[Q] Return to "locked" signature - HTC One X

Hi everyone,
I am new in the modding world of android and i am enjoying myself to try different ROMS on my HOX.
I think that me, like a lot of other people, have the problem of wifi signal: the HARDWARE problem.
Everybody of us know that the problem is joined to hardware because when we press between the camera and the volume up of our phone with ours fingers the signal goes up.
QUESTION:
Is there the method to make return our One x with the LOCKED signature in order to have no problem with htc warrently?
I would like to have a specifical guide, not a general guide if it is possible, because i read somewhere that there is an idea of the operation, or that someone have sent is phone in Russian for to relock with the LOCKED signature, but i've never found a good guide like for example the good guide of the installation of a rom.
If someone could help me I would be very grateful for it.
Thanks =)

Not possible without s-off even then not sure anyone knows what to change

yeah, that's going to cost you money though. Might as well open it up and use solder or foil fix like I did.

So you have been able to make return one x soff or you sent it abroad?

There are services that offer you to soff if you send them your phone.
I wouldn't trust it, shipping your phone around the world just to soff honestly not worth the risk.
Even if you got it back to locked they still have Imei number when you unlocked.

Yeah, you're overthinking this one a bit. Just write a formal letter, letter explaining your a piece of *** and that you rooted your phone when you were a kid bc you didn't know any better but your daddy whooped your ass and taught you a lesson and you solemnly swear to never do it again. Just kidding. Write a letter explaining your phone was stolen and when you finally got it back you had found the phone was infected or something so they wont suspect you did anything and you'll be good to go.
My Z was rooted when I sent it back to repair the powerbutton. I got it back for free with the stock-ROM on it. I heard nothing about root and I did not have to pay a penny.
but htc has released the boot loader unlocking tool (root?) so doesn't that mean its okey for htc that we have custom roms running on these.

Yes and no. The thing is, with the unlock bootloader thing they made it so that if you get it they keep track of who you are (in order to properly void your warranty) so if you rooted in a different way to them it's just as "bad"

i need help rooting 2.3

i just got a g2 and it has 2.3 on it im a noob as this and i really dont know how to root i heard from a friend that i have to downgrade it but idk how
is there a way that i can just root it with to?

I think a lot of your information is outdated, for example Visionary is extremely outdated for most of the firmwares that's out now. The method outlined in the XDA Wiki as well as the Cyanogenmod Wiki is proven to work without fail (with the assumption that the end user actually follows the instructions to the letter).
The one click method tends to have problems and ends up in here for help, and far as hearing about it, normally hear complaints about their phone being bricked and how to fix it, they don't go into details exactly on "how" they bricked it, just that they whine and whine to unbrick it.
PS: I wish there was a way to remove an accidental thanks.
Well true there are some bad one click softs out there thats why i recommended what i have tried without problems........the fact that some are bad does not make dem all bad if only we bring up those that have bricked phones and those that helped cos not anybody has it easy with the XDA method by the way i recommend what i have tried so trust me what will i get by bricking someones phone (same module and and it worked)
PS:giving back your thanks.....

But of course with lack of information (ie: what phone did you have, what firmware was it at, was it originally Froyo, etc?), people attempting to do the same tends to cause problems.
Though in my opinion, if you can't handle the method outlined in the XDA wiki (which will work with any version of the phone, including instructions for making a gold card), then it's probably not the best idea to even attempt having a rooted phone.

although it doesnt say this when unlocking the phone, it does however say in their warranty statement that the warranty is still intact for problems not caused by unlocking the bootloader. feel free to check it out..
not to say you won't have to argue with them to get a free repair, but if you persisted you should be able to get it
i had to wait until couple of days ago to root (had hox since launch) as i've been waiting to get the phone actually fixed first from wifi issues etc so hopefully won't actually need the warranty now.. and IF the worst happened and there was no way i could get htc to repair without conning me, then vodafone would repair themselves under the seller warranty. failing all of that, then i could just claim on insurance i guess. but to be honest htc would probably end up reparing anyways.

yeah or unrepaired, took me 4 months and 6 different hoxs and 2 failed repair jobs, then the final repair job which finally sorted everything
shouldn't be this bad, but its the companies htc are contracting out to do this, not htc to be fair. htc should fire em and use someone else.
anyway, although you shouldn't have to, just persist with them, if they send it back in worse condition, then send it back to them again and again until they get it right.
most recent repair job for me, they had it for 2 days, and repaired several issues, both times before when i sent it to them, they had it for longer, and only reflashed software, so maybe over last couple of months they've sorted their procedures or somethign...

Just wanted to shed some positive info since it is most likely the case that only negativity is more ominous than positive results.
In my case I unlocked my phone, rooted , a week later I realised I have a WiFi issue. Couldn't help but think damn I'm screwed. Sent in my phone rooted with supersu and a custom ROM (ADHD) at that time, got my phone fully functional after two weeks. No warranty lost and all good and well. Not saying your experience will be the same. But up to you I'm the long run. I love taking risks .. part of my personality

my hox is branded vadafone, my fear is that tomorrow will not release updates, so I have to change cid, and without s-off you can not.
jb official update is already out for a while but Vodafone still has not released anything.
if we do not change cid I see it hard for branded devices.
My phones CID is Optus001 which means I'll be on ICS for a while longer, ICS does not stop my phone doing what I want it to do. Relax a bit, it will come.

I believe an experienced developer needs to have a deep-look into S-off and then we might have some hope. But for now, we have to take use to this.
can i say something regarding XDA in general??? I am freaking pissed off with people now days not freaking going by the rules no more...
OP..Have you actually tried to bother to search firstly before opening this thread? No you have not.. Cause if you did you would know what is happening regarding s-off...So as regarding that we do not have it..Big deal..Learn on how to flash a custom rom without s-off. Also regarding JB..There are so many threads which discusses the whole situation regarding CIDS and so on..
So again why was there a need to open this thread. None at all..Just another pointless wasted thread and space and it is really starting to piss me off..
And to others here as well...You moan about this being another thread but you lot are just as bad as well by carrying on debating about stuff in this actual thread..Report the damn thing and move on...
I really miss the days back in the S2 forums were if there was a useless thread opened it was shut within an instant of it getting opened..Nowadays here at this forum you get nothing but bundles of useless threads and the attitude of a few members on this community has started to suck big style cause they freaking do not know the meaning of respect and they also do not know the meaning of freaking searching for something instead they expect to be spoonfed on how to freaking do **** on there smartphones...i really hope someone bricks there **** due to the stupidity of not doing the proper research...
XDA has changed. More mainstream. It's normal looking at how communities grow, develop and change.
I viewed XDA as a non member for 2 years before joining after getting an Android phone. Things have changed aplenty.

Hey Mr Hofs, if you remember, I had an issue with a messed up HTC ONE X a while ago, that HTC ONE X was S-OFFed for sure. I found out that they use a "GoldCard" and "HOX Files" so S-OFF devices, but this method is what a guy that does S-OFF gave me, he doesn't really cooperate with me, just gave me the link. The physical "GoldCard" is very expensive, costs almost like a new HOX, but I do wonder if this method should work.

This is for the Galaxy S4 or something, and it mentions HTC ONE S too.. dunno
---------
My question is (to the Chinese understanders) what are the exact instructions, I edit the TXT file that they mention, but do they say that I can change the Main-Version to whatever I want, and the CID to whatever I want??? or something else?
P.S., if you look on the last reply page on that Thread, you can see it is quite active, i see posts from "3 hours ago" saying "thanks" and what not. But you need to reply in order to download the file so it's not really an indication of this method working. :-\

Like I said, the two HOXs came with an Australian CID OPTUS001. And a Version-Main: 4.29, which does not exist in the OPTUS001 CID RUUs, which means I couldn't use RUU to get back to stock in order to update later to JB.
I went through it with Waseem on this forum and we found out that the phones were definately S-OFFed. God knows why the heck someone did this, but Chinese have an S-OFF technology.
I coule buy the Goldcard for S-OFF, but it costs like 400$... So I am trying to find a cheaper way in their forums.

Yeah and I am sure people that are much more talented than me in development are working on it. But the Chinese have a way of hiding stuff from the world, and they might've done something that works.
I had an idea to buy the Javacard and then "rent" it to anyone who needs S-OFF. But I am not sure people will be interested
