Greetings people
I've got a couple of issues with my Optimus G E975, bought from S Korea but used in Norway. I'll try to be quick and short.
The phone works well and all that, but my issues are more technically challenged.
When I bought it there wasn't any info that the phone would have a carrier logo at startup and on the back (Olleh) and that it would be a couple of Korean apps that are totally useless to me since I'm not korean. I want to delete them but they are "built-in" so that didn't work.
I tried to root my phone, to the best of my knowledge, but I was not successful. I've tried to understand how I could do it, but the more I read the more I didn't understand
So please, if there is anyone, someone, who would kindly guide me throug the rooting/cracking/breaking etc the phone I would be hugely thankful.
Mostly because I want to remove the carrier logo on start-up and the annoying Korean apps, maybe turn it into a European version if possible?
Here are some stat/info on the phone:
Android-version: 4.1.2
Kernel-version: 3.4.0
Version number: JZO54K
Program-version: F180K20n
Any and all help is mighty appreciated :good:
Sincerly your

...what if you followed the steps outlined in the 'unbricking' thread and 'forced' an update to your country's firmware ?

I think this procedure would work to flash your phone with your local firmware. It seems more simple.:

Don't know what you and other guys doing, rooting is simple and works on Korean and English version.
You can than delete apks.
Or simple flash Europe 10D kdz' root, freegee, flash Korean modem.
Root method working for both Korean and European version.

Thanks, that root worked
But what kind of app should I use to remove the korean apps? Or can I turn my phone into a European version, if that is more simple?
Should I just download a european 10d kdz file? Or how does it work? It's all new to me...

Of course you can but you may have some network issues and your language can be missing.
But it's not less safe than flashing a firmware for your country.

I believe so, however I have been flashing ROMs from different countries and all worked well...the only thing I saw was like when the phone boots up the first time it will tell to detect a language but by default it's the language of the country the ROM it was intended for and another thing is also you may need to change the LANGUAGE/KEYBOARD settings are predictive text settings in the same section to English if they are not set correctly

I purchased a GT-N7105 from Hong Kong and flashed it with the standard New Zealand firmware.
You have to factory reset a few times otherwise the CSC doesn't change. But it works fine.
I'd ignore the modem crap. Everyone talks about it, not a single person has (to my knowledge, love to be proved wrong) ever shown how it can really make any difference at all. Everyone just repeats it because it's what they read.
---------- Post added at 09:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 PM ----------
(I should say, I know that going back to older modem versions can mean you get no signal. But long as you use an up-to-date release you'll be fine. Crap about signal performance etc was what I meant in my previous post)

OK guys, There is no way I am the only one with a 900T itching to get my hands on KK and X-Note 9.0. I am very new to the whole rooting android devices but I am quickly learning the ropes. I have been reading many posts were where this is available to the 9005 versions. I also know that the 900T and 9005 are almost the same phone with 900T being locked (temporarily) to TMobile. I have been searching the threads for the past week looking for the answer if anyone with a 900T has been able to install the Official Poland Version 4.4.2 on their 900T. As some help I have been emailing someone else with a T-Mobile phone that helps to specialize in hard bricked devices. I am including the emails and I hope to get this thread moving forward. If it is not possible I would like to see if there is a way to work the system to get us the X-note 9.0 upgrade.

Side note: What I am going to attempt is to install the Poland version of kk to my phone. It is for the 9005 model (which the tmobile device is). Tmobile phones can run 9005 roms with a few updates, but I am not sure about the kk upgrade.

Please do not flash another bootloader phone's model. it will hardbrick or IMEI number will be gone.
Until we get an official Kernel for 4.4.2 for Tmobile we wont be able to install it. I even tried it last night since I've used previous X-note editions in the past. Hopefully in a couple more weeks we'll have a kernel.

A few questions since I have spent a lot of time digging here in the threads.
1. Did you install the Official Poland 4.4.2 KK update?
2. Did you install the latest compulsion Kernel?

I didn't. If I remember correctly Odin wouldn't let me install the bootloader

None of the 9005 roms will run on the N900T without a official KK kernel made for our device, I have done all the research, and it has the same issues that I went thru with Vision.

Axeman, Thank you very much for commenting on this post. I have seen your information alot dieingmy research. I have been attempting to gain traction on this topic. I do have a few questions.
1: is it possible to flash the official Poland KitKat version?
2: if it is possible, what are the risks that we are looking at?
I can see the problem with not having a custom kernel. Here is a link to one that I found earlier today.

I also saw a thread today where the Canadian version is now able to upgrade to Kit Kat and flash x-note 9.0

There is a link in the q&a forum for xnote. This gives specific instructions for getting it to work on tmobile versions of the note 3. I tried on 4.3 and was successful and also on 4.4.2 successful as well. im aroma I just selected the uk version to flash. you probably already know this but I thought id post this for future reference for other members. this rom is real stable and has not gave me any issues whatsoever from version 11 to 13

The only thing I flashed through odin was the 4.4.2 bootloader for tmobile
Everything else was done through recovery
Tmobile version xnote 13
Civ version 2.1 kernel for tmobile note 3
And nfc wifi fix
I do recall reding along the threads somewhere that if you flash a non tmobile bootloader through odin you will end up with a fancy paper weight.

Beside I didn't installed any other app yet... Probably if I install other apps that sync with internet, this battery usage will be much higher...
No doubt S5 have a much better battery life....

Hello can you give the source link of that confirmed info? Because here on Q&A section nobody have report to full flashed the KDZ of 855... I just made a system dump from v10j and then flashed it through recovery. Also boot is the same but we thought flashing KDZ could have some issue with modem or partitions size.
Now I read this and think is very cool to know some people already tried to flash kdz for 855 with success but it would be great to add the source link to the tread on Q&A section with the correct step to step... because another user tried to flash an European kdz but it didn't let him because of different model.
To restore default ROM:
1-) Download and install LGMobile Support Tool.
2-) Start it and wait it for self-update.
3-) Connect the phone using USB Cable, wait until LGMobile Support Tool recognizes the phone.
4-) Click on top menu Additional Resources (Recursos Adicionais) ==> Upgrade Recovery.
5-) Wait for it check your phone model, download the correct ROM and install it. (DATA WILL BE WIPED).

Would really be glad that this was clarified.
I have a brazilian D855p and I'm flashing D855 kdz from day one.
I dont think the software needs time to settle. That's because one time I saw Francisco Franco (nexus recognized developer) telling that's bs, as the software is only a bunch of zeros and ones and no need for that. But anyway, my battery is great so far, getting 4h SOT when on 4g and almost 6h on wifi. Try to install a custom rom like cloudy or AndroidNow HD and give it a try...

You will not get the updates unless you are on stock recovery.......I'm on rooted but on stock recovery so getting the OTA but it is of only 236MB in size . So i thinks it's jst a normal update...not an OS update.....
and one thing more if you are rooted and got the update then don't install that as it will lead to bootloop......it might get your device bricked

There is an update for LG G3 Vigor LS885 on the lg website http://opensource.lge.com/osList/list?curPage=2&m=Mc001&s=
but it's only the source code....so any one having the expertise of compiling the rom from the source code could help us......

Gsm bands can be unlocked by editing the build prop.......or by changing the files in "carrier" folder in our phone........as this method works on LG G2 sprint and also on LG G3 sprint..........
but i can't be sure about it......i myself wants to try it.....but waiting for the custom recovery for LG G3 vigor LS885............because first i will backup my existing OS .........and if by editing build prop something goes wrong then by going into the recovery i can recover the backed up OS.......

You can backup your stock rom by rooting your phone and installing a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM ,rooting is simple but the problem is I cant find any recovery for LS885.....but one friend "shaneg79" had installed the custom recovery on his LS885......so waiting for him to give the download link of that recovery.
Would love to see that stock recovery.
