Amzer Luxe Argyle TPU case... (pictures)

perfect case for me, as im a big fan of the TPU cases in cases in general, had some for my Blackberry before i bought my Captivate.... the cutouts for the charger port/headphone jack/speaker/camera are all perfect, the case fits snug, volume and power buttons arent restricted at all. the case doesnt add much bulk, and the TPU material adds a sure grip on the device.
only dislike i have is the color, i ordered Blue and i thought itd be more of a royal blue, rather than the almost turquoise-ish color that i received. no bother though, ive already put in an order today for the smoke gray.

Looks great. Waiting for pictures of the smoke grey one when that comes in . Big fan of these type of cases but I'd prefer a simple black/dark grey without patterns.

Are the Power/Volume buttons covered or opened?

they're covered, but they're not restricted at all.... they press just as well as if they weren't covered.

How's the overall fit? Loose? There are reviews on vibrant amzer cases on amazon and they say they fit loose.

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like a great case except I can't get over the pattern... it makes me sad. Is it too much to ask for a plain black or plain clear tpu case without funky patterns?

yeah, i wish there was a clear one, but i was waiting for a tpu case from the time i bought the phone so i went ahead and bought this one. hopefully someone comes with a clear one soon though.

What is tpu? Hard or soft, or both? Just wondering because i have a clear plastic case over the phantomskinz white chromatics carbon fiber skin, and lets just say its a tight squeeze. I just ordered a clear gel case from mr. hit and I don't think its gonna cooperate with my belt pouch very well. Something like this IMO would look great over the white chromatics skin. I know it sounds like overkill but I am a freak about protection as I resell all of my old phones to party for the new ones.

TPU is a medium between hard and soft.... its a plastic, a rather firm plastic, but it bends|flexes|gives, but always retains its elasticity - no matter how many times you might put it on and take it off of your phone, itll never get loose and worn, messing up its fit on the device. also does a decent job of shock absorption in the event of drops.

I love this case because it's different than the usual Body Glove case from AT&T that everybody has. I got the clear one and it is a little grippier than the Body Glove case but I like having that extra grip in the hand.

Great TPU Case for Captivate
I bought purple, green and hot pink for my Cappy. I love these. They fit the phone perfectly. No loseness. But easy enough to remove to switch out colors. I wasn't that wild about the argyle pattern either but this is the only TPU type case which is what I had and loved on my iPhone. TPU material is good for gripping but slides in and out of your pocket easily unlike silicone.

I bought the purple and it's a real nice shade.

Go for matte screen protectors. These will reduce the brightness/clarity of the screen in some respects but the quality of some of these are pretty good these days. Cheap ones will generally scratch easily. The ones I've tried for the Nexus 5 are the Gearmaxx and the Nillkin anti-glare. Both have been great in terms of what I wanted. The Nillkin is a bit better I would say in terms of overall smoothness/screen clarity/easy of application etc. Both reasonably priced.
In terms of cases - I would say matte or those silicon type ones. I personally don't like the feel of any of those though. The other option is a skin. Plenty of threads around for these.

I've seen it only in videos. Reviewers said It's a fingerprints magnet, specially the black one.

I've searched this case on Google, and it's anti-fingerprints. But I have to say I don't like the big logo on it. Eitherway, if I don't find any other Caseology is a good choice.

Cases I've tried that do not attract finger print smudge: quicksand case, 0.3mm cheap generic case, diztronic tpu matte. As for the rest like the slim armor and Google bumper case do tend to attract some finger prints.

I have the white ultra fit, haven't used very much yet, but the white back doesn't collect fingerprints. It also feels grippy and makes phone feel slim.
I am not using it yet since I bought a ~1,50€ bumper case at the same time and I am testing it out now.

I bought one unbranded ultra fit white case, and two days later the white is yellow or something like that! (2 dollars on eBay)

Ok, I'll post pics when I get home. Since I've had it for a day, I cant yet tell about its durability, but so far, so good. Feels solid and I trust in Spigen quality.

Photos as requested. Didn't turn out so great, but you get how the case looks on. If you are wondering why my screen looks weird, it's because of a Copter screenprotector, which is rubbery and because of that, it reflects light like that.

Another +1 for the Caseology Carbon Case. Just got mine today and am very impressed... here's some pics:
I also have a Head Case, which is matte, however it doesn't offer as much protection.

Two days use and it still looks in good conditions. I like it. So far how easily gets dirty? After all is white.

It gets dirty pretty easy, white afterall like you said, but things like grease and stains from dirty hands imo can be wiped easily. And you probably could wash the case in worst-case scenarios, I think.

Tech21 Cases

Anyone have input / experience with them? I have a tempered glass screen protector on, and want to lose the otterbox bulk, but can't seem to trust a slim case to be protective.

The tech21 are actually pretty awesome. Ive had one for 2 of my past phones but for my g3 i checked it out at the tmobile store and compared it to the incipio and being practically the same amount of protection i went with the incipio cause it was 5 bucks cheaper and im loving it. Nice and thin so doesnt add much bulk and has a 2 layer style like the commuter series. Definitely rrecomend it

I got the Blue Tech 21 case the day I got my G3 about 3-4 weeks ago and it's been great for me. Looks great, maybe a little slippery but not terrible for me. Has a good in the hand grip overall. This is my only case for it so I can't compare it with others. Slim and fits great in my pocket. The sides where the D3o is, is pretty solid. Can't even push the lip down. Phone is pretty snug in there so I don't think it would ever pop out unless you yourself take it out. The blue areas where I place it down on surfaces seem to turn dark/black. Doesn't bother me but just a heads up for you if you're looking into the color.
The only drop instance I had was from my pocket (about 3 feet) and it landed on it's back. Made a pretty loud smack on the tile floor. Phone was fine considering the main protection to me is on the sides where the orange D3o goo is. But I do feel if I were to drop it perfectly on its face with this case, or maybe back again, the screen would crack depending on strength of impact. That's just how I feel about most cases but I hope I don't jinx it in the future. But I baby my devices so I don't worry too much about it.
I will say this though. I have a UAG case on my Galaxy S3, which my Dad has now, and that thing accepted drops and beatings. Really hoping they make one for the G3.
I also have a Cailifu tempered glass protector and there isn't any problems with the two as of today. When I first put on the protector then put on the case shortly after, it just barely lifted the protector on the top left corner (may be due to the protector being more left of the screen). I left the case off for a few hours to let it adhere more. Been a week and they're both getting a long well, no lifting at all.
I'd say go for it if you really wanna try it out over the Otterbox.

I have one as well and I love the case! It's slim and it's not slippery.

I HAVE A TECH 21 with a zagg glass shield screen cover and its great !!

I have tech21 and a Cailifu tempered glass. Its awesome, very solid case not too bulky and the glass is amazing

I just got one through BestBuy.
It's rather slim in thickness.
The cutouts are accurate.
It's easy to put on and put off.
It is nice along with Zagg glass plate (it has a little gap and it's barely visible on left and right.

I liked the blue Tech21 case but got the black Insignia case because it was a little slimmer. Also got the Nillkin but it's more bulky then what I thought it would be.

Black Tech21 with ZAGG Glass here. Nice but I really wanted the Spigen GLAS t.R Nano Slim cinse the zagg has a wierd cutout for the front camera and proxi censor that I don't like.

Went and got a blue tech 21. The feel and texture is awesome. Wasn't interested before as I don't like black cases on white phones (they didn't have blue before). The blue and white look pretty good though.

Edit: apologises, read that as you wanted blue but didn't get it.

I purchased a Tech21 case when I got my G3. I don't really care for it. It adds too much to the overall size of the phone and the back is slicker than the battery cover is so I am returning it to T-Mobile since I am within the 14 day return period.

I used the tech21 and now I'm using the Fosmon Dura-Frost. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KNYOYC8/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_uU9-tb1W7M9CY
I like the Fosmon because it feels like the cruizerlite I'm used to. That being said, I'd probably rather have the tech 21 if it were actually dropped. Both cases fit perfect even with the tempered glass.

Just got mine today, black. Not sure I'm thrilled with it. It's thinner than the Tudia Dual. Doesn't feel as protective. It didn't "hug" the phone as well as I was hoping it would, the Tudia is a nice slim snug fit. Not much of a lip over the front of the phone screen. The silver bezel on the top/bottom of the phone is visible with it on.

There's something strange, something wrong on this case...

Just an update, I stopped using the Orzly Fusion case, even on the Bamboo the case is loose (or maybe because it's on the Bamboo and it's thicker so it's not hugging the phone properly).

Orzly Oneplus One case came in yesterday. Very satisfied and happy that it fits perfectly with the Bamboo Swapstyle cover. The buttons are tough as hell to press but it's not a deal breaker. Plus the shine effect the clear back gives to my OnePlus is a beauty.

Clench your phone, as if you're trying to compress the lips over your phone sides, you will feel like it has movement as if it really is loose.

I found the same thing. Fit is nowhere near as snug as I would have liked it to be, and I would have much preferred a bit more lip for screen protection.

I just received this too. It's an okay case.. NOT a fan of clear rears. But for 5 bucks not bad.

Iv had this for about 2 weeks. i love the case. I believe bigballa on the xda community has posted some really helpful pics. The fitting around the sides is perfect and access to all ports is spot on as well. Iv read some odd amazon reviews but i really cant fault this case. Shows the back of my phone nicely whilst offering great protection

Same here seems that it is realy thinn and not so protective. We will see after some drops (I hope It will not happen soon).
I remove all the plastic back part (with a dremel: Grinding and Cuting head) to preserve the sandstone back feel of the phone and to keep the weight down. Its is quite good, the case is still well in place, not so loosy. There is a litle loose in the midle of the long border. If I redo this operation I will keep a litle platic stripe between the midle of the long borders.
I will try to cut the back of an Diztronic case to compare the overall rigidity.

+ 9h nilkin tempered glass screen protector
I've had the clear version of this case for about a couple months and have dropped it several times. No damage, just some small chips on the edges of the nilkin tempered glass screen

I have the case about 5 days, but I send it back, there are some problems with it.
First the polycarbonat back scratches really easy and looks bad, second is the case not fits at the top and bottom, so there can enter a lot of dust.
I can not recommend this case

The back transparent easy to scratch. Demmittt.

I actually really love this case. It is much slimmer than the ringke fusion and actually maintains the shape of the opo with minimal bulk. Also, I made my own template (much like I did with the ringke fusion) So I can have custom backs.
The one downside is quality control though. When I got the case, one of the plastic protective sheets was positioned halfway down the back and there was a small scratch on the top right hand corner.
That said, this is still my favourite case.

Finally an Ultra Thin Case I love - Elago

So, I was looking for a new skin on my phone when I realized that I didn't want to do a wrap. If you're like me, you'll spend $10 and then remove the skin in like a week. After that you'll have to buy another one if you want to go through the process again. I'm not 100% into cases because of bulk and this is a damn sexy phone.
I scoured a few different places looking for a white thin case when I came across this: ELAGO THIN CASE
Here are my pros:
Fit is perfect
Cut outs are exact
This actually feels like it could be part of the phone
Has a Matte White look
Not TPU, its a hard plastic
Lots of compliments just in one day
Cons (Keep in mind, these are things people may not like but doesn't bother me)
Phone is still a little slippery
Buttons are now a bit more flush with the case
Zero lip over the glass to put upside down
The cut outs are exact so accessories are about 1mm from being perfect
I'm going back for the other two colors. This is an awesome case. Does anyone else have any ultra thin cases they can recommend.

It is kinda high, no promo that I'm aware of. This is more of a harder case then tpu, that's what I like about it.. kinda snaps on

Edit: Just went to the link. I just don't like AliExpress. I had problems with them in the past. 20-39 days for a case when I can get it in 2 days from Amazon, meh... I'll pay the difference.

Really? That's a bummer. Mine fits perfect and has no movement. I don't have any sort of skin. I wonder if that's throwing off the fit.

Needs a top and bottom lip. Put your phone face down and it will scratch.

Nope. User a screen protector.. Cases with lips exist. This is for absolute minimalists.

Just went to the mailbox to get the Elago case I ordered after seeing this thread. I'm coming from the Spigen Slim case and, even by comparison, the Elago is ridiculously thin! I love it, but it definitely needs to be paired with a screen protector in order to keep the phone somewhat safe.

It is probably not nearly as thin as that case, but I usually buy Ringke Fusion cases for every phone I get. I love the way it adds the extra tactile feel to the buttons, and has saved me from many drops even on asphalt and hard concrete. I'm not sure how it is on the S8+ yet as my S8+ is not here yet. but I've used Ringke Fusion cases on OP3T, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Xperia Z3, and I have loved it on every phone.

Not even close.

Just a heads up. The Elago scratches and scuffs pretty easily. Not that I expected much from such an inexpensive case but, I've been babying my black Elago and, within 24 hours it already has 4 or 5 long scuff marks across the back. Not a big deal, just thought I'd mention. It would've been nice if they had used the same type of rubberized finish found on the Spigen and Ringke slim cases.
