I did a funny think. I choose elgiganten [email protected] It didnt work until the release on 2 april. And then it was all about being able to go a distance. They had it in uppsala so i went stockholm to uppsala and got mine. Unfortunatly i got a used one that someone else had opened so i returned it and got a new one just 20 minutes later :=). So now im almost happy. Just one thing, i dont understand, i cant se 1.26 anywhere on my phone. Only 1.20. sumthing on the software version.

To bad you feel that way. I'm perfactly happy with my phone. It's just plain awsomeness!
And I'm the picky kind of guy but I too had problems with my first device which I turned in and got replaced. But my new one? Just sweet!
On topic I do not think the mailservice work during earster no :/

I got my replaced but its the same problem with the new one aswell. Will take contact with HTC after the easter! Will use my SGS I9000 so long till it's been solved That phone is a phone you can trust on in any weather
Seriosly why do I se software version as 1.20... Anyone else in Sweden have this?.. I just saw a screenshot that showed 1.26.. and that is standard.and I don't se any uppdates avalible for my phone.
Also does everyone get a android is upgrading on restart. It says optimizing application x of y... Like it goes through all my apps n optimezes them everytime I restart my phone..

I went back to elgiganten. Apparently i had gotten a review version. Just changed it. I just showed them that if i tick the usb debugging mode it crasches so i got a doa. They where like no we have to send it to service but i showed him that i have only had it for so few days and i cant work with a phone that hangs all the time. So he changed it. No probs :=)
Hey there,i got a serious problem ,last friday (18.05) some guy stole my phone from a Pub,on saturday (19.05) i went to police and told them what happened ,my question for you guys is : Can i trace my phone through web or something by IMEI ? I live in Romania and i dont really put my hopes on police .I tried to install apps like Plan B from market but useless. Need help

Let it be a lesson to think ahead and have proper software in place before the unthinkable happens. good luck recovering your phone. romania is an awful place i grew up around bucharest. We constantly had to watch our back frpm the gypsies!
I've searched and read about this SDS thing ,and i think my phone just had one :crying:
basically it was lying on the table for a few minutes , then i picked it up and tried to start the screen, but nothing happens !
battery removed , charging , sim/sdcard removed ,recovery/download mode didtn show up neither , ALL DID NOT WORK !!!!
its just stuck and wont start up. and it shows that blinking red light near proximity sensor.....
it was perfectly fine a few moments ago but now its just dead.. i am non rooted on stock 4.1.1.
any suggestions please, really in need of the community help now ? :crying:
i've read that in 4.1.2 they fixed it , so is there a way to flash thru Odin while its dead already??

If it IS an SDS, then it's dead and gone. No way to recover. You'll have to send it back to Samsung and they're replace the motherboard. Take your SD card out before you send it.
How do i know it is an SDS ? is there any other specific symptoms that i missed out ?

Did you root it? If not, you can send it back to Samsung for repairs.
Which custom ROM / Kernel were u using before it died ?
Did the kernel has fix for SDS ? like Perseus kernel ?
The recovery your using has SDS fix too ? tell us these details with versions included.

Yup, that's an SDS alright. All of them have the same symptom once dead. Time to call Sammy.

i mean this SDS warning was all over the place, im surprised you werent aware that it was highly recommended you upgrade to 4.2.1 or above to avoid this very issue since you seem like an active xda participant.

I'm afraid I am on the same boat as you and bad news is they will boot it in download mode and find that the firmware will read 'custom' which means they think you might have rooted the phone and won't repair it free of charge. I am currently looking for ways to deal with them. My case happened in Hong Kong though.....Good Luck to you.

yeah i am an active participant. but unfortunately, for the past 3 months i was off xda and didnt read or check anything , only if i knew , i truly regret it. bcos updating it wont even take 5 minutes....
the problem is , i made 5 other friends of mine buy Notes 2 !!! now im too scared to tell them all about this ,
very frustrated from Samsung and their stupid software department , cant believe the user have to look after his device bcos they cant get it right. had my Note 1 on the bricking risk due to that emmc bug as well but i took care of it thanks to xda.

how will they find it on "custom"? i've never rooted the device , never felt the need for it, and did that on purpose to keep the warranty.

I think instead of blaming each other for not updating and what not we should be pointing fingers at samsung for their ignorance in this matter. The least you'd expect from them is their acknowledgement of this serious flaw and compensate the customers by offering recalls and updating the phones at the nearest service centers coz not everyone has time or knowledge to do updates and not to mention this is a mandatory update. So many people get turned away from the service center simply because their phones were rooted which has absolutely nothing to do with the cause of SDS to top it up they're still selling the phones off with the old 4.1.1 rom in most places. Just frustrating. Good luck with you getting your issue resolved.

Update :
i got the phone back today from the service center :victory: :laugh: , they repaired it for almost 300$ , fortunately it went under warranty, so i payed nothing (ive never rooted).
they replaced the chip or the motherboard , i dunno what exactly, but still with the emmc checker app i still have that buggy chip !!!!!
i guess im on the safe side now since samsung pushed DMB2 update here in switzerland (4.1.2.) and it came already installed on my repaired phone. however i cant explain the relief (and frustration at Samsung continuous stupidity with high-end devices), since ive been really struggling without my Note 2 (used a cool but very slow nexus one).

Well Ive exhausted all software related methods to fix this Note, Ill be opening the chasis today or tomorrow , and checking out the antenna , which I suspect because it connect two different areas , if the antenna isnt the problem the motherboard has a defect , although I need to call samsung before I do this as I chatted yesterday with them and they said they might be able to get this fixed because it could be still under warranty (try that first of course) /
After dealing Straight Talk fro lots and lots of hours trying to get my service back on my OG Note those idiots couldnt do anything , my contract expires tomrrow , already signed on with AIO , we'll see how that works , 1 week and half without my phone ,Straight talk sucks there days are numbered anyway!

I'm looking to root my sharp rouvo v but am having trouble finding anything on the phone other than what it says on the box when you buy it ...seems like everything I try to do with it is blocked by one error or another then I have to spend days trying to figure out how to fix it to find some jenky "method" you have to use like it's a darn game to these manufacturers ..like anyone wants to spend three days wondering why the phone they purchased is messed up with malware and how to fix it ..lime everyone wants to be an android hacker ..some people are out there that would like to use they're phone to recieve calls and make texts ...not everyone wants to know what a goddamn bootloader or root is to make a damn call ..rediculous ...just fix the damn problem they make no everyone cares how to rebuild a cellphone and I cerntainely didn't sign up for that when I bought one ..if I wanted a job in it I'd be doing it already Jesus ...

Type in sharp rouvo v root where it says it'll show me my method of rooting I ha e to use ..followed by a week of constant downloading and showering the Internet for drivers buy a windows computer , another phone , to get another error but now the PC I bought just for this is broken too ...from the malware on my phone so tell me how is that ....cause I can nnectex them ..well the manufacturer said plug the phone Into the computer and use fastboot ..whatever the front door that is so that was another week gone reading about what it is and how to use it to get a waiting on device erorr ..didnt work ..not only that the PC is so badly screwed off it won't turn on ..so now I'm out hundreds of dollars all over a stupid as a cellphone and run around I've been put through .I just wanted a damn new phone what the hell is alml this crap
