Hey guys, I was reading an article where a leader here on xda recently dual booted a note 2.
Could anyone figure this out for our phones?
Or should I buy a note 2?

I've got a similar query; is dual booting is possible on the Captivate Glide in any shape or form?

The best approach I would think of is multirom. That is a based on a modified TWRP and you could boot as much ROMs as you like. I tried to port multirom to the LG F3Q a while ago and I believe it should be possible to do that for the Glide, too.

yes.
but. Forget that. becouse:
we dont have best and uptodayt kernel maker for glide
2. dual recovery boot isnt important. use twrp 2.8 by bubor only
its very easy to make dualboot, we've got 512mega partition (/preload), you can use as system, you need a data partition ( sdcard's partition), replace boot.img.
Why do you need it?
I don't personally need it; it's just that I'm selling my Glide to someone and they've asked if I can do a stock/CM11 dual-boot setup for them before sending it out.

Is anyone working on a port from the tmo s4 to the tmo s3?? It is 4.2 TW isnt it?? Would love to see it..
I have started to look into it but may need custom kernel, and not quite sure all the files I need to get it to boot... will keep this thread updated as progress is made

There's GlamourS4 for the international S3. It's still buggy, but once it gets better, could anyone port that? I'm not sure how difficult porting can be though..

I believe the international s3 is different from our phone. Theres's already custom roms for d2tmo for the s4 so i would say it would be easier to port from d2tmo S4 then it would be from the international s4

Thats all anyone could ask bro.. thanks
I know it's a different model, but wouldn't it be easier porting a ROM from a different S3, which would be more similar to our phone, than a completely new S4? I'm sincerely asking because I don't know much about porting and all.

Touch Wiz is Touch Wiz.. Tmobile is Tmobile. A Tmobile rom would be much easier to port then an international s3
the i9300 and t999 are to different due to the cpu . if you can trick the i9300 rom to think the t999 is the i9300 than maybe its pssible
Ok so its been slow going but I finally got a boot logo and animation but stuck in boot loop. Anyone know how to force 4.2.2 to enable android debugging? As of right now I am using all 4.2.2 files, mostly from s4 but needed kernel an libs for cooked rom. Will let you know how it goes.

You should be able to by editing build.prop if I'm not mistaken.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if cyanogenmod supports the new T-Mobile Galaxy S4.
If it does can you also tell me if the bootloader needs unlocking or how to do it.
& most importantly whats working in it & what isn't please
Thank You!:good:
Just search a little. It's right in the General forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263320
Your questions should be answered in that thread, and with the Search button.

It is officially supported under "jfltetmo"
Boot loaders on s4's don't need to be touched. There is a beautiful auto root that does it and then you flash a recovery via Odin. Everything seems to be working except ir blaster

Firstly, Nitro HD is low end already. Take note of it. It is single cored(If im not wrong), and also, its already 2 years old.
And buying it is up to you. If you want it as a spare phone, which it is preferably one.

First off yes its 1 1/2 years old but has never been low end. It is one if not the most powerful phone made in the Nov '11 - April '12 time frame. Secondly the Snapdragon DUAL CORE WITH ADRENO DUAL CORE graphics was also one of the most powerful made that was only surpassed by the newer quad core processors this phone is no slouch. The software platform is very mature and has a great developing community. If you want the latest and greatest look elsewhere but be depending on what money you spend you will have quite a beast on your hands.
IMO

If you are talking about unlocking the sim, that can only be done with a stock ROM. You can root stock ICS with ease but if you want root AND a custom recovery then you need to use the unbricking guide due to the ICS boot loader being locked.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645
This guide works best on a win xp computer. However if you have win 7 there is help within the pages of that guide that can provide that help. Good luck.

Root and install a custom recovery so you can install a custom ROM. Like I said before sim unlocking can only be done on a stock ROM. To unlock go to settings, security then sim lock.
Edit sorry man thinking of something else. To unlock the sim so you can use it on a different network go to your phone dialer and out in the following code:
2945#*930#
Then select network
And input your unlock code (you only get 10 attempts before your phone is locked for good)

I think unless you were to go through the unbricking guide again. But I have never done it so I am not 100%. But I do know it has to be done from a stock ROM as the custom ROMs like cyanogen and miui do not have that capability. But as long as you are just installing ROMs through cwm you shouldn't have to unlock again.

compared to what? it has better specs than dozens of phones that came out after it with a cheaper price tag
almost every major dev team supports this phone, there is a reason for that those people are the experts that should tell you enough.
What is the best way to make dual boot for Sprint galaxy s3?
I have stock jellybean 4.1.2 and want to dual boot with CM 10.1.2.
i have already rooted my phone.
thank you very much
Sorry for that message, I've posted to the wrong forum! To moderators: pls delete this, I cannot do this, at least in Tapatalk...

There are Siyah and Googy-Max kernels for S3 with dual boot feature but AFAIU you cannot use original kernels for your systems with them, your all systems run on Siyah or Googy. So, it is not kexec or dual booting support in bootloader... It would be great if somebody could confirm this (thanks)! And if there are other possible choices...

Those kernels are only for the international version and should never be flashed unless you want a brick instead of a phone.
^ this and please edit and remove those kernel names before a noob here flashes any of those kernels and then has a 600 dollar paperweight.

Hey everyone, never posted here before but I figured I'd ask as I'm extremely interested in modding my LG G3. I'm confused though as I don't see any solutions out there for dual booting the phone. Is this something someone's working on that perhaps I've missed? My ultimate goal is to attempt to dual boot Firefox OS (I know, keep dreamin') and Android 4.4.2. My first hurdle is finding a multiboot solution and I just can't find anything out there. Can anybody provide me with some enlightenment? I've thoroughly exhausted Google's search engine to find the answer (including searches through here), I'm beginning to think I may be chasing after something that doesn't exist yet.

No one has been able to unlock the bootloader. LG don't allow it and the devs are finding it difficult to. Unless the bootloader can be unlocked there will be no custom Roms or kernels or dual booting.
The devs seem optimistic that they will be able to unlock the boot loader. Once that happens the only way to multiboot is if someone were to port the recovery multirom to our device. Multirom is currently available for nexus devices and I have it on my nexus 7 2013 and it's amazing

Lucky us eh? Now if they figure out how to do it with the mainstream phone I'm sure I'll find a multi-ROM boot, at the very least I could experiment with other versions of android but with LG making a firefoxOS phone I'm hoping someone will port it to the G3.
