I'm trying really hard to root but I'm stuck. I flashed the CWM RECOVERY FINAL using Odin and it worked but when I launch SuperSU, allow it to update binaries, select normal (not TWRP) it says "installation failed". What am I doing wrong? I'm unclear what I should do with the root.zip?
1.Put root.zip to your sd card.
Next go to recovery(turn off your tab, then simultaneously press Power, volume up and home at the same time, when you see the samsung galaxy tab logo Release the power button while still pressing volume up and home button)
2.Navigate to your recovery
Volume up - up
Volume down - down
Power -select
Back button- return/back
3.select install from sd/ zip. Then choose root.zip

What is recovery? There is "apply update from external storage" but when I select it it says "E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory).

How did u flash cwm recovery final on ur 1st post
Sent from my SM-T210R using xda app-developers app
1)Tried flashing Pre_Rooted_P5210XXUAMG6_P5210OXXAMG3.tar.md5 from here but failed
2)Let battery die
3)Flashed stock.recovery I think
Now Odin doesn't work and i can see a difference because in recovery mode it used to say "be careful, only continue if you know what you're doing" but now it doesn't.

Don't do this... if your on mtd, which you are if your using twrp you can't odin in any recovery... you either have to odin to complete stock or hope the restore.zip ends up working... or a kernel flash works....

Do you mean in the left side of the screen??
Odin Mode
P. N.: GT-N7100
Custom Binary Download: Yes (3 Counts)
Current Binary: Samsung official
System status: Custom
Sorry for my bad English. I hope you can understand me well.
So pit file doesn't work normal and recovery firmware doesn't work and you are stuck on update failed screen.
Except the last one I can only conclude it's an sds issue. But it's stuck on update failed.
Try a usb jig. If it resets counter then return it to service center.

Hello, so today i was getting a play market error so i decided to flash another recovery, as mine is the earliest versions of TWRP, so i went ahead and flashed it with Odin. It was successful, but wouldn't boot into recovery. So i went ahead and tried to flash another recovery and now it says NAND write fail. Is it bricked ?
It still boots to 4.2.2 AOSP, but i have no root so can't flash recovery.
I AM OFFICIALLY SCREWED !
After getting out of download mode, it wouldnt boot anymore. Firmware upgrade issue. !
I would say buy a usb jig from eBay. Much faster and cheaper than anything else. It forces the phone to go to download mode and from then you can go to Odin and flash stock.

if you can get into d/l mode, you have it whipped.
Here's the TWRP 2.5.0.2 file:
https://hotfile.com/dl/230303459/7ce1553/openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.2-jfltexx.tar.html
Install with ODIN.
Steps to follow........
Method #1 -
Place file in PDA box*
Uncheck all other boxes.
Press start.
When installation is complete, unplug usb cord and pull the battery.
Insert the battery but Don't turn on the phone.
Place phone in Recovery mode via the Power + Volume up buttons.
Method #2 -
The other way I've read to install TWRP Recovery is:
Place the TWRP 2.5.0.2 tar in the PDA box*
Check the auto reboot box and f time reset box.
Start the installation and let the phone reboot.
I believe Method #2 is the method of choice, but sometimes the Recovery doesn't take, so Method #1is recommended.
Here is an explanation why:

well in case of philz recovery flash were u sucessful in getting philz recovery if not did u noticed this lines in ketan thread
Note :
normally, phone should auto-reboot into recovery.
If it reboots into android and your recovery remains stock, repeat above steps and untick "autoreboot" in odin. Once flash is done, keep pressing power button until it reboots (normally will go to recovery)
when in recovery, if you choose option "reboot system now" and you get "yes - disable flash recovery", select that option to avoid stock recovery overwriting cwm
make sure usb debugging enabled on phone and disable anti virus .
