Quick cover for 4.3 roms - LG Optimus G Pro

I have the Lg Folio case with the cover that when shut closes phone and when opened starts phone at home screen. Silly, but I have grown to love this feature. Can I use this Quick Cover feature on other than stock roms, like 4.3 roms. Is it a simple fix for non savvy people like myself?
Thanks...

Use this app: FLIP COVER, it's free, use light-sensor to screen-off, can be set delay to prevent your finger make screen off

He's on Android 4.3 so he's talking about a custom ROM, not the stock LG ROM.

Thanks for Info guys. I already have this on stock and its almost a deal buster for 4.3 roms.. I will look into the app, who knows... I just wondered if there was a way to transfer from stock to a new rom.

When I was on CM 10.1 the quick cover would still unlock the device when opened, but wouldn't re-lock the device when closed. I'm not sure what we'd need to do to get the relevant information into the hands of a dev (or if any of them have the time to look at such a trivial issue).

I found an app called Smart Cover Lite, a freebee which is a close second to the stock Quick Cover. Still in trial, initially it operated rather quickly, but 2nd day there are occasional pauses for opening times. Also I am not sure if when it opens you can go straight to home screen instead of lock screen. I prefer home screen but, I need to review more. Try it out and see what you think for people with the Lg Folio case or other cover cases.

I'm on stock not rooted and have been using LG quick cover but as they're sort of fabric they get dirty really quickly. I've just bought a leather one made by voia which is nice as it has the cut out so you can see notification light. In preparation I've downloaded "everycover free" from playstore which has great reviews, my new case should arrive in a couple of weeks so if no one has checked it out by then I'll leave a review

How is the Note II doing?

Planning to upgrade to it in about a month. Are there any issues? Like my Infuse had the silent GPS unit recall and that screwed a lot of people. Any issues yet?
None.
Everything works great!

I came from the infuse, and in comparison the note is unreal.
Hard to believe, but there really is no problems.
Only problem i have is people randomly coming up to me interviewing me about my huge phone
I'm totally pleased with my note. I haven't even felt the need to root it, it's that good out of the box.
The only gripe I have is with the stock keyboard not auto-correcting. It has predictions line swift key has, but auto-correction sucks. The only reason this is an issue is because the stock keyboard is the only one that has handwriting recognition, which is really awesome to have on this phone.
If I'm missing something here regarding the stock keyboard, please let me know, because I'd really love to be able to use handwriting without having to switch keyboards back and forth.

Great so far. Loving it more than my SGS3. I was ready to throw my SGS3 against the wall because I couldnt get the battery to last more than 12 hours. My GN2 lasts 24+ with moderate usage.
Went from iPhone 4 to SGS3 now to the GN2 and loving it. Got the GN2 instead of upgrading my current Nexus 7 to the 3G Nexus 7.

Yeah, I was never a fan of the swiping. But the auto correction works decently if you swipe it out. It's a learning curve for me too. I'm getting better and after just a day I'm about as accurate as I am with the keyboard I was using before. What finally got me to really try was the multi view. Having the keyboard pop up and float makes it much easier than taking up the whole bottom of the screen. Plus I love that number row.
I would like to see an option to enable the auto correct, though.
I keep forgetting how big this phone is. It still catches me off guard when people say it's big, it really doesn't feel big anymore.

Hii,, i'm going to upgrade to N2 also but i'm worry about my app data as I'm using titanium backup app and it's great but i think it's working only with rooted device and i don't wont to root the N2,,
So dose titanium back work with it without root i any one can try it for me.... and if not there it any other app which can transfer app data??

Titanium backup won't work without root. There are some app backup programs that don't need root, but none of them will backup the data. At least none I have found. Why don't you want to root the phone?

Rooting doesn't void your warranty. You can flash back to stock and with triangle away there is no lasting indication you did anything. I don't think there is any real chance of brick from rooting. I haven't seen someone bring a Samsung for a while that wasn't caused by user error flashing something meant for another device. I have seen HTC deny claims due to unlocked Bootloader, but only when dealt with direct, AT&T hasn't been. And I have never seen a report of Samsung denying warranty for something like that.

If you reflash the stock ROM bad then use the USB Jig or triangle away, it will show your phone as completely stock. If you keep it rooted with custom ROM you're definitely gonna be labeled as "customized"
Best phone I've ever owned, couldn't be happier. Upgraded to this from the Galaxy S3, and I see a MAJOR boost in performance and battery life. Highly recommend.
Fantastic phone without a doubt! Every ROM I have tried has been superfast.
My only gripe with the phone (and I didn't notice it at first) is that the plastic back makes all kids of clicking/squeeking type noises. Plastic does that. The back feels very cheap made. I have a replacement back coming tomorrow that is made from aluminum. This will make the device feel so much more solid. I will lose a bit of signal strength, but I can't stand the cheap clicking lol.

Is there a way to make the rear led flash when phone calls?

guys this is an iphone feature and before you go haters its really cool. I usually have my phone volume down and lay it on its screen. so i miss a lot of calls. My cousin's iphone flash everytime he have a notification or a phone call and it looks really cool. I know this will probably drain your battery but its someone choice to choose this feature or not
I've searched around cause I do the same with silent and phone facing down... I have yet to find anything.

Yes there is a way to use this feature. The best option is Beacon, it works like an absolute charm on the s3. It is a paid app, however i have attached the apk. Your welcome. Is the sharing of paid apk's frowned upon? I hope not lol. Anyways good luck, post update to let me know how it worked out.

Why not just turn the phone over and use the built-in LED notification on the front ? You can even configure different colours for different things.

You've been registered for all of a few hours and have already broken the "cardinal" rule of posting Warez. I know for a fact that you have to review the rules before the registration is complete. If this is how it is going to be, then your time here will be short lived. No Warez!!!

The only thing I would really like from the G2 is the OIS on the camera and the double tap to wake.
I hope the awesome devs will be able to port that feature (double tap) across to the OGP from the G2.
(or LG to include it as part of 4.2.2 or 4.3 update. Crossing fingers!!!)

I think If it will be ported display would not go to sleep ever and battery of G Pro will drain very quick.
I definitely will sell G Pro and buy G2, G Pro is outdated compared to G2, bud it has bigger 5,5" screen, the only one reason to keep G Pro. Everything else is already noncomparable
G pro still exceeds in MMC & removal battery dept.
Comparison :
Screen Same :
Ram : Same.
Processor : Not a huge difference in practical situation - no temptation to change.
Volume key placement : Verrrrrrrrryyyyy Odd , Will wait to see in hands before I can give any words on it.
camera : Improved with OIS & 60 FPS. Niceee.
New themes :------ We will get It.
Touch wake screen : -----Nice but battery eater.
Flip Style window cover: we will get it for sure.
Upgrade 4.2.2: We will get it , May be 6 months later.
Last few software features : Porting can be done easily. Just waiting for someone to post rom Image Now.

in my point of view g pro is still the best ever phone lg made so far...
Google Experience
The pricing and feature set of the OG Pro really is incredible, so much so that it even maintains competitiveness with future phones like the G2. The only reason I haven't replaced my N7000 with one is because of the rumors that there may be a G2-based Nexus 5.
My main reason for switching phones will be to get better dev/AOSP support, and the only reason I don't already have a Nexus phone is Google hasn't made one with a huge screen. The OG Pro is amazing, but the dev support right now is almost nonexistent.
It really is crazy that this phone isn't far more popular.
Well if the FCC news is accurate, other carriers are about to get the G Pro. So maybe then there will be more clientele in terms of a community.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
That's always the curse of carrier exclusive phones, it limits popularity & therefore limits dev support. But I think we'll start seeing development pick up.

LG doesn't even have to release any official update all they have to do is unlock the boot loader for us and we will be pretty much golden. They don't have to do anything else except maybe release some proprietary drivers

If it was even remotely possible for this to happen there would be a huge violation of privacy laws both locally and internationally. There is no way that China, Korea, Japan, or America would let spy phones cross international borders. If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think it would not be an issue because the audio jack has a slight curve for our phones. There will be a small gap towards the back of the phone where you can stick your finger nails under to remove the button.
The app sounds some what sketchy. I have to wonder if this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kober.headset would work with Pressy or it's clone.
Are you guys sure it's 0.39$ and not 2.02$ ?

Thanks bro Best price . 0.30€ (30 cent)
I read a review somwhere that it does not work all the time (doesn't react everytime you press), maybe the apps gets killed by the system or something, or maybe it's just "you get what you paid for"..
I ended up ordering one from ebay.

PSA for anyone considering buying this or any such device - the "convenience" is not worth the trouble. Here are the few things you need to know -
These buttons work only with their companion apps. i.e you'll need to keep their app running.
From time to time, the app will forget what is plugged in and will wake up the device, asking you what's plugged in. i.e. look forward to a lot of wakelocks.
Sometime, it won't even prompt, asking for what is plugged. It'll think you've plugged in a headphone and act accordingly. So, you'll hear nothing from your speaker since the device is routing all sounds to the "headphone".
The above bug will also prevent you from speaking to your phone; i.e. you can't give commands to Google Now.
I speak from personal experience. I have the Klick button, which I had bought from tinydeals for ~ $1.90.
In for one. For this price not really out much if it doesn't work.

My wife owns a xiaomi phone, she is Chinese, and I copied the Mikey app off of it. Then I did some digging and found a English version of the Mikey app at the this site:
http://en.miui.com/thread-18958-1-1.html
Wondering if anyone is willing to test it with the Klick.....

As the site requires a username and pass to download, here is the latest English version of the Mikey app
