If i use skype or ooVoo i have the problem that the front camera is full zoomed in.
Back camera is working normal. Has anyone else the same problem and/or a fix?

In Skype, once video chat is connected, double tap on your video (usually stays on the bottom right corner of the screen). This will make your video stream as the primary video and enlarge it, making your callers video small. Now double tap your callers video to make it primary. This swapping temporarily fixes the zooming issue for the call.

Nope, not working... :crying:
I use hangouts... Actually, Skype/hangouts combo. Skype for audio and hangouts for video.
Hangouts audio is too low but it doesn't zoom in like Skype's video.

Use the Options>About Messenger>Report A Problem menu to report this to yahoo if you want it to be fixed.
I was just using this today. Its pretty f'n awesome; Being able to video call to yahoo users really opens up the functionality. Lets hope they add support for the front facing cam soon...
you can always talk in a mirror
it is currently working fine with video chat, it just picks the back camera instead of the front
I tried it at home from my SGS to PC and it worked decently enough
however i tried from my SGS to my friend's iphone4 who is half the world away and it was pretty laggy :<
And the iphone app is still miles better than the android one when it comes to speed. Hope they optimize it soon!
also they released video calling for iphone but it doesnt work on the ipod touch 4 which has 2 cameras.
Has anybody tried voice calling sans the video? How do you rate that? Does it work with earphones? Can you use earphones with video calling and use back camera for that?
You cannot skip the video. Or, at least, I didn't realized how to do that.

I'm with ya on that one...it just sits there "calling".
Yup with ya. Installed Yahoo messenger and set up a second test account. Try calling from phone or PC and nothing happens on the other. Call is not notified and ends as unanswered.
May be there are only some lucky people who can Make Video Calls Right Now ... Looks like we will have to wait for the Official Yahoo Video Version for Us

I'm running SGS with 2.2 froyo here, and the answer is no it doesn't work with headset, and there is a big feedback between the phone speaker and its mic, you'll keep on hearing echo.
By the way it works when you call the computer with the phone but not vice versa. The voice quality was great, if you are hearing it from the computer but if you are using the phone you will keep on hearing echoes.
It only recognize the back 5mp camera, and even there is a switch camera option, still you couldn't choose the front camera when chatting.
But still this was one great app, at least somehow it is working... hope there will improvements when it comes to compatibility with SGS when the official version comes out.
Hi,
I have Sprint Touch Pro 2 and I have noticed that the YouTube app that comes preinstalled does not play sound, but only plays video. Is there any way to fix this problem? Thank you.

Yep. Played movie before trying youtube. I take it that it works without problem in yours?
I believe there is problem with HTC codec for sound when using HQ from youtube. The only fix that I've heard of is to download the LQ stream. And the only way I know of doing that is by using GPRS rather than WiFi.
So if you are using WiFi that's most probably the reason. Hopefully someone can help with a better fix than this.

You should be able to select the quality within the app by going to Settings > Video Playback Quality > Fast Download.

I may be mistaken but I believe the issue is consistent with apps that use WiFi to make use of their service, instead of Data. The audio lags over the wifi connection. So it's not the app itself, as the issue persists across many apps ie. skype, fongo/dell voice/magic jack.

I'm not entirely sure myself but its definitely not a Skype issue, its some sort of general audio issue and using Skype just seems to be the easiest way to reproduce it. Adam77 mentioned he thinks he knows whats up with it so hopefully we will see a code patch that can be applied to all affected ROMs soon.
yes its a genral audio problem as also the video camera can't record sound as well as the sound recorder. its a general bug in the sound.

No, the problem is when mic audio is routed to userspace, playback becomes distorted. You don't need Skype to reproduce it -- start music playing, then open Sound Recorder. Start recording. Music will stop. While still recording, resume playing via the notification bar. Ugly ugly noises come out.
Does Skype video calls work on N7 2013? Has anyone tried? Thanks.
re: skype and video...
I have been able to do skype video calls, as such - but with issues regarding zoomed in focus of the correct camera but my problem is that when I try to send a video message recorded with skype it selects the wrong (front side camera - facing away from me...)
Anybody found a way to tell skype-for-android to use the other camera?
Facit: skype + nexus 7 2013 is catastrophic right now.
Skype video calling works fine for me. Slim beta 4 ROM with bulletproof kernel. Change cameras by tapping on video camera icon, it rotates through the two cameras. Zoom isn't quite correct for front camera, a little too zoomed in. Otherwise no issues.
Haven't tried saving video.

It seems, every other review is bashing Oneplus 3 for the poor quality audio in the video taken by Oneplus 3. It seems so in those videos too. It sounds horrible.
To those who have already got their One, could you provide some feedback on this?
Took a test video (4k) today, myself speaking a bit and playing guitar a bit. Sounded OK, by far not as bad as many Youtube videos shot with the OP3.
It is exactly the way these reviews describe it.
Ambient noise is basically completely filtered out.
I really hope this can be improved by software because right now it is the worst
quality I got so far from a smartphone.
Can it be fixed? or is it a hardware issue?
This seems to be the noise cancelation being activated on video, which it shouldn't be.
Totally software, but I really hope they fix it. Makes video recordings sound terrible .

I sure hope the 3.1.4 update fixes it since there are audio optimizations. I've found a workaround by plugging in ear buds or headphones while recording.

I used a pair of headphones without a mic so it would still have been the mic on the phone.

Hmmm it must have been working last night when I was video chatting with Facebook Messenger but I can't reproduce the results in Snapchat or any other recording app. Damn shame but it seems like my only choice for now is to use my earbuds with a mic until this is fixed.
This can definitely be fixed with changes to the mixer_paths.xml file. After much anger and try and error I determined that the phone uses the file "mixer_paths_tasha.xml" and not the regular "mixer_paths.xml" file. I alos found that when recording with google camera it uses the "speaker-stereo-dmic-ef" audio path.

Would just deleting the "tasha" file have adverse effects or would it just default back to the correct xml file?
