Hello everyone! get
I didn't see a thread here for cases so here it is!
So far, as anyone can imagine, there are not too many cases out yet for the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. But there are a few on amazon and ebay. I think I am going to buy a cheap-o one for right when I it (I pre-ordered the tablet on amazon.com) and then a nice one when it comes out. Here are my favorites so far. What do you think?!
I will edit and update with more as they come in...

What I am really looking for is a case with a certain type of hinge that doesnt seem to be popular for some reason. It looks like this:

If anyone can find one like this example for the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition I would be forever grateful

If I don't find one with a hinge like I have pictured above I will probably get the official one when it comes out depending on price:

Video with what appears to be a smart on/off function (beginning of video) :

i have the transformer version of the ebay link you posted, i can say that the case is pretty decent, no odd fake leather scents or anything, holds the tablet in place nice and snug and the bottom portion hold the dock (this one of course doesnt). it can stand as well, kind of like what you're looking for.

I have used slim-fit style cases on all my tablets, who wants a bulky case on a nice slim tablet? I was going to order this one on Amazon. but shipping from China would get it here late Nov.

Speaking of Samsung accessories, where the hell are they? No where to be found, Samsung's own site doesn't list them and the tablet is what 11 days out. Do they expect us to spend $600+ on a tablet then way 2 months for accessories to appear.

Totally agree. I hope they come out with the book cover at least during launch on Oct. 10th!
That other case looks like the Poetic case... Which by the way I like... I hope they make it for the 2014
... Sent from my tablet, please excuse any typos...
I'm using my mom's galaxy note 10.1 and she has a zenus leather journal case which is very nice. the quality is superb and functionality wise it offers as much as anything out there: two different degrees of view angles in landscape mode and one (iffy) angle for portrait. From what I can' tell this company makes really nice cases. I'm interested to see what will come out for the 2014 edt.
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and Galaxy tab 3 10.1 cases
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and Galaxy tab 3 10.1 seem to have the same dimensions.
Doesn't this mean we can use the same cases as well. Maybe not for all of them since there are differences in ports on the side etc.but some of the cases are fully exposed on the side and as such wouldn't make a difference.
I was looking at the zenus case for the galaxy tab 3 10.1.....I'm thinking it might fit.
(I would post the link but I'm a newbie and the site prevents me from doing so)

If they have the same dimensions I'd imagine it would fit, however there might not be holes/openings in the right places to accommodate the S-Pen, camera, charger, buttons etc.
I wish Logitech would make their new covers for this tablet.
Is there anything similar in terms of quality and feel of the iPad smart covers? The official Samsung cover looks as close as it can get, but what material is that?

It should be polyurethane. Slimline Case might be more affordable. Hope Poetic makes slimline for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 soon.
covers for Samsung Galaxy NOTE 10.1 2014 edition
well I also found some variety of covers for Note 10.1 (2014) edition at Fommy...they have variety of covers in multiple brands..I purchased one cover for my iPad from there and the cover quality was really good...

Actually, the dimensions aren't quite the same. The Note is a little bigger. According to AnandTech, the dimensions are
243.1 x 171.4 x 7.9mm (Note) vs.
210.8 x 135.6 x 7.95mm (Tab 3)

What I don't get it why they would come out with a case so late in that tablet's (Tab 3 10.1) lifecycle. Don't they know a new Galaxy tablet is coming out soon?
I've been scouring the net trying to find a case I like, but there aren't really any that I feel are worth the purchase. I need a nice case that can give me views in portrait and landscape. I think I'll just be getting a screen protector for now and hoping a nice case comes out soon.
Well...I bit the bullet and decided to initially go with this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZB3FHA/ref=ox_ya_os_product
It has an estimated delivery of: "Friday, October 18, 2013 - Tuesday, October 22, 2013 by 8:00pm"
I chose this one because I was something, anything, on it until a good case comes out. All the other ones are either being made later or ship directly from China (ebay).
At least the company I just ordered from ships out of norther California so that's good. The tablet will have to go a little over a week naked

Got the reply. Here is it:
Hey x,
I've just asked the product guys, unfortunately we don't know when they're due in yet - we know we're expecting a lot of Galaxy S2 stuff at the end of June but a lot of the accessories are just coming in as and when at the moment.
We also don't have prices for them either, which makes me think that Samsung haven't released these details yet - which gives me the impression they won't be in stock for a while.
Sorry I can't be of more help

and the second it seems, really appreciate the quick response, looks like i might have to get a cheapo one for when i get the phone, but Damn the Sleeve look brilliant. and it can take a shovel or a hammer blow or two.
Really surprised no-ones interested in these Official cases, they seem much better than all the others and offer the best protection available, especially the sleeve which wraps around fully
Youre welcome. Glad to have been of help and thanks again.
Yea the protection seems to be great. The only problem with the cover is that the colour combo isnt too much to my liking. Maybe if they released them in different colours, more people would buy them. The sleeve looks great but I find it too tasking to take it out every time I need to check the phone.
Some of the Tech 21 D3o cases are available for around 8-12 GBP. Although they do not provide the sae protection, my guess is that the galaxy s ii cases would cost anywhere between 15-30 pounds depending on the style and protection it offers.

looks like the shell case (second post) is probable what suits you more, but the colour is a problem, i personally love the blue, but wouldn't mind other colours as well.
Yup Im interersted in that one. But I dont like the dual tones. And even if I could get past that, the blue is a bit too bright for me. Dark blue would have been great.
Just registered my interest in a slip case on the mobilefun site. I have a leather slip case at the moment, but the Sammy one looks quite swish I think.
I registered my interest in the official Samsung D30 leather slip case too .
Let's just hope they don't take too long to release it.
I'm OK for now though, as I haven't even got my handset yet
Yep can't wait also official, car dock seems ace. Someone reviewed and gave it 9.5 out of 10. Check the thread in the same accessories forum.

I emailed Mobile Fun regarding the Official Samsung Galaxy S II D30 Leather Slip Case.
Here's the response I received:
Thanks for your email.
I can confirm in answer to your questions please see below;
Is this an original Samsung product? Yes
When is the official release date of this product? Not yet in Production, eta 6 weeks+
What price will you be selling it for? Depends on cost not yet announced
When will you have official pictures of this item on your website? Soon as we get the first one, probably July
Much appreciated
It looks like we'll be waiting a while for this, 6 weeks minimum.
I'll have to buy a cheap case for the time being when I get my phone.
Looking foreward to the rubbery one......hopefully it'll be in black as well

Either that or a sock
Hi, thanx for the links.
any updates on this product?
I bought an IPad stand for my 7 inch Galaxy Tab P1000 and although it is a bit big it supports the Tab in portrait and landscape mode and allows the free flow of air around the Tab which helps to keep it cool and the viewing angle can also be adjusted.
I've discovered a similar stand for the IPhone which I think would also work in the same way for the Galaxy Note but can only find one UK supplier (see link below) but it is not in stock. Does anyone know anywhere else this stand can be bought in the UK?
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/universal-smart-stand-for-mobile-phones-p32691.htm

I ordered a spiderpodium

Not sure if the arms will be able to fit around the Note but if not I will give to my GF for her Galaxy S.
I ordered from brando.com and they just shipped it out, so perhaps try from there (not to mention it's cheaper there)

Yep, I have one too. Love it.
Just like with my SGS2, the Samsung's spare battery charger for the Note is simple, light, convenient for carrying a spare battery, and works great as a stand--vertical or horizontal. It's a proportionally larger version of the same SGS2 accessory.
Nice. I like the stand in the OP. Ordered from Brando as did others, cheaper and in stock, any idea how long they take to deliver to the UK...?

Looks nice, but it weighs as much as a regular phone!
Here's a super lightweight one:
http://pocketnow.com/how-to/how-to-build-a-phone-stand-with-a-business-card
I actually use the flip cover as a stand. I have attached a lanyard to the speaker grille and the flip cover nestles in an indent on the lanyard.
It just occurred to me that the Tetrax X-way, which I bought for my car, would be quite functional as a phone stand. I suppose the rubber is a bit too soft and it'll get smashed up though.

I have just received my stand from Mobile Fun and it is amazing. The quality and design are unbelievably good and it is great for holding the Note horizontal for viewing Web pages or movies. I sit mine on a high level fold-up table and it looks just like a miniature tablet.
Got an email from brando, mine has been shipped!
Well there's a few pre-orders in the Amazon.
Also here's a case from China. Say's it's shipped by epacket. That worries me a bit

Note: DO NOT buy any portfolio type case, or any type case that's custom fit made for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 or one that says made for the Tab and the Note. They will not fit (not even close). I've seen a few for the Tab that say it will fit the Note. The only ones that will fit are sleeves (if they aren't tight fitting that is, as the Note is larger).
There's a great looking cover for the Galaxy Note 10.1 that one reviewer obtained with a pre-release version. Some images on flicr under /photos/eeepcit/sets/72157630750506962/detail/ (I still can't post links). Any ideas where to source one of these from?

Thank you for reconstructing the link. The review was from Netbook News, but the reviewer didn't have any information about availability of the case. Shame as I'm keen to source one...
They got this one on Amazon !
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Navitech-Le...1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1344643600&sr=1-5
However, I emailed Navitech and said that this is not exactly compatible with the Note 10.1 as the Note is 5mm wider and 5mm higher than the Tab, which is what this case was originally designed for.
You can see when you look closely that the Note seems to overhang off the edges a bit.....like 5mm ! It may work, but I am not 100% sure. If they reply it will fit good, I will get it.
I asked Navitech, if they are possibly planning a new design for the Note 10.1.
If I get a reponse, I will edit this post.

Here is another case on eBay. Pu-Leather.

Coming from the Transformer Prime thanks for this I was going to chuck it
I just picked this one up at Best Buy. It is specific for the Note but it was $60. I just want to walk around with a naked tablet.

Will not fit. Trust me. Prepare to return it, or if you are smart refuse delivery. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks exactly like the Note but it's actually considerably smaller, and although a case that's a bit too large is doable, the reverse ain't gonna cut it.
Read through some of the threads. I mean, my first post in this thread stated the warning. I'm afraid a lot of people are going to go this way.
I boought this one made for the galaxy tab 2 and it works perfectly, it even has space for the s-pen, and of course cameras and buttons, only microsd slot is covered

The Note is 5mm wider than the Tab.
I used till now a Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500) and the Note 10.1 does not fit both cases I have (book style cases). It is in all dimensions larger (5 mm width and height, 1 mm depth).
Might order my Note but double checking before buying any ways will this fit on the note?

Picked up my N7 this morning as soon as Best Buy opened, but was a little disappointed in that I didn't find any custom cases/covers for it. I am walking around with it like it's a 1 day old infant. I know Asus is making two types of cases/covers this time around, but I can't find them anywhere to buy.

Anyone find where to get them online...or in store?
droid-life had some amazon links to a case and a screen protector, but the links were dead when I got there.
I saw a case or two listed on amazon.com when I searched for "Nexus 7 2013 case" but I have no idea how reputable the sellers are.
found some more pictures and descriptions on asus website. but I can't link yet.
I REALLY hope these cases hit the street on the 31st with no shortage of supply like the old N7.

I don't expect case till next week some time.... We all got the tablets early... Just don't break them lol
i hope they make the blurex case again like they did for the original....the leather case that turned into a stand and had the hand strap also :good:
Amazon has them listed on the Nexus 7 product page, but the links 404 when you click them. Hopefully they put the case and screen protector up for sale soon.
I'm picking up my 32gb tablet in about half an hour over lunch. Very excited. :highfive:
I just want a SP.

I wanted to order both an SP and Case when I ordered earlier on Amazon as well but both were 404, when I get mine tomorrow just gonna keep it in a spare pouch I have.
Anyone have an experience with Portenzo cases?
http://shop.portenzo.com/new-nexus-7/
I quite enjoyed my Poetic case on my OG N7 and I hope they come along with something similar.
Also, for anyone caring, screen turning on with the magnet still works with the 2013 model. :good:

I have the Portenzo Alano with Intellistand for my OG N7. The case is spectacular. It looks amazing, and I get compliments just about every time someone new sees it. The functionality is also outstanding. The Intellistand is an essential feature, and my device has never slipped out of the grips. I also travel a ton, and I just toss my Nexus into the front pocket of my backpack. My device still looks as good as new.
I would definitely be ordering one for me new Nexus (still debating) except the one drawback is that it adds a fair amount of thickness to the device. In the case, you're looking at about 2.5 times the thickness of a naked Nexus. That might not matter for most people. I have always kept my devices naked (naked N4 is sitting on the desk in front of me), though, and it's been the one thing that's kind of irked me about this case. I have no other complaints though.

I am definitely getting a Portenzo for my N7! Looks like they opened up pre-orders with a nice little discount. Although, no actual images of a new nexus 7 in a case. I imagine the cam hole will be different. They posted a pic on their FB page showing work being done to make the new case.
I was actually surprised to see the N7 in stock for how late in the day I stopped in at BestBuy. Snagged one of the last two available, no accessories for it at all.

all the stores within 20 miles of me north of cincinnati still show in stock online. although a couple dayton ones are sold out
Those Portenzo cases look like Dodocases, which are made of very high quality materials but do jack when it comes to standing up the device. How does the Portenzo keep the device up?
Case without a front cover?
For the original Nexus 7, I have a back-only case (this one, if I'm not mistaken - http://www.i-blason.com/ninja-x-style-tpu-softgel-for-google-nexus-7.html ) and I absolutely love it, because I can then treat the N7 like an oversized phone.
I've been searching, but because there isn't a clear name (Nexus 7(2013), New Nexus 7, Nexus 7 2, Nexus 7-B), I can't seem to find anything.
TY in advance!

With the Alano case, if you get the Intellistand option, the binding edge of the frame is held by two strong magnets on the corners instead of being permanently attached. Since the cover is a flexible leather, you can pull the magnets apart, and it creates a wedge like this:
Very cool, thanks!
has anyone heard any rumours about a keyboard dock for the new galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition? i know samsung used to have one before and cancelled it; but i can only wonder if they've attempted to make another go of it, or even if the older one will be compatible with the new 2014 edition.

No prob...it would be nice to see it get a keyboard dock but I'm not holding my breath. The closest I've seen is a Bluetooth keyboard/case combo like this:

At least there are accessories already unlike some tablets I won't mention

It would be nice if Logitech would make a keyboard case just like the one that they have for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 for this tablet!

You think so? Because according to the Samsung Website, the Tab 3 is 9.57" x 6.93" x 0.31" while the Note 2014 is 9.6" x 6.8" x 0.3"

Careful, that doesn't seem to be true.
According to AnandTech, the dimensions are
243.1 x 171.4 x 7.9mm (Note) vs.
210.8 x 135.6 x 7.95mm (Tab 3)

well darn, i'd really like a way to replicate my trnasformer xD. a bluetooth keyboard would work, but all that'll do is drain my battery wayyy faster....
EDIT: how cool would it be if we got a keyboard kind of like the surface tablets.

the note already takes a good bit to charge, and the battery life isn't amazing. drop a bluetooth keyboard on there and you're gonna need a charger on hand most of the time.
I'm not a fan of any case that covers the bezel of the tablet with leather. They look so cheap and the tab usually flops around inside, often sliding down when the tablet is in folio mode.
i sort of agree with that, i like the leather look samsung went for on this tablet, but if i don't cover the edges there's no way i can get anything i want the case to do done. it won't be able to stand, or tilt or anything. but i do understand the point you're making for the leather ones.
