One more question even though my phone is unlock I thought that the phone will work if you put in a SIM card from another carrier that it would work even though they are on different networks?

I'm wondering if I can like flash the factory ROM/radio/bootloader for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus onto the Verizon one and basically turn it into a Sprint phone?
I know they're really the same device so I think it could be done with the Nexus Toolkit easily, but before I try I want to know if it really can be done, I know any carriers Sim Card works so why not this too?
Thanks to any that provide info

Not a chance.
verizon cdma radio will work fine on sprint, no need to try to flash a sprint one.
lte obviously will not work at all no matter what you try.
of course getting sprint to recognize the phone is another matter and more trouble then its worth considering the same phone is available on sprint with working lte.

They are not the same device. They are sufficiently different hardware that you wouldn't be able to activate even if you found a Sprint CSR that would be willing to lose their job by adding the MEID to their database
I have a really quick and easy question. Im planning to buy an at&t gs3 phone from craiglist but im planning to use it on a different carrier, gosmart, what are the things I have to look for? Im sorry this sounds very elemental but I have always used sprint and I really dont know much about sim card.
Thank you very much for your time!

At&t phones operate on gsm. Make sure gosmart is a gsm carrier. Also, depending on the carrier, you may not see LTE speeds
Well i assume you would have to unlock it which is now illegal without carrier permission so you would have to call at&t and have them unlock if it doesn't already come unlocked
Gosmart uses a sim card( tmobile) but im not worried about lte speeds. What im worried is at&t claiming back their phone. Now this guya in craiglist says he bought the gs3 and then his job gave him the iphone, so he has no use for it. Will at&t will automatically unlock it when he got the iphone?

Unfortunately there is no fast way. PUKs are unique by SIM card. Only your service provider will know the PUK specefic to your SIM card. In addition, do not guess the PUK 3-5 wrong guesses will completely lock the SIM and then you'll need to order a replacement SIM card.

I recently acquired a t-mobile galaxy S3 (t999l)running stock 4.1.2, however my current provider is metropcs and in order to use it i have to unlock it. I currently dont have the money to pay for that so i want to downgrade it to 4.1.1 to do it for free. I was wondering how i could go about downgrading step by step. I would also like to have it rooted.
There is no 4.1.1 for t-999l.. And you don't need to unlock T-Mobile phones to use them with metroPCS.. I know because I've worked for metroPCS.. In other words, you're good to go!!

I tried putting my already activated metropcs sim card in and it asked for sim unlock code. Is there anything I can do to resolve that.

What phone did you have before? Was it cdma or gsm? It shouldn't ask for one.. also is your area using cdma or gsm network?

gf reported her phone lost because it was cracked, samsung sent her a new one so now i want her old one. I put in my sim card but it says "Not register to network" im thinking maybe t-mobile blocked the phone somehow since it was reported lost but I figured there was a work around. Friend told me unlocking the phone and setting it to international radios may help but i have no idea how to do this since im new to the android community. Switching from iphone to android! So yeah, please help!
White T-mobile Galaxy S4 on jellybean, updating it to kitkat though.
Yup, T-Mobile blocked it.. There's no legal way around it, maybe your gf calling T-Mobile to unblock it, but they'll probably charge her full price for the one they sent her.. You could try using a different carrier, but it could end up being blocked again.. You could also sell it to someone in another country, blacklist won't go past the US

To international what? But either way no.. Your service is denied everytime the phone tries to register to T-Mobile because the imei is what's being blocked

international radios, gonna unlock the sim. My gfs mom is probably going out of the country so if i unlocked it, she could use it outside the US right?and if she can i take it as she'd have to use a carrier other than t-mobile to do this though?
You can't use international radios.. And I don't know, but I would think so, using a local carrier should be fine

There are services that will fix this for you. I payed 35$ for my blocked tmobile s4 to be repaired.
I did this with an HTC EVO 3D. It was locked for 2 years so I flashed the phone to a different carrier and it worked. You might have problems with different features but it is posibble to still use the phone. Find a cellular store that will flash it. They normally charge around 50 dollars, give or take.

This is not a CDMA phone, you can't flash it like that.. And like I said, you can unlock it and it may work with another carrier but it can end up being blocked again, I've seen it happen

This happens to me sometimes and what I do is go under mobile networks and
Go to network operators and I let it load and then it registers on the correct network.
