I am thinking getting a quadlock universal kit, has anyone had experience with this? I was thinking of a super cheap flat surface case, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?
IE, get a really cheap snap on type of case that I can put the phone into that I can put the quad lock adapter onto.

hi,
i bought the otterbox and cut a hole in the rubber case for the quad lock.
Hi i also have SGS4A with OB can you post a photo of what the cut out looks like /how thick it makes it.
I'd like to use quadlock on my bike! Looks really solid!

I wanted to post a follow up to this.
What I did was take the Unicorn Beetle case for this and add the quad lock adapter. I now have this attached to my bike adapter and a quad lock car adapter. It is awesome.
The quad lock stuff fits extremely snug. I also have the quad lock phone tripod adapter, I went whole quad lock on this. It is great.
Let's see some photos
I use my S4A with the original Samsung case in combination with the QuadLock Universal Adapter as my daily driver.
Tried several 3rd party cases before but for me, the original Samsung S4A Case is the best for use with QuadLock i think. Best compromise in fitting, thickness, stability, shock resistance and look and feel.
Product No. is EF-PI929BSEBUS
Otterbox looks also very interesting :good:
Thanks

Anyone know? Wanna grab one from Best Buy today but want to know if it works
Cant imagine they would since the GT is longer and narrower...
Gonna second this to increase my post count... A nice messenger bag would work tho
Most that I have tried do not. They leave a small gap where the top of the hole to the pouch would normally touch the bottom.
The 10.1 is just a little bit too long. I'm currently using a 10" netbook sleeve until I decide what I want to do...
Wont fit.

There are a few on ebay:
http://stores.ebay.com/The-Fair-Pri...286603010&_sid=62662480&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
But other than being patient until more products are released, there's not much you can do. Remember, the iPad has been out for over a year, the iPad2 for months and this thing 5 days. Be patient.
I picked up a $10 neoprene netbook bag from the discard bin at a computer shop to use for now. Ideal, no. Functional and temporary, yes. For the first two days I used a bubble envelope - no joke. It was my "theft deterrent bag"...

I swear, that dude is saying "U mad, bro?"
I'm using this one. It's snug, but fits well. Plus it has a pouch in the front for my Mifi and cable.
Belkin Vue Sleeve
The neoprene roocase for the ipad2 is a very tight fit but should give good protection.
This fits, but is a little snug in the width. Got it on closeout for $10 at Staples.
So I'm thinking about doing a mod to the moto folio case and make the front cover detachable and reatachable. The material doesn't feel like it will unravel do I believe if I use a razor blade to cut it off and figure out a way to attach the other side of the lid. Hoping maybe this will make it a little better for the dock however I will probably lose the stand capability. Anyways I got the case for 20 and could probably get it again for that price. Any opinions? Has anyone tried this? Please let me know your thoughts.

Why bother? Fold it underneath when on your lap and u dont notice it. The only time mine annoys me is when i have to charge it
I don't know if it can unravel when cut, but that was a concern of mine as well. I added a 3/8-inch diameter hole over the charging port so that I can charge it with the cover closed. It works great. To prevent unraveling or fraying, I melted the hole (using an old nut driver heated over the stove).
I don't understand the desire to cut the flap off, but I won't question your goal. If you do cut it, you can heat seal the edge with a flame or hot blade.
I just feel like the flap gets in the way but now that I think about it I will probably need the stand capability for school. I may just cut the hole like you said.

So I did it. I really got tired of holding the case open. Now it fits in the dock better as well.

Just charging, that's all you can do really other than plug in some speakers. Kind of bugs me it doesn't have a USB out of the dock. Oh well I only paid $25 for it.
Just put a USB (Motorola Camera Cable) inside my dock tonight. SWEET!
Took some doing, and had top pitch the top weight inside, but it looks pretty clean.
Does anyone know of a desktop dock that will work with an S2 fitted with a Case-mate tough case?
I really liked the Zenis dock, however after searching on here, I see that although this dock is suitable for use with a protective case, the tough case is just too thick.
Does a dock that will allow for the extra thichness of the tough case actually exist?
Many thanks for your help.
none.
case-mate tough / otterbox commuter both have bottom protector which won't fit in dock like zenis.
Darnit.
I'll just have to wait until I get my tough case and see how easy it is to take the outer piece on and off at night I guess (thats presuming it would fit a dock without the hard plastic outer piece).
Thanks for your help.
Just tested this samsumg battery cradle dock with my thin mercury case

Will having the S2 attached to the dock all the time when being at home affect battery life?
I realise this thread is awfully old but did anyone come up with a solution to this?
I intend to use my S2 as a spare/backup phone and rather then just shove it in a drawer it would make sense if I could just drop it into a dock and use it for other things. I don't want to take it out of the Casemate tough, or fit a different case as I've come to rely on it's sturdyness and the confidence it gives me when the phone is in my pocket.
So ideally a dock with a width (for the device) of about 6.6cm and a centrally mounted microusb charging prong.
Obviously none of the standard i9100 docks will work but I wonder if docks for any other phones meet the requirements?
Thoughts?
I think that there is one more really important thing - how deep USB plug must go through case, for sweet armor it's about 3mm, so check that out as well. Also if case got socket cover like eg. Otterbox, u must keep space for it as well.

That's not a problem so much as the Case Mate has a 'large hole' for the charging insert, so as long as the dock doesn't have a ridiculous large/wide mount point for the USB connector it should work.
So does anyone know of a phone that has a standard width of about 6.6-6.9cm and has a central point on the bottom for it's microusb charging connector?
Thanks
has anybody bought 1 of these cases,

For the us folks.
I have this case. I use it out of all the cases ive bought. The charger port is too small for the cable came with the phone. But you can stretch the silicone then put it in and it fits. The case is great quality so it will not break easily. Though I bought a new cable that fits better, but it raises the the silicone a little. Its not bad at all though. The buttons feedback is great, i can press them easily. This case is good looking, i just love it.

i like the look of that 1. im gonna have to look for a uk seller for that.
i bought the hybrid case and have found a couple of things i dont like about it.
1. the charger doesnt fit through the case, i have to pull the bottom lip of the case down.
2. the build quality is really bad, and i can see roughly cut edges all the way round the screen
I've been looking for a good vent mount that will fit my Verizon S3 with a Diztronics case on it. I had one I purchased awhile back but unfortunately it broke. I've seen this one as well, but it has mixed reviews
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XAF4YQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2MCP9XRDS4FRC
I was hoping to spend under $25, and am looking to use the phone in landscape so I can use it as my GPS. Does anyone have one they would recommend? I tried the nGrooze one that goes in the CD player, and I love it but unfortunately the way its designed it pushes in the volume button on my Honda accord, so it doesn't work too well.
Thanks in advance!

nGroove does have a new mount out (not yet for sale, but very soon, I think): http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/t...k-mount-any-mobile-device-in-your-car-cd-slot
But, I can't tell if it will have the same issue as their older mounts, as they are pretty similar at the CD-player slot end.

This one might actually work better. I definitely hadn't seen anything about this, so thank you very much for the headsup!!

I made my own following this guide on Lifehacker. I used heat shrink rather than string, quicker and cleaner. Took me about 5 minutes, but I had all the tools at work and knew what I was doing.
Works quite well, though I have noticed recently (about a year after making the mount) that it has loosened up the horizontal slats that the binder clip contacts when it gets pushed onto the vent. Nothing serious, though.

Pictured is the Rock case, but I currently use the extended battery and Diztronic case. It also worked quite well with the stock battery and Diztronic case. Basically it accommodates a large range of phone sizes thanks to the rubber bands.
I have this one. Working well with samsung protective cover plus.

Just heads up for anyone else considering the Airframe: I ordered one to try with my daily driver S3+Defender, and no go. The Kenu website does not give any specs on the largest width it can handle. I thought I'd give it a try regardless.
With my digital caliper, the largest width the Airframe can handle fully stretched is 76mm. My defender measures about 79.5mm.
I really like this vent mount. Right now, I can only use it on my older Android units or my test S3 in a non Defender type case. Very nice concept, materials, and execution in terms of fit and finish. I'm going to email Kenu and hope a future revision can add an extra few mm.
