There will be a marginal savings in battery if you set it to lte/cdma.

Turn off LTE and Camera Shutter Sound

Hi!
Problem:
I have a Korean LG Optimus Pro F240K and we can only select between GSM and WCDMA in Network settings. In my case I I wanted a 3G only WCDMA connection i.e. connects to 3G but doesn't try to search for LTE . So my data worked but sometimes it gave a pop-up message "Network not found" , nothing serious but slightly annoying.
Fix:
if you are rooted go and edit your build.prop, find the line:
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1 -----> telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0
reboot
Problem2:
The camera shutter sound was on even if the phone was silent or in vibrate which was again a bit annoying.
Fix:
if you are rooted go and edit your build.prop, find the line:
ro.camera.sound.forced=1 -----> ro.camera.sound.forced=0
reboot
Hope this helps someone

strage. ... mine is E988 (SG version) I don't need to root or mod anything to fix those things.
For problem 1 go to: Settings> Tethering & Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > Select "WCDMA Only"
for problem 2 open camera, turn off "iA" if you've enabled it. Then click setting (on the bottom left), scroll down, select "Off" in shutter sound.
is that because F240Ks don't have such functions???

1. Yes, we can choose WCDMA only in K model but there are no other detailed options like mentioned in the other thread...... in my case i wanted a 3G only WCDMA not a 3G+LTE WCDMA so i did it this way...
2. No option to turn off shutter sound completely in F240K
Yeah right no option to turn sound off in camera settings in F240K.
For my LG G Pro E986 i could shut off the camera shutter sound like this:
1) Find the build.prop file in the /system folder.
2) open the build.prop file with an text editor (which has root access)
3) Scroll down to the category called "ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES" or use search function
4) Look up for the keyword called "ro.camera.sound.forced" and set this to "0"
5) reboot your phone and that's it.

How to disable autoswitch network mode

Sorry, for my bad Englisg.
On stock firmware, when I change network mode to EVDO only, its everytime save this mode. I am enable and disable airplane mode, reboot phone, but network mode EVDO only everytime.
On all Cyanogenmod versions I setup EVDO only and change airplane mode or reboot phone, its automatically change network mode to WCDMA preffered or CDMA/LTE.
Cyanogenmod/LinageOS Roms has way to save selected network mode after reboot or change airplane mode? Or maybe its has adb commands to change network mode from CMD ?
Thanks

Bug with WCDMA only

I can't switch to WCDMA ONLY in network type menu. I choose the network type, but nothing happens. No problem with 2G only, WCDMA Perferred, LTE/3G/2G.
But I could easily change the network with *#*#4636#*#*. But after a reboot, it's returns the network that is choosed in setting (usually 2G).
My device is d2tmo. I tried all LineageOS based firmwares. All of there with this bug.
Can you help to fix this problem?

how to specify different APN?

I just installed the latest pie lineageos ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S5 (Sprint version). I am unable to choose or add an APN through the settings app.
I can see (surprisingly) that the Tello APN (which is what I need to use) is in /etc/apns-conf.xml.
Is there some way to enable APN selection in the phone's UI? Or, is there some way to manually edit config files on the phone to specify my desired APN?
Thanks.

No menu option to get to APNs. The closest thing is "Carrier settings", and when I select that, some error occurs, because I get kicked back out to the main settings menu.

MTK engineering World mode error

I am on miui 12.5 Global A11. I have this strange issue. In MTK engineering mode, I changed the world value to 16 and suddenly my 3G gone. Only 4G and 2G. And now When I set the 12 value again, the following error show.
The more strange thing is even after fastboot install the ROM again, the value remains 16 and can't be changed to 12. While If I revert back to Miui 12 A10 the issue solves and I can also change the value from any value to other. And 12 can be set without an issue because 3G will only work on world mode setting 12 and auto mode with LWCG.
Please help me on this issue as my country doesn't has VOLTE yet and with the absence of 3G, the call quality become too weak and distorted on 2G.
Type 16 in the World Mode field and hit Set.
Where did you access world mode, I can't find it

Under the dialog field on the screenshot above.
edit: type *#*#3646633#*#* in the dialer, engineer mode opens, scroll down.
World mode is not there. I think I figured it out though. My phone isn't rooted therefore the option is missing. I tried to find it with activity launcher and the option has a lock on it. World mode is o my available with root access.
