Well after latest android 10 update, i noticed that whenever the phone is locked for a long time i dont recieve any whatsapp, messenger calls and notifications but i didnt think there was a problem
Till i put my mobile somewhere and forgot, i tried to use google to ring my phone or find it but it couldnt, apparently the phone loses all net connectivity from wifi (no 4g/3g data plan)
I tried locking the phone myself and replicating the problem but apparently it stay connected for a while before disconnecting, for how long?! I dont know yet!!
I am investigating it, and thought to share it with you to see if it happens to anyone else or may be someone knows the culprit
Look this In battery settings

Hi guys
First thing my desire is unbranded and unrooted.
Ever since applying the last OTA my portable hotspot has stopped working.... I connect to a data network no problem, but when I turn on portable hotspot, I loose the data connection. I can see it trying to get the connection back but it loops for around a minute and then gives up with no errors.
My wifi has been fine since the upgrade.
Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas how to fix it???
Many thanks
David
I'm not sure this is the answer to your problem, but hey maybe it is the answer so someone else's problem
A Wifi device is either a client or a server - not both at the same time.
If you tell the phone to be a Wifi server, and it was connected to a Wifi network then that connection ceases to exist.
Next it will broadcast its own Wifi network for other devices to use. Those devices (and your phone) can then browse the web, send mail etc. using your 2G/3G connection, and they can talk to one another using local ip addresses handed out by the phone.
I hope this cleared things up, if not for you then maybe for someone else
Yup - experiencing an issue whenever I select "Press to turn on".. doesn't seem to do much of anything (beyond the Processing dialogue).. and while I get the Icon in the Notification bar there is no hotspot available. Can't configure it either..
similar specs on the phone... unbranded / unrooted

This one issue - I will lose data connection even though i have 5 bars - I pop in and out of airplane mode - then have service back. It happens more than a few times a day. My G1 never had this problem. (I don't know if it happens with a voice services)
This issue happens with any program requiring a data connection. Anybody else having this problem - would it be a hardware or software thing? It is not a "deathgrip" thing - since it also happens when its sitting in my car, not in my hand.
Thank you.
Update. Changed battery manager to performance. Noticed that data was only affected. Voice calls still worked. I just want my slacker to work at night.
Well, USA or "other" phone? Reason I ask is because the USA T-Mo version has a wifi calling app that can fiddle with your "preferred network type." At any rate next time it happens you might check that setting for the heck of it. *#*#INFO#*#*, (*#*#4636#*#*). Otherwise maybe your SIM is NFG?
Hi Guys,
So, I've been using the GNex for about a month. I moved to this phone from a Moto Atrix and here is what I have noticed and have looked around but didn't see any good answers to these questions I am having. Hopefully I get some answers here.
Device info:
GNex GSM version on ATT.
Running JB 4.1.1 Stock with Trinity Kernel (rooted and bootloader unlocked).
Issue #1: I get really bad reception at work. But, when I leave the building, my phone doesn't automaticaly connect back to the network. Sometimes, if I don't check my phone, it's been like that all night long until the next day when I have tried to make a call and it said "No Network Available" and I have to either reboot or toggle airplane mode to get back on the network. Am I missing something? In my past experience with other devices, they try to automatically connect back to the network when they loose connectivity. Also, if I get in an elevator during a call and the call gets dropped due to network unavailability, it doesn't connect back to the network and I have to toggle airplane mode. Has anyone else had this issue?
Issue#2: This is with the stock mail app. Specifically the search in this mail app. No matter what, it always returns zero results. Has anyone had this issue with the Mail App? If I use the Gmail app, it works fine. That's what I am using now, but am curious as to what I may be missing that make it not return any search results in the stock mail app.
Q3: Speed Dial: How do you set speed dial on the dialer? Is it even supported?
thanks in advance,
vG

it could be to do with your radio, what version is it? baseband version in about phone. im no expert but when i flashed a jellybean rom i had to update my radio afterwards cause my signal was dropping alot. i also had the same problem later on but that was down to my network operator. before i realised it was them i googled my problem and a few forums suggested that my sim card was goosed. so maybe check those three possibilities? i cant help with the other two issues unfortunately but good luck sorting it out!

Anyone else notice Wi-Fi randomly deciding to turn off/not connect to automatic networks, like your home or office?
I notice that sometimes I'll pick up my phone and go to use the VPN and it will say I can't connect because I'm not connected to the Internet. Or I'll get an email in Gmail while using my laptop and wonder why my phone didn't beep just then and notify me. I then look in the to corner and see it isn't connected to my network, nor making an attempt to. The Wi-Fi signal symbol just isn't there. The Wi-Fi quick settings button is highlighted meaning Wi-Fi is in fact enabled, but it isn't connected to it for some reason. The second I go look at the network list -- and it does see all the networks so I know for sure it is enabled and scanning -- it instantly tries to connect and does so perfectly fine.
I thought it was just a bad signal once or a router issue, but it has happened several times now since updating to 4.3. This has never happened before.
It's just like it randomly decides not to try and connect to the network unless I open up the network list. It's random as far as I can tell. It's usually fine, but it has happened on more than one occasion now since upgrading to 4.3.
Any ideas? I haven't changed any settings since 4.3. I thought it might be battery/idle related, but once I get it to connect again, it stays connected no matter what the status of the battery or how long it's idle. This makes me think it's probably a bug.
Anyone having issues with not finding their home wifi? I'm in my house and all of a sudden the wifi will disappear and can't find it either. The only solution is to restart the phone over and over again.
Hi, yes same problem. You can fix it by going into airplane mode for 2 minutes.... but still this is a very annoying problem and the nubia support recommends to wipe the phone..... did that and same issue.... dunno what to do.
Did you find a fix in the meantime?
Hmm never had that issue with mine, did you go to the wifi settings and turn on 5g? Not sure if that is the reason it never happens to me or not. I can connect to my 5g Asus router which is on the 1st floor, and get 80 Mbps up and down on the 3rd floor. Wifi calling and text work fine to atleast with t mobile, maybe try turning that on? Hmm let's see what other settings I changed, can't think of anything else. My phone is updated to the latest update.
I also contacted nubia. I have no choice but to send the phone back which sucks because it's great for gaming.

The thing is, the wifi works as long as your at home. When you leave the range of that WIFI and come back to it, it simply wont show ANY WIFI... it seems as the WIFI- Service stopped working..... only airplane mode does work.
try and reset the network setting. I read somewhere that it's to do with the saved wifi's. I didn realized but I had 20 wifi's saved that have been transfered from my previous phone. I haven't had an issues since.
