Dirty flashing is fine. I did it with no problem.
Just make sure you nandroid backup first and when you do have problems, just clean flash.

I read that 4.2 wasn't that great which is why I jst stayed with 4.1.2, but I've read that 4.2.2 is better. Is it worth switching? To do so, do I need to do anything different or just wipe data and flash a 4.2.2 rom?
