HTC one x S off - HTC One X

Is it possible to gain S-Off or if not will it ever be possible

The ignorance... it hurts...
If you even tried looking on Google for that you would find hundreds of threads on this topic...
As of today, The HTC ONE X CANNOT GAIN S-OFF by anything the USER does... HTC CAN S-OFF ANY device.
THE FILE needed to GAIN S-OFF CANNOT be leaked...
Our only hope right now is APX Mode witch cannot be accessed by purpose, and if you get in, there is no way of getting out...

Sadly no

Yeah you can s-off your device. And those files/method are leaked.
Fly to Russia or China and some stores can make it s-off for you !
But as we indeed speak in "normal" housely terms (phone - laptop - usb cable - simple software) ....nope

S-OFF is possible only if you use a russian service to s-off htc one x

Was I shipped a developer model?

OKAY, so I was shipped 2 models, wasn't sure why, anyways Rogers wanted me to ship one of them back, I did so. All is well for about 2 weeks, now I've been trying to root it, and I managed to get to the bootloader and some other things, but while I went into recovery it just said 'This build is for developement purposes only Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may result in legal action' and it wouldn't start up into the recovery to get to superuser or whatever. It just had a logo with that on it... Is this my cells problem or could it be a problem with the recovery? Thank you in advance!

S-Off

I'm a little bit confused about S-Off. If I were to have S-Off would I not have to flash boot.img? What are the advantages of having S-Off?
Thank you
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
You would not have to flash boot.img and also could give yourself supercid so you can flash any ruu. There is a lot more it allows you to do but that is all the general user would use it for

s-off
open bank vault without security
s-on
closed bank vault with security guards armed with m16
s-on (unlocked) [htcdev]
locked bank vault without security. u get to mess with the outside but not the inside
get what i mean?
Ohh okay. That makes sense. Thank you both for the replies. To achieve S-Off is it a hardware or software modification?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
There are hardware and software ways, currently no way to get it altogether without the HTC DIAGS, javacard, and Y-cable. Basically no way for us end users.

how close is S-OFF
I'm considering going for HTCDev, until S-OFF comes, but I've read somewhere that the HOX should receive S-OFF pretty soon.
I hate these kind of words "pretty soon, normal, common... " its seems bla-bla to me.
so in your opinion, how close is S-OFF?

I just meant to for our hox-es ...like in multiple phones for everybody with a hox
Omg there are too many of these threads... People, please read and use the search function because, frankly, this is ridiculous. Like 10 S-OFF related threads pop up every week and 9 of them are usually useless. It's really getting annoying. Sorry if I sound like a douche right now, but someone has to say it...

[Q] Return to "locked" signature

Hi everyone,
I am new in the modding world of android and i am enjoying myself to try different ROMS on my HOX.
I think that me, like a lot of other people, have the problem of wifi signal: the HARDWARE problem.
Everybody of us know that the problem is joined to hardware because when we press between the camera and the volume up of our phone with ours fingers the signal goes up.
QUESTION:
Is there the method to make return our One x with the LOCKED signature in order to have no problem with htc warrently?
I would like to have a specifical guide, not a general guide if it is possible, because i read somewhere that there is an idea of the operation, or that someone have sent is phone in Russian for to relock with the LOCKED signature, but i've never found a good guide like for example the good guide of the installation of a rom.
If someone could help me I would be very grateful for it.
Thanks =)
Not possible without s-off even then not sure anyone knows what to change

yeah, that's going to cost you money though. Might as well open it up and use solder or foil fix like I did.
So you have been able to make return one x soff or you sent it abroad?

There are services that offer you to soff if you send them your phone.
I wouldn't trust it, shipping your phone around the world just to soff honestly not worth the risk.
Even if you got it back to locked they still have Imei number when you unlocked.

Device not mounting anywhere.. Please help.

Earlier I was trying to "S-OFF" my device so I can rewrite my "SuperCID" so I can update my Hboot to 2.15 and somewhere along that process i've managed to seriously screw my phone over.
Currently, my phone is unable to be mounted anywhere... My phone is without a ROM, so all i've got access to is the bootloader screen, and TWRP v2.7. And mounting my device in recovery mode does not work.
I know this was completely stupid of me, and that i've might have made my phone into a pretty expensive paper weight. But any help at all would greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
2.15 does not exist on the HTC one X international ! So my guess is you have the EVITA dual core model !
