Thanks a lot, I have recovered from ROM Acer_A100_1.022.02_AAP_CUS4 to Acer_A100_1.014.08_COM_GEN1 without any issue.

will any version recover any a100? Also do you just put update.zip in the root and boot to recovery?

Could you please describe how. I tried the APX, but it always says wrong CPUID number, even though it is the right one that I enter.

No. They're stock ROMs, not custom ROMs.

Just wanted to tell the OP thanks, you saved me after i hosed up my a100 by messing around with the build.prop trying to get HBO Go and Hulu+ to work.
For those who don't know, if you want to use the update.zip, you put it on the root of your External SD card, it does not go on your internal SD in the a100. Then boot into recovery by holding up on the volume rocker and powering up.

I worked really hard to flash it as well because I saw it as a way to flash my own custom system.img...
However, with the stock image, I couldn't get it to flash... same error... didn't like my cpuid... and I tried it many ways...
But, I think that is a good thing. I closely compared the A500 Upgrade Software with our A100 and it looks like the A100 package is using the same partition layout as the A500.... this is a worry because, in another thread, it's been reported that the boot and recovery partitions are larger for the A100 than the A500... So we should expect a different partition layout for the A100 - at least when it comes to size...
I think the EUU package maybe significantly predates some changes made to the A100/A101 before release.

Successfully flashed the A101 releases to my A100 (for good reason...) using Acer's recovery.
However, could not root the latest A101 release.

Has anyone managed to root that A101 ROM yet? The A100 method certainly doesn't work on it...

Is the roms Android 3.2? And what's the difference with the a100 3.2 rom?

The a101 rom was 3.2.1. When I checked in build.prop, the release date was October 11.
No obvious 3g stuff in Wireless networks except for Tethering.
I tried for the better part of a day to root the a101 rom... seems all the latest stock Acer roms (read a501) aren't rooting unless you can install something custom.

excuse me guys..... I've a serious problem with my a100. After a bad recovery tool installation the tablet doesn't start anymore. I've tried recovery console without results. Now I've installed the upgrade utility from recovery but it need the cpu id of my device.... where's this number?????

You do not need to boot into fastboot. All instructions are given to you as you work
Your phone must be an LG-P350 (also called optimus me, pecan, or optimus life)
To flash recovery, it must be rooted already
Your phone does not need a recovery installed already
This includes all the different recoveries for our phone, So you don't have to go searching for them or asking anyone how to flash recovery
If your device can't be detected then it will go through checks, such as seeing if pc can see the device (windows 7 only)
It will also download and install the drivers for you silently if your computer doesn't have them, or if they are not working correctly
The root function can be used to replace using Superoneclick
This is only for Windows!
You do not need any extra software installed
To use
download the zip here
extract to where ever you want
enable usb debugging on your device (go to setting->Applications->Development)
run "antdking's p350 toolkit.bat" (could be called "antdking's p350 toolkit" depending on your system)

p350 toolkit? I'm planning on expanding it and I don't want to end up repeating ideas..

Don't worry if you wanna sum everything up in one whole, I have all the tools spread around (Drivers (Device and Modem, updated), Rooting (Gingerbreak APK and SuperOneClick), Recoveries (Amon-RA, Touch CWM), KDZs (Entel V10A, Unbranded V10G, and V10I (not tested)), V10A and V10I Source Code), and other various tools... If you need any help or any tool I'll gladly help you out... You doing this CLI-type, right? I could help you out porting it to VB.NET (and by extension to Linux using mono) for some UI...

The only thing that I need to do now is do root the phone and apply kdz through CLI. the kdz I think I know how to do it using fastboot. rooting the phone I don't know where to start. I'd need to find out how superoneclick works, as that's the only thing that can root the later versions of the original stock rom.
a user interface would be great. And I have to learn VB.NET for school as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

For root, SuperOneClick uses psneuter, learn how it works and probably you'll get a better idea how to do it... Check AndroidLib.dll for VB.Net and Android communication... For flashing KDZ through fastboot, good luck on that one, for some partitions come "disassembled" and KDZ Updater I believe joins those parts... You can get a better idea of what I'm talking about using LGExtract and DZExtract, I used those tools to decompile to bits and pieces the stock ROM files... Good luck and I'll be glad to help in any way...

I used gingerbreak with my superoneclick..
I have the kdz extracted already. You can push the mbn's to the phone with fastboot, but I need to research a bit more to check it

The other day I was reading at the batch code, actually it's not that different as you use wget to download what is needed which in Linux is already embedded into the system. All you need to add into the folder structure of yours is the adb binary for Linux.

It uses 7-zip as well, which I'm going to use more of later. I also need to know what each of the commands in my script is in ubuntu commands, because there are differences.
I need something that will work anywhere (like adb) that will handle zip files. I don't think you can get 7-zip like that for ubuntu. If I'm wrong can someone post it? I've had no luck, and I don't want to ask people to start installing things

unzip is generally already installed in Ubuntu... If you wish, I'll write some code later when I get home so you can get an idea and continue to work from there...

default.prop was pulled from the recovery ramdisk of the JB OTA, and it has ro.product.device=EeePad.
I have got backup and restore working and it looks like CWM is doing a low level format so it's gonna take a very long time to to complete. not sure if I can do anything about that.

it also works if you download the update from the ASUS website, how it works with custom ROMS or older version's
of the official ASUS OS is unknown.

I have tried for several hours to write the CWM-Touch.blob to /staging while in recovery with dd
it always results in recovery not working, if I write the same file to staging in the same way from
the Android OS it works fine.
I think if you try to install a recovery or kernel with this recovery you will be ****ed.

does this give me root access on the tf300t and give me the ability to create a recovery method?

Yes. You can root if you are unlocked which i hope you do have.
After getting the CWM,flash the attached file from recovery to get root.
Reboot and install Super Su from Playstore and open it.
It will ask for updating binaries. Update.

Ok.. so I am not unlocked.. which means my bootloader is locked.
So the process, for me, should be
1..... download the unlock tool from asus.
2..... install/run the unlock tool that was downloaded
3..... follow the instructions in this thread to get rooted and create a valid recovery..
Is the above correct?

Hi all, I have a few questions concerning the nexus 7 flo.
I have unlocked, flashed twrp, rooted, and backed up my tablet. Now I want to flash other ROMs and Linux.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to remove twrp to install/flash multirom?
2. Will the stock kernel work with multirom?

1. No. But you will need to reflash the recovery with the supplied modified recovery(.img)-file. This will overwrite your previously installed recovery with a modified version.
2. It will not work: you need to have a kernel that has been patched with the kexec-hardboot patch (I use ElementalX)

Note 1: Your device must not be encrypted (hint: if you don't know what it is, then it is not encrypted).
MultiROM has 3 parts you need to install:
MultiROM (multirom-YYYYMMDD-vXX-flo.zip) - download the ZIP file from second post and flash it in recovery.
Modified recovery (TWRP_multirom_flo_YYYYMMDD.img) - download the IMG file from second post and use fastboot or Flashify app to flash it.
Patched kernel - You can use either one of the stock ones in second post or third-party kernels which include the patch, you can see list in the second post. Download the ZIP file and flash it in recovery.
You current rom will not be erased by the installation.

MultiROM is compatible with both flo and deb.

Hi, you only need a patched kernel for your primary rom. You can use any other kernel, including stock, for secondary roms.
Do you have details about flashing Linux on the N7 2013? I couldn't find anything much when I googled it.

I'm currently trying to get the "complete Linux installer" app to work. I've gotten Ubuntu to mount and work with ssh successfully with the terminal emulator by making changes to the bootscript, but no luck so far with vnc. I think I'll have to unpack the image and change the file system to ext4, but I haven't had time. As for truly flashing Linux, I found a few success stories using a modified Ubuntu image, but they removed the stock image. I haven't heard of anyone doing it with multirom... Yet. But that's my next project.

You might want to follow this thread: in which the official LinuxOnAndroid-developer states that he is working on a fix for 4.3 host-devices.

Just an update... I flashed multirom successfully, and complete Linux installer now works with flo! Some images work better than others, I've had great success with the Ubuntu small image.

Haven't seen any guides out for this model yet so here you go! I can confirm the latest version of motochopper works for v100md on stock 4.1.1. I would imagine other Envizen models are vulnerable as well. Known devices working with motochopper will be updated below.

(1) Make sure you have the device drivers
(2) Enable USB debugging
(3) Run Motochopper and follow directions
* Linux users must run as sudo.

I assume your running Windows? Haven't looked for drivers yet as I'm on linux but... Have you tried enabling USB Debugging and plug it in? Most of the time I get them that way.

Thanks..!! I'm done with the rooting, but cant get CMW recovery....!!

Which custom ROM can i flash to my device and before that most important is how will i get CMW recovery...!!

At this time there are no official or unofficial CWM & TWRP recoveries. In the mean time I suggest you mod with Xposed modules and other utilities.

I am not liking this tablet.

Haven't seen any guides out for this model yet so here you go! I can confirm the latest version of motochopper works for v100md on stock 4.1.1. I would imagine other Envizen models are vulnerable as well. Known devices working with motochopper will be updated below.
SUPPORTED ENVIZEN DEVICES:
V100MD
(1) Make sure you have the device drivers
(2) Enable USB debugging
(3) Run Motochopper and follow directions
* Linux users must run as sudo.

Hey there, I know that this is an old post, but I really need help here.
My inlaws bought this tablet and when i tried to switch it to ART from Dalvik it just get spitting out some "com.androidphone. something or other stopped working bug issue"
I have been trying to boot into recovery but for some reason it is completely.. and i mean completely.. gone. the only thing i can do is get into fastboot and adb if i reboot it and let it just sit.
So i was hoping that you had the stock rom for the Envizen tablet or perhaps by chance the custom recovery at least.
I have tried nearly everything that i can. I can't get root access so i can't pull the boot.img to make a custome recovery... its silly
please... anyhelp is appreciated.

I managed to get in touch with the company that made the Envizen EVT10Q tablet from HSN. I managed to get them to send me the stock firmware. I will be uploading it tonight but need to know of a nice safe place for it. with dolphins that have lasers on the head for security... don't need to get a pimp slap from anyone...
suggestions on a place to upload it for others?
