guys can someone help me, im trying to add phone to the left soft key with vanilla rom - i have installed soft key changer but the option is not there - any help how i can do this please
anyone? PLEASE......
what do you mean by adding phone, if you press the green key you acces the phone
i know but i like he phone key on the soft key too - just a niggle i guess, i installed another rm nd its fine but you cant select phone fom some cooked roms after installing soft key changer, where as you can with official roms
I really cant see this. Press the green button, just as easy as pressing the one above it.
lol, does sound a bit strange... unless u change the green key to something else... but then WHY??!!
yeh like i said its just a little niggle - a standard feature that comes with the official roms and i just got very used to it - but no big deal
I have installed Pbar and SK tools and I cant change the soft keys on my T-Mo t2pro, any ideas? when I start the phone they show up then disappear, thanks.
One other thing is how do you get the quick menu icon back on the home screen...Tj
OK so does anyone know how I can customize the home screen? I dont even have the soft key buttons (1 or 2) to change in Menus. Thanks. BTW its a T-Mo T2P
for changing softkeys under the screen,i use keyswop,it works, you may try it.
as for the rest of the screen(suppose you use touchflo 3d skin), calls history, calendar, the clock etc, cannot be tweaked because it's embedded in ROM.
so i dont think you can put anything else(include what you said quick menu icon) in the screen.
@nokiadashi why do you keep bringing up old posts? more importantly though is why the hell do you set your font to be so damn huge? its annoying!
hi all,
i just found out a dusted HTC Desire...
the menu button was not working , and i havent tested the middle joistik before, i dont even know what it does or how it works....
i opened the smartphone, cleaned good the pieces (it was really dusted)....
now, the menu button do the same effect as pressing home + volume up at the same moment....
and the joistik button do the same as pressing the voulme down button....
what i can do? try clean it again better?
i dont feel like the menu button is completely dead :silly:
any ideas?
i want to clean up well the phone to give it to a friend and also power it up with a cool rom....
if , at the end, i will not repair the buttons, exist a rom that have virtual buttons (like nexuse)
thanks for all the help....
Not sure how to fix your hardware problems, but an alternative would be to user the navigation bar (soft keys) like on nexus devices. You will need a 4+ ROM to enable the navbar, but to easily control the size I would recommend the PA ROM in my signature. It allows you to change height/colour of the navbar easily, whereas in other ROMs you will need to flash stuff/make changes to the build prop to enable it.

Hello!
I own an Lg G4 for 3 days now. And I came from Samsung S4.
I got used with the keys from Samsung and I was wondering if I could have the functionality also here on LG.
Meaning I want to have 3 softkeys : toggle menu, Home, back
Is it possible? I searched but almost all answers refer to themes.. but I want functionality...
Thank you...
Im rooted running exposed. Gravity box it has the option to remap the buttons i did the same thing menu then double tap is power the icon is stuck as recents but fully functional
Great! Thank you.. I worked very well...
Hello! I'm hoping that I can disable the soft navigation bar, and go to a more traditional Fire OS style of navigation, using swipe navigation.
I found a post caliming that "PImp my rom" can disable the nav bar, but it didn't seem to respond to the tweak option, and I still have the soft nav bar
Thank you,
cheers

But expandable Desktop doesnt set the on screen keys to disable, only hide. They'll still show if you're swiping up.
Adding a new line with qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to root/system/build.prop with a text editor Will permanently disable on-screen keys. It would have been handy if there was a UI shortcut for that somewhere.
Anyway I force-disabled Screen buttons, set Double tap to recent apps, and hold button to google now. Then bought the app you suggested to set all 3 swipe from bottom gestures to mimic the back function. Now the navigation feels just like FireOS's except amazon search assistant is replaced with google and I love it.

Using a prop editor, I was able to add h qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to root/system/build.prop <-- fantastic fix
I then customized the home button to do double tap-- app library, and hold-- switch back to last app.
Swipe Navigation works wonders, just as Chocolina stated above
Better solution
If you want to completly disable navigation bar soft keys then you must install slim kat,you can easily completly disable the soft keys and can add swipe up navigation just like amazon..i m also using slim kat rom and i have personally tested all roms but look wose slim kat is the best rom and no bugs in it..i have also disabled the system navigation keys and added swipe up to go back and hold home button for recent apps.
