update your recovery @fitsuhaimi

Go to @ckpv5's thread. Link here.
You'll need the backup that is 4.24.709.2 (judging from your baseband you are on Lollipop). The 709 part is crucial! That is for your version of M8 and you can't flash a backup (or RUU, or firmware) made for other versions.
Can you tech me step by step what i should do.
im not that good at this kinda thing but im really interested in learning. And also it can save my phone.

First thing you need to do is update your recovery to TWRP 2.8.7.0.
Then go to the thread I linked you to, and follow the instructions in post #1 (skip the first step~update recovery). You'll need the 4.24.709.2 backup that is in post #3.
You can stop at step 9. You just need the ROM backup and not the stock recovery. After step 9 just reboot.
