Hello!
I have questions about the use of the device: Samsung Galaxy S4 mini Duos GT-I9192 8GB
1. When you call the Quick settings (though connected and use two SIM cards at the same time) appears switch SIM cards - two buttons SIM1 and SIM2. I modes of SIM cards have already been defined in the "Manager SIM cards." I see when you click on a button that appears at the top of the SIM card icon and the icon of the signal SIM card is painted in white. Why the need for a switch that is functionally changes in the SIM card?
2. After rebooting the phone switch is set to always choose SIM1, although reboot was selected SIM2, remember how to get the phone option?
the only function its has its to set the default sim to make a call from contacts list or return missed call for me its useless and only take space from the panel
Try this systemUI, same as stock but without the toggle and square around the signal bars

Ok - some mobiles had option I believe(unconfirmed) that with 2 sim cards installed, a piece of software on the phone allowed switching between sim cards - saves turning them on/off - any idea if the xda has this option?
Reason being - I have a personal sim card, and now I have a work one BUT would prfer just one phne and do prefer the xda
Scott
yep
I use "wivit" sim switcher, works just fine on my xda2s, xda2 and xda2i
http://www.wivit.com/products/SSS.shtml
wivit
Wivit doesnt works on WM05
I know this is a longshot - but anyone know with this type of software if the software will tell you that a call is coming in on say on 1 sim card, so that you can then switch to that sim card???
Cheers
Scott
Very long shot - It doesn't work. Only one SIM at a time is connected. What I do is set up a divert from one to the other, so that I can always received all my calls whichever SIM is active & then simply switch to the appropriate SIM when making calls
The dual-sim version of S4 mini takes 2 SIM cards. I get that. But how does this work?
Do I need to turn off/turn on the phone to switch from one sim to another, or does it provide full (or limited) functionality of both SIMs and the same time?
they work on dual sim standby I think that's the correct name,
you can use only one sim for data plan (3g) you get to choose which one to use
wen you are on a call the other sim is turned off or you can configure call redirection to the active sim but your telephone company have to be compatible

i have been experiencing several problems with S4 mini 9192 since i bought it one month back and one of these is that the phone does not switch data between the 2 sims correctly.
to have the data work correctly on any sim, all the below must be done
1-select the sim you want to use for data in sim card manager/data service network
2-have the same sim configured as gsm/wcdma (auto connect) on connections/more networks/mobile networks/network mode
when you select option one, the phone tries to perform task 2 too, but fails, thus the data sim is left in "GSM only mode" and will only have edge data, never connecting to HSPA/ 3G.
here is what i have to do each time to switch data from Sim-1 to Sim-2 (screenshots attached)View attachment Screenshots.zip
Screenshot 1- you will notice data is set for sim 1 and HSPA is active
Screenshot 2- select sim 2 for data
Screenshot 3- the phone will disconnect data on sim 1 to switch
Screenshot 4-phone will try to set sim 2 as "gsm/wcdma (auto connect)"
Screenshot 5- but gives alert message and fails
Screenshot 6- sim 1 is still on "gsm/wcdma (auto connect)" and the data connection for sim 2 is only edge
Screenshot 7- Sim 2 is still on "gsm only" and does not connect on hspa no matter how long you wait
Screenshot 8- for data on sim 2 to work properly, first change sim 1 to gsm only
Screenshot 9- then change sim 2 to "gsm/wcdma (auto connect)" and wait for 5 seconds, the phone will connect on HSPA .. success
now my big question is, does this happen to everyone with s4 mini 9192, or is it just me??
by the way, this occurs on both my Egypt stock firmware and the j2 india firmware i just flashed.
i tested a friend's Galaxy Mega 5.8 Duos, and the phone performs both steps by itself, with no need to perform the 2nd step manually.

I have had the same problem with my model that I bought in Australia. Your solution worked well for me as this is one frustration that I've been blaming on the network rather than the phone for the past week (because I was ignoring the error messages). I would hope a software update is in the works to fix this issue as it will get quite annoying in time.
I have the very same issue, plus the second sim slot only work in GPRS, and I try 4 rom before getting block by ****ing knox problem.
Sorry to dig this out but i havent found any answer to this yet.
is there any way to get a widget or a script or anything so that one can easily switch data connection from one sim to the other by one click? Or even automatically depending on which sim is in its home network?
This would be awesome as i'm hopping across the border twice a day and switching data connection all the time is a pain in the a**.
Thanks a lot for any answers!
I am also looking for answers for this.
Out on the site I work at they only have 3G towers but I have no data access on my work phone so I need to use my personal sim for checking email, then switch back so I can use work phone again.
Known issue on the phone it sucks

Thanks for posting this, finally i can have 3g on sim2!
Thinking of getting a 5T (or maybe 6 depending on timing) and have never had a dual-SIM phone. I would have one SIM card for my U.S. Cricket account and use the other slot for a pay-as-you-go "travel SIM" for use in Europe.
So are there settings or a built-in app provided so that I can activate one card at a time? I know it's possible to have both in "standby," but that's not practical in this case since I wouldn't want one of the cards causing the phone to be searching for a tower constantly -- a real battery-killer. I also would want to be able to assign one or the other for data, etc. (The particular travel SIM I have in mind will actually work in the U.S., but then I'd be paying per call, text, and data chunk).
You can enable or disable each card independently. You can choose a default SIM for calling, messaging, and data. The built in messaging app also lets you choose what card to send from with a convenient button in the text entry field. I have attached some screenshots that show the SIM options in the settings menu. I've been using dual SIM for a few days now and find it very easy to manage. Hopefully this answered all your questions.
Perfect answer. Thanks!
Hi, I'm using Galaxy s21fe running the latest one UI available, and for some reason I cannot set a SIM card for data connection and the other for calls, there's just a Primary SIM, which do both with no choice to make a SIM for just one use, it's data and call for one SIM only, how can this be fixed?
You can select the use of the SIM card in the settings in the SIM card manager, only when you turn on data transmission in the phone and both SIM cards are active.

Sorry, i don't understand what you mean
This is the way Samsung phones work - you can't set one for data and one for calls like you can on the Pixel or iPhone.
