Stuck at Boot Screen - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
The GT-N7100 of my friend does not boot.It is stuck at the first screen ( Black screen with samsung galaxy note II gt-n7100).
He tried to install a custom rom and installed a Custom Recovery. In Custom Recovery the cache partition couldnt be load. So I cant wipe or format anything. If I want to install a zip, the Recovery just get stuck before even selecting a zip file.
I can access download mode. So I tried to flash another recovery. Odin says successful but the recovery is still the same ????
I also tried to flash a stock rom with Odin... nothing changed
So I dont know what to do next
Please help me!
Thanks in advance

well flash philz recovery via odin
untick "autoreboot" in odin. Once flash is done, keep pressing power button until it reboots (normally will go to recovery)
when in recovery, if you choose option "reboot system now" and you get "yes - disable flash recovery", select that option to avoid stock recovery overwriting cwm
now proceed with wipe and after flashing rom ,fix permission and wipe cache and dalvic cache twice then reboot

I wanted to try this, but this download contains just one file. Even if I extract the tar, there are not the files included which are discribed in the thread...
quite strange....
I simply cant flash anything with Odin. Odin says success, but nothing happened to the phone. I didnt read something about people who are having the same issue
This drives me mad .....

well its not sds for sure so it seems either recovery has gone corrupted as,the pit file u said is not required though u can find it here to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696 post 4 no4 pit file16gb
but i would suggest you to try the recovery thing as mentioned in the link as see as the one i mentioned is used when it does not enter recovery try this version http://d-h.st/vCc
keep the power button pressed it should enter recovery leave the power button when u see samsung logo
I did it long time back so dont remember exactly whether to keep pressing power button or to hold power button worked for me as auto reboot was not working for me so did the other way round as mentioned to you

Im glad to hear that it is not sds.
I tried to flash the recovery of your link:
If I leave the phone connected if I press the power button after flashing just the battery symbol apears after a while.
If I disconnect the phone, it tries to boot normal...no recovery...
If I tap on the power button again and again nothing happens.....
If I try to boot into recovery with the 3 button combo there is still the old clockwork recovery.
I also tried to do a emergency recovery with kies. Kies does download all the files and when it starts to flash it gets stuck at 0 % and sais phone is not connected in the right way but it is...
In Odin mode the phone displays
custom binary downloads : Yes ( 1 counts)
But did flash the recovery at least 3 times ...So why does it still display 1

do u have kies installed when u trying odin if yes then delete it just install the samsung drivers nothing else and disable your antivirus too.
orelse u may try
thats quite strange ok now its time to try the mskip tool just delete all old samsung drivers and kies
and start fresh from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923956
and as far as the count in concerned its 1 as you were only able to enter recovery once thats why after that u were not able to so as many times u enter custom recovery the count increases

Do you think it makes sense todo re-partition with the pit file?
There is also a Bootloader to download on this site...

i would say no until there is an error which shows no pit partition found but after the above steps if it does not then u can give it a fresh start flash the pit first then the firmware . check youtube as how to do it there are vidoes described on how to flash pit and then the firmware.
i would suggest not to do something which you are not sure of and land urself in other issues though flashing pit and firmware is fine but i am not sure about the bootloader maybe u can ask in that specific thread , keten might be the best person to guide you in that case if its safe

Help with Samsung Galaxy

I have a Sprint Galaxy S II 4G Touch, I rooted with Odin SPH-D710.EL_29CL852097_ROOTED_NODATA program. The phone worked fine. I then tried to unroot the phone using Odin v. 1.85 twith the PIT file that came with it and the Stock_EK02.Tar file. I accidently inserted the Tar file into the BOOTLOADER, PDA AND PHONE boxes. Now my phone is stuck in the Galaxy S II screen, however I can get to Odin recovery mode. Is there anyway to reclaim any usage from my phone. Please Help...
Reboot on download mode and install one of the sfhub one click roms the el29 might need good for you.

Download the one-click option and follow the steps outlined by sfhub. It will restore your phone to a stock out of the box state.
Reboot
When I do the reboot via battery out volume down with power button, I get a screen that has ODIN MODE in red at top left. Below that in white is PRODOCUT NAME: SPH-0710,CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO, CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL. Below that the green Android robot. Below that Downloading... Do not turn target off!! No other options. The only way to install is from a file from the computer... can I install the hub file from computer and do I do with odin? The Galaxy S II screen and this reboot are the only options I can get too. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sfhub's program is the easiest thing you've ever done (it's saved my bacon loads of times!). You just put the phone into download mode, plug it into your PC and then run the program you downloaded from the post I originally linked.
Good luck!
I didn't get a link... I see many sfhubs downloads. I have the rooted EL29 No data downloading EL29 Stock Root. However, I have tried the one click EL29 No data root and then phone will only boot to Galaxy screen... I am new to Android OS.. I have only been familiar with Nokia since the beginning of time. Have transformed many of those... But can always go back to factory..Clicked Thanks too.... what file do I need???

That's not a good sign but let's try a couple of other things.
If you have Kies installed remove/uninstall it.
Download the full Samsung driver suite and install it from here:
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...342248/Sprint_d710_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0.exe
Try the oneclick odin again. If it still fails, try your usb cable in all the different usb ports or even try a different computer too if possible. If you have access to a different cable that would be nice to try also.

I have tried all of the above methods in this thread. I still get the same failed status with the one click file. I have tried laptops, desktops on multiple usb ports.
still getting the same fail message, posted above.
I disabled the phone with Odin3 v. 1.85.. see above. Is there any single files to flash into the BOOTLOADER, PDA AND PHONE spaces that I originally overwrote? I also ran again with the Re-Partion box clicked. Please Help!!!
When you are in download mode, tell us exactly what text is displayed on the screen there please.

Also, have you tried using odin to flash just a kernel yet?

I tried to flash the Tar file I stated earlier but flashed it in the wrong places. What kernal/s would you suggest flashing?
Sorry for the slow responses having issues with my Samsung Transform Ultra now too. That is what I am using for my data service on PC. I did a mandatory samsung update the other day and barnacle doesn't work, can not unroot the phone and down to usb tethered connection that is to slow, but one phone at a time. I would like to get my Galaxy back. It was great.
And on PC on the Odin screen I get:

Ok no problem.
Here is a link to an Odin guide. Not very helpful but it tells you a few necessary things and it's handy to have around if you ever need to know what the buttons are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274337
Right above where it says:
DO NOT USE PHONE FOR ANYTHING BUT A RADIO/MODEM - YOU WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE ABLE TO USE YOUR PHONE FOR CALLS, AND YOU MAY POSSIBLY BRICK IT - YOU'VE BEEN WARNED
it tells you what the different keys are.
Anyway, download StockCWM-EL26.TAR from here (you may have to rename it without the MD5 to work with ODIN):
http://chris41g.devphone.org/index.php?dir=EpicTouch/Stock+Repack/EL26/
Open odin, load the tar file in pda, the only 2 things should be checked are reboot and PDA, click on start.
Let me know what happens.
I got this message on the PC Odin screen when I flashed the EL-26.tar:

Ok, Now the phone boots into a different Galaxy screen. Now boots to Samsung Galaxy S ii GT-I9100 screen and when connected to the usb cable on restart the PC explorer shows the 2 internal mmc drives then doesn't if that makes any sense.
Then in Odin Mode on the phone has changed too. ODIN MODE in red top left. Under that in white is: PRODUCT NAME: SPH-0710, under that is CUSTON BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (2 counts), under that CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM... THEM THE ANDROID robot then Downloading then Do not turn off target!!
Ok cool we're making progress, now do you have any flashable rom zip files on the phone? And calkulin's format all? If so, boot up with pwr/vol up key, flash format all, then rom.

I just want you to know ahead of time , if we can get it running with a ROM, I'm going to ask you to save what you need off of the phone because I'm going to ask you to do a full reset back to stock and format everything. I want to make sure you are good to go especially due to what you did in ODIN initially so maybe this won't happen again. I will give you more instructions on that later though, let's see how this goes. Tnx.
OK when I boot with volume up/power button... I get many options... from top to bottom they are: - reboot system now, - apply update from sdcard, - wipe data/factory reset, - wipe cache partition, - install zip from sdcard, - backu and restore, - mounts and storage, - advanced, - power off...
Below that at the bottom in white I get ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7 then under:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/commmand
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
That's fine. Do you remember if you have any roms on the phone and are they on internal or external SD?
---------- Post added at 08:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:35 PM ----------
What's up with the lag again between responses? Are you tethering the pc (no high speed internet?)
Your gonna want to download a rom and copy it over to your phone if u dont have 1.. To do so while in recovery u can goto mounts and storage mount usb.. Then u can copy and paste..after that.. Factory reset twice.. The power button is he back button home button is enter button vol up goes up vol down goes dowb.. Goto advanced options in main recovery menu and wipe dalvik cache...flash a rom and reboot..once rebooted...u need to power down and boot into download mode vol - & power.. Load sfhub el29 stock rooted and let it flash...once done..shut down..flash latest modem fe10. Go into your phone update prl and profile... Shut down..goto download mode flash el26 cwm kernel and once phone shuts off innediatelt vol + & power.. Youll boot into recovery now flash the rom of your choice im assuming first one u did in recovery and flash it.. Flash gapps and kernel if need be...u can get all the newest kernels and modems from sfhubs post abd youll want to dowoad the cwm ones to flash through recovery

Reboot system now
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from external strorage
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partiton

Reinstall Complete Stock firmware using Odin & then root
Hi..
Looks like you have got boot loop for while trying to root your phone.
Don't worry.. now you need to reinstall the stock firmware on your device.
just follow the following steps:
1- Boot in recovery by pressing volume up, home button & power button simultaneously
2- go to mounts & storage & then..format system first, then format data & finally format cache
3- Now go back to the main menu of your recovery & do format data/factory reset then format cache & then go to advanced & wipe dalvik cache
4- Download your devices stock firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/ ..select your device model & country & download the file...latest firmwares are on top.
5- extract the .zip file you just downloaded & you will get a file with extension .tar.md5
6- Now Boot your device into download mode by pressing Volume down button, home button & power button simultaneously.
7- Launch Odin(v 3.07) now..u can download the attached file. (If the device is detected it will show the COM:# in the ID Com field.)
8- Select the PDA tab & browse & select the firmware file you just extracted.
9- Odin will take a while & finally it will display the message something like checking md5 finished successfully
10- click on the start button & sit back & relax...this may take upto 8 minutes..
11- Unplug the phone after flashing is complete & let the phone boot..
12- Now you will have stock recovery, if you want you will need to flash a custom recovery again.
13- Boot in download mode again & select the PDA tab & browse for the chainfire auto root file (download it from here http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip )
14- extract the file & select this file from the PDA tab in ODIN & click the Start button.
15- let the flashing complete & the phone will display the recovery mode screen again & it will root the device.
16- However after booting the device you might not be able to open the superuser app.
17- To fix this go to play store & update your SuperSu app & then launch it & then it will ask you to disable Knox & select Yes.
18- Congratulations...your device is now rooted.
Hit thanks if i helped you..Let me know if you face any issues... :good:

try out the steps i have mentioned above in my post..i have also attached the Odin v3.07 & clockwork recovery ver 6 files..
for clcockwork recovery you need to extract the .zip file & you will get a .tar file which you can flash using the PDA tab in odin
this wont take more than 15 minutes & as you will wipe everything you will lose all your apps & contacts..but the data on your internal sd card should remain untouched..
Hello @JukkaP,if you take mk9 you have to decompress it to have 4 files after:
open odin and put
bootloader in the 1st case,2sd ap,3t phone,4th csc
phone in download mod
connect it to the pc
you will have "added"
clic on "start" and wait
phone will reboot after flash

No question is stupid

[Q] Stuck in bootloop, Odin keeps failing

Hey everyone, hoping someone can help me out here.
Recently I decided to set my S3 back to stock after running Cyanogenmod for quite some time. Somewhere along the way, I must have grabbed a wrong file, but one thing led to another and my phone got stuck on the Samsung logo while booting. I am able to get my phone into download mode and have tried to flash any rom I can through Odin, but it fails every time. I have even gone and got the official firmware from the Samsung site and it still fails. Here is the error:

Anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
Odin is failing because you are trying to downgrade the bootloader.
What bootloader is on your phone? You have an i747 or i747m?
I have the i747
With an i747 and the fact that Odin is giving an error when trying to flash a stock LK3 ROM, you must have at least a 4.3 bootloader. This means that you cannot use Odin to flash a stock ATT 4.3 or ATT 4.4 ROM unless the ROM has been specifically compiled for use in Odin.
Do not make anymore attempts to to flash the stock LK3 ROM as this may brick your phone.
If you still have a custom recovery on your phone, flash any custom ROM and let us know the baseband.
We're all here to help.
Is there any way to get into recovery mode other than holding the volume up, home, and power buttons? The volume up button on my phone has been broken for quite some time and it took me a while to even find a way to get into download mode so I could attempt to use Odin.

Do you have a ROM on your phone?
Do you mean a ROM in a zip folder that I could flash through recovery? Because I think the only one I have on my phone is the one that could this big mess up
Sorry, I should not have used such ambiguous wording.
Does your phone have a ROM installed that will let you boot to the phone's desktop?
Not sure if this helps but you may be able to use this to flash a ROM and recovery: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Insta..._custom_recovery_on_Galaxy_S_III_.28AT.26T.29
Do you have a USB jig?

That I don't really know about. Is there a way to figure that out? Right now if I just boot the phone, it gets to the Samsung logo and just stays there, never goes any farther. Never makes it to the home screen.
Also, thank you for all your help so far, apparently I don't know as much as I thought I did..
Your phone could have a ROM installed but you probably need to get into recovery to wipe the cache, Dalvik, and data.
I suggest putting a custom rom such as CM10.2 onto an external SD card and try to get into recovery to flash the new ROM. Make sure you wipe cache, dalvik, and data before installing CM10.2.
Ok I will try that and hopefully something will happen. Do you know of a way to get into recovery other than the button combo since I don't have a functioning volume up button and also can't get to the home screen to boot to recovery from there.
Not sure but fastboot commands could work in download mode.
Those commands are given through ADB, correct? I installed ADB and it doesn't show up in the list of devices. I think that since the phone is stuck in a bootloop, it never gets to a point where it can be recognized and receive commands. It also doesn't get recognized in download mode.
When you connect it in download mode, are the drivers installing? Or were they installed from when you first used Odin?
You may have to try and get into recovery using the recovery keys. You have a USB jig?
I uninstalled the original drivers and let it reinstall once I plugged it in, but it still is not recognized. And no, I don't have a jig, I found a program that acts like one that puts it in download mode once I plug it in.
Putting the phone into download via USB program? That would be very helpful for many users. Do you have a link to the program?
I assume you could not get into recovery mode on your phone. Do you have the Touch version of CWM on your phone?

Correct, I cannot get to recovery by using the volume up, home, and power buttons. I was hoping there could be some other program or commands to help me get to it since ADB won't recognize my phone.
And here is the link to the forum with the program that forces it into download mode. It even picks up my phone in a boot loop
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f777/samsung-300k-tool-force-enter-download-mode-via-usb-1718796/
Interesting. I don't have a s3 to try it with but I will definitely keep it around
Do you have any hidden tricks to get into recovery mode without using the volume buttons? It seems like all my problems could be solved if I can get to recovery and flash a ROM, but that broken volume button is preventing me...
Sorry, I just know the button combination or from a booted ROM.
Too bad Samsung doesn't readily support fastboot commands.

Samsng Tab 3 7.0 probably hard bricked

My Samsung SM-T210R is in trouble . It all started after flashing a rom, I believe it was TranchidaKat v 4.3, However after that I have tried so many things that the start means little now.
Situation:
The tablet does not boot either to regular boot or into recovery. It actually appears pretty dead when trying, unless one pays attention to the back lighting of the screen.
Eventually I managed to consistently boot into download (actually ODIN) mode although without the large texting with the warnings and the instruction to press the up volume button (which I do nonetheless).
The report on screen upper left says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SMT210R
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
HW REV: 0x5
From there attempting to flash a number of roms including stock fails. The MD5 checks are always successful. The failure modes are 2 different ones.
The first involves a PIT Partition missing. It happens when attempting to flash non stock roms
The second, flashing a stock rom (the latest: T210RUEU0COB1 and also: T210RUEAMK1 ) or also TWRP Recovery shows:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..

<ID:0/003> SetupConnection.. (It hangs at this point for a very long time)
<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I did a lot of searching for a pit file for my tablet model without coming up with it.
Can someone help me to solve this please?

Thank you for your response.
First if with search function you mean by using google, I have done a lot of of that, but so far with no luck.
I am pretty good with this stuff but not good enough. I would like to find someone who has either a lot of knowledge or has resolved a situation like mine and is willing to help.
The link you suggested is probably good, but does not totally relate to my situation. They had a working device they were simply trying to root. I instead don't have a working device and not even access to recovery mode. I don't even know right now what files and folders are on my device.
Thank you for the pit file though; now I have to find out whether repartitioning with it would be good, or whether it would push me down deeper in the hole.
You can also use the search Funktion here at this forum.
All wath you must do is simular to flash a recovery with Odin.
Download the Stockton from sammobile.com
Boot your tab into download mode
Startup odin
Check autoreboot , repartion and factory reset.
Under Pit you select the Pit.file
Under PDA you select your downloaded Stockrom what you have unziped,so that have a *.tar.md5 extension.
Press Start and Walt some minutes and the Tab will reboot.

If it shows then probably your kernel is working.

No, I am at a lower level than the kernel, I am sure. The only thing ever showing is the wording at the download mode screen.
Another curious thing that seems to be happening is that the battery seems to discharging or not charging since I can only enter download mode only while or after connecting the charger.
Any way thanks for your response.

I am using 3.06. Battery is not really a problem, other than for the unknown reason why it discharges or does not charge completely. I am questioning whether all the trial and errors I have done, since the issue occurred, may have caused some collateral damage. In any case, I can still start download mode after a short time charging

at this point within 15 seconds after the reboot i got a splash screen and it booted up into 4.4.2 checked the status, device status of custom.
restarts and power offs are safe at this point. just take 5 seconds longer than normal.
so now we have an operating tablet with recovery and a messed up but working download mode.
checked download mode screen STILL CORRUPTED with the same weird message
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SMT210R
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
HW REV: 0x5
i checked for twrp to operate it did. just took longer to boot it
PLEASE DO NOT AT THIS POINT wipe everything. it only got me back to the black screen with no booting.
and not being able to odin the .md5 package stock firmwares
it put me back an hour to get back to where these instructions end.
if this happends to you run keis firmware and intialize, to get the stock package back in and return to the corrupted download mode to see binary samsung offical.. then continue my odin instructions.
FALLOW UP:
had some time to experiment. i got back to %100 official system/binary and normal download mode with the green android guy being back.
i had updated to the latest TWRP and rooted.
i then unrooted with the super su app
then with the new kies program called SMARTSWITCH i again did the firmware and initialize and it went through and booted. without a hitch.
try it then go ahead and check for stock recovery and android man in download mode
-your welcome
b.t.w it seems in all the mess im still HW-rev 0x5 and it never installed the knox warraty bit..., blessing in disguise?
if this works for people somebody wanna make a sticky and add it to a 4.4.2 unbricking guide?
be aware that this is what worked for me. if you feel a different recovery or pit file may work go ahead. this is my results and wont be held accountable for what happens to you.

got my tab(SM-T210R) back up and running,,
been at it a few hours a day all this week,
kies firmware upgrade and initializaton somewhat didnt work. it installed it but always booted a black screen and backlight no sound. no vibiration,
so i am back to help the OP' and all others with this specific issue of dirty flashing directly to 4.4.2 from a rooted custom recovery tab3 that now have a messed up black screen problem but can still sneek into download mode thats looking all messed up> with the fallowing message
ODIN MODE

and then get PIT file errors and setup connection hangs.
please be shure you dont still have your custom recovery. you just have to hold home and vol+ ten seconds longer then usual after releasing the power button when the backlight appears. i thot i didnt have mine. until after i did this. now im just not shur if i held the buttons long enough then.
(if you need to get your current binary to offical please use odin's firmware and initialization process.. it will go thru and your binary will be changed to official but you will still have the black screen boot even though kies installed everything. proceed to next)
to get your brick back to being a useful loaf
this is what you need.
factory usb cable
odin 3.07
LT02.pit file from a 4.4.2 firmware (not 100%on that) ask me for the one i extracted if all eles fails
and T210.TWRP.2.8.0.0.tar.md5
start with opening odin
set your pit file and load the twrp recovery_
you want repartition checked for this (loading pit file should automatically fill the check box)
also autoreboot and f.reset time , checkboxes are checked
get your bricked device into download mode and connect
confirm odin sees the device and flash

S3 I747 Softbrick, "NAND FAIL (AUTH)" on flashing, what do I do?

Currently it can run download mode and recovery mode. After the 2nd splash screen it goes to black. To go into these modes, I must remove the battery to shut it down then restart it.
I have tried many things to fix it:
Recovery > Restore Factory Default failed due to error
Odin > Install custom recovery > Restore failed due to error
Odin > flash firmware failed due to:

Thank you for any help.
I think maybe I am using the wrong firmware, or that 3.07/3.09 odin might not work? I tried an earlier version (1.6~ i think) as well and it did not work. What should I do?
NOTE: I HAVE TRIED FLASHING AND RESETTING TO FACTORY DEFAULT. Last guy who tried to answer did not read my question, assumed from the title. Thanks
The flash is failing because the ROM is trying to downgrade your bootloader.
Don't flash anymore ROMs until you verify your bootloader. Flashing random bootloaders and files could hard brick your phone.

Hello and thank you! Before anything, sorry if I ask a lot of questions because I dont really know much about this stuff. I googled to find the bootloader is what function starts the phone basically, and I assume I changed it when I rooted my phone originally.
Is there a way for me to find out what the current bootloader is? I cant access any data from my phone, so I imagine that I cannot. In that case, should I just try to flash the newest bootloader into it if possible?
Download the latest CM11 and Gapps and save them to your SD card and put the SD card into your phone.
Download the latest Odin-flashable verion of Philz Touch recovery for the d2lte from here: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/
Launch Odin 3.07, connect your phone in dowload mode, uncheck everything except f.reset time. Flash Philz. When you see the word "reset" in the status window, disconnect the USB cable, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery, flash CM11, flash Gapps, reboot. Download and install the Samsing Phone Info app from the play store and use the app to verify the bootloader and modem currently installed on your phone.

Hello. I actually do not have an SD card, is there a way to do this without one? I will go buy one if needed, of course.
Thanks for all your help!
Flash Philz recovery, boot into recovery, connect the phone, enable mtp, copy CM11 and Gapps to the internal memory.
If you don't get the mount option in Philz, flash TWRP and try to mount using TWRP.

So I tried to use the "Mount by USB" or whatever in Philz (I assume thats what MTP is in Philz) and I cant find my phone on my PC. I think this is the reason that when I select Mount by USB it just blinks and returns to the menu with no change. I am going to try the SD method because I could not find an answer for the USB issue in a few hours of searching.
BTW, when I put CM11 and Gapps onto an SD and run it through Philz, do I leave them as Zip files? Or do I select the boot.img for CM11 and the install-optional.sh for Gapps?
Do not unzip any of the files. Just flash them from recovery.
Did yo try TWRP instead of Philz to mount the phone on your PC?

Hello! Thank you for all the help.
It ended up not letting me flash CM11 or Gapps though SD, so I struggled for a while. I ended up getting CM12 to work from SD, and then Gapps was able to be installed as well.
It all ended well, and MY GOD its SOOOOO MUCH FASTER AND SMOOTHER at EVERYTHING now.
I think it mightve been worth letting my phone die for a week for this. Thank you so much!
Glad you got it all sorted out. We're all here to help each other. Cheers.:good:
