On my home Wi-Fi network I have a strange problem that only seems to affect Google apps. Basically they have no connectivity. Hangouts can't send or receive, YouTube can't load videos, Google+ cannot load data. I can send texts, browse the web fine though. Sometimes but not always the play store will not work either. Other app that connect to the internet work fine such as chrome. If I turn off Wi-Fi and use 3G, it works. The only way I can get it working is to reboot the phone. I had switched to cyanogen mod 10.1 and never encountered this problem on my S3 so it's not some kind of hardware problem. At first i thought it was a problem with the Wi-Fi but i don't have any problems with my nexus 7 or iPad on the same network or even at the same time my S3 doesn't work.
Has anyone else seen this before or have any ideas?

It will load the photo pic/vid in browsing for vids and searching but when you go take watch it just gives you the continuous loading (spin wheel) but no percent loading
Hi,
Just tried this for you and its working fine on mine

Are you on T-Mobile? Have you disabled HTTP proxy? I ran the youtube app on my Hermes a few months ago, and I seem to recall it would only work if you bypassed T-Mobiles proxy.
Thats a very good point, thats caused me problems in the past with exchange and Slingplayer etc.
YouTube not working
Hi Guys,
I can't get youtube to work either, I have already disabled the proxy as that screwed up my exchange connection but I'm not even getting a list of videos, it just says that there is no connection available at this time - I am connected via GPRS.
I'll try it again tonight when connected through HSDPA and also via WIFI to see if T-Mobile is blocking me or it's just crap.
Youtube
Has anyone tried m.youtube.com?
it connects through your streaming media program, it works perfectly that way.
no issues wid youtube here! i will say that over GPRS it will not load as connection will time out! over HSPDA it works and with WIFI also. just palyed a 10 min video over HSPDA and didn't even stop to buffer once!
Yes tried to disable proxy but they were already disabled. On at&t running edge and wifi no worky Besides this issue awesome phone

Mine now works a treat, I needed a fast connection (HSDPA) to bring it into life but it now works even in regular GPRS.... although slow and buffers a lot! lol

No issues with YouTube (T-Mobile Germany)

I am having the same problem with a TP2 on the ATT network. What I have noticed is that Youtube will work using the wi-fi but as soon as I use it on the EDGE network it renders the wi-fi inoperable. I can still view videos over the EDGE network but I can no longer view through the wi-fi connection. I have tried a soft reset but the only way it will work again is through a hard reset. I have also experienced it not working on both wi-fi and EDGE using a different ROM. I am currently using the Energy ROM 20090917 Standard and it was working fine over the Wi-Fi until I tried to view a video through the EDGE network.
The ROM I found that would work on both Wi-Fi and EDGE is the UDK TiRv1.1_0409, however the MMS didn't work because of Manila 2.5 so I switched to the above ROM with Manila 2.1.
Is there a way to clear the Youtube cache or reset its settings?
no issues here, you tube works flawlessly
Has anyone noticed certain vidoes that are inaccessible via Mobile? For example, I can't access Lonely Island's "I'm on a boat" video via youtube mobile on my tp2 but I have no problem seeing other more non-popular clips.
my youtube wont work
i keep getting a microsoft error message
anyone have any idea how 2 fix that
Anyone else getting this error? (on Sprint 3g)
"error connecting to 66.220.147.47:80 Timed out"
I cleared data on Facebook and tried to set it up again, however it would not connect.
I connected to a wifi network and had no issues. Every other app on 3G connects with no issues as well. It is almost as if Sprint is blocking facebook, since I was also not able to go to www.facebook.com in the browser.
Im having the same problem. But i cant even connect with wifi.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I think facebook is having issues. I can not get there on my PC either
Ok cool. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt me. I got the same response over at geeks from some other people.
Thanks guys!
I've noticed lately, that when connected via WiFi, my Galaxy Nexus cannot retrieve my emails from my exchange account - I get the unable to connect to server message. If I switch over to the cell radio (4g or 3g), it connects fine.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,
Wad
No trouble here since switching from my D1 to my GNex. I use touchdown to access my exchange email though and I'm always on wifi. If you don't use TD it is highly recommended. Great app!

Have you had this problem on several wifi networks, or just one?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
It is most prevalent on my home network (att dsl). That said, it also happens at work.
It is an intermittent problem - it will sync sometimes, just not most of the time.
And, I do not use Touchdown, just the stock exchange account.

im having the same intermittent problem on my galaxy nexus over wifi with exchange
I have no trouble at home or at work using WiFi to sync with the default Email app that comes with ICS.
I am on a GSM Nexus and not using Exchange, I do see wifi problem when screen is off, however.
Large download / Shoutcast streaming will be interrupted within a few seconds after the screen is turned off.
From what I gathered, it looks like wifi went into Power Saving Mode (PSM) which requires supported access point to maintain the connectivity.
I wish there was a way to disable PSM on Galaxy Nexus as it appears that none of my APs support this mode.
Has anyone ever had a problem on Instagram with wifi? For me its slow and sometimes doesn't load or says error. If I disconnect and reconnect it will work better for a little. My LTE is amazing on Instagram but wifi isn't...I did try other networks and still same over wifi.
Same thing happened to me... It was working fine before... But now it doesn't on wifi... However if I use cell net it works fine... Is there any fix for this?
Well after latest android 10 update, i noticed that whenever the phone is locked for a long time i dont recieve any whatsapp, messenger calls and notifications but i didnt think there was a problem
Till i put my mobile somewhere and forgot, i tried to use google to ring my phone or find it but it couldnt, apparently the phone loses all net connectivity from wifi (no 4g/3g data plan)
I tried locking the phone myself and replicating the problem but apparently it stay connected for a while before disconnecting, for how long?! I dont know yet!!
I am investigating it, and thought to share it with you to see if it happens to anyone else or may be someone knows the culprit
