Is there any way possible to change the DPI on the stock ROM without it crashing?

There is a topic in this area on how to do just that. Basically you have to use a 3rd party launcher. But if you still choose to use the LG Home Launcher you have to use the XPosed Framework and the App Settings for it in order to force it to use the XLarge setting. I personally couldnt get it to work with the Home, but with Nova it worked just fine with 320 DPI. Sadly the Camera was all but unusable with that DPI as all the app was off.
Edit:
Sorry it was in the General Section:

Download play store and framework from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639213
Then use Rom Toolbox to change your lcd density.
I've never been able to boot after using lcd modder even with darkside.

Even better, use root explorer to open build.prop. scroll until you see the density: 240. Change it from there and save, reboot. Just keep in mind your phone may not boot regardless of how small of a difference you make so always nandroid first

I used ROM toolbox and it works like charm.. I set it to 200 and also play store will display apps incompatible , to fix this use LCD density modder and click on fix market issues and install it..then u r ready to go.

Is this possible? I'd like to use the Xposed framework DPI app to change the browser to tablet mode with full featured tabbed browsing. Altering the resolution of the stock Sammy browser just causes FC.

Nevermind. Found this.

What's up?
Not sure if anyone has tried it yet, but I am a big fan of split screens in Gmail and settings. I used Xposed with the app settings apk and changed the dpi and dp and was able to get split screens. See screenshots below. Used 300-350 for the dpi and 800x1280 for the dp.

I think you are the first time to use dpi setting apps... It works on any device with any rom for long time ago, not only our G Pro. For "split screens", it depends on apps' resources supporting tablet layouts or not.

It's a great app most definitely. Love the difference from hd to full hd.

No, not my first time using dpi tweaks. But first time for app specific dpi tweaks. I was just posting this in case someone was wondering if the app settings apk in Xposed worked or not.

Did you go back into the Xposed installer and install it? Also did you go to the second tab of the installer app and activate the Xposed mod?

Hi everyone,
I've been using the latest slimbean for my note 2 n7105 but have had force closes on my navigon Australia app. It happens when it tries to load the actual map screen. I think the problem is to do with the resolution of the rom. Could I use xposed framework to change the dpi setting just for this app?
I love slimbean but I can't stick with it if I can't get Navigon running.
Thanks,
Sam.
Yes you should be able to

I run 4.1.2, is there any solution for me maybe?
Thanks in advance.
App setting module for Xposed framework. I use 280dpi, set some incomptible apps back to 320. All work!

So just picked up my s6 edge today, rooted and went to change lcd density to make it smaller, which worked great, but it shrunk my camera software. So had to go back to stock density. Can anyone tell me how to shrink density without it affecting the camera app? Thanks!

How'd you get the density change? I tried changing my build.prop to no effect, but it has like 3 lines for lcd.density
I just used rom toolbox free version. I changed the top line and it changed all 3 upon reboot

The only Way I know how to change individual dpi for apps is with xposed and a module called App Settings. And there is no xposed for Lollipop touchwiz roms
I over came this by installing Google camera and a 3rd party dialer called Simpler. it's actually quite nice with material UI.
Thanks, I'll take a look at Google camera, but I really like the stock camera app.
Hopefully something will come out once we have roms
