why didn't Samsung include eraser in the stylus? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This function is already built into Note and Note 2's wacom based screen, all they had to do was to include a eraser point on the other end of the stylus, I know it works because I use my Thinkpad x200t's stylus on the note all the time.

Why not press the button on the s pen. .. it becomes an eraser

So you could separately by the bigger pen with the eraser in it

You can use Wacom styli with GN2

Just a heads up, I've tested three Wacom Styli with my Sprint Galaxy Note 2 and each one works perfect. In fact the digitizer in the galaxy note has built in functionality for the eraser and 2 button stylus that Wacom uses on the Intuos2 tablets. You can find these on websites usually cheaper then the Samsung ones. All my tests have shown the other styli to be very accurate
Note that I've only tested a Wacom Intuos 2 and Lenovo Thinkpad X series with built in Wacom stylus, I don't have any 3rd party models to test.
Love the use of common technologies. :good::good:

News or not, it was useful information, not regarding a rom, nor asking a question. Hence the strategic placement of this thread in the general section. Nutsac.
THIS NOTE 2 IS SENT FROM A GALAXY WHERE SAMSUNG SPRINTS TO THE TOP, AND JELLY BEANS EAT APPLES!!!!
I have a Wacom on my desk... never would have thought to try it. Thanks for the heads up.

Strange, my Bamboo stylus doesn't work on MY N7105 Note II.
Cool - do any of the Wacom units have a button?

You do realize Samsung makes the processor in the iPhone right? So does that mean I can run android apps natively?
Just because they are the OEM doesn't mean they engineer it to be cross compatible.

Intuos 4 pen doesn't work..
My bamboo pen doesn't work... I've also noticed that the Note II S Pen works on the original Note, but the original Note S Pen doesn't work on the Note II.

Any pens with the "Wacom feel IT technology" should mostly work on this.

Even my Thinkpad X200 Tablet stylus works on the Note, and it's even better because the butt end works like a eraser. I don't when Samsung did not include eraser function into their stylus, obviously the function is already built into note and note 2 since both uses Wacom technology.
awesome I just ordered one off Amazon for 16 bucks

Note 2 spen works on the note 8 and the Ativ tablet.

Pen input pressure

Does your guys pen require more pressure to operate compared to the note 2? On my note 2 I barely had to touch the screen, but the note 3's pen requires much harder pressure before it starts working. I even tested the note 2's pen on the N3's screen and it worked just fine. So it's gotta be the pen. Does anyone else have this experience or is my pen defective?

Mine has this problem too. It was normal when I first got it, but now it requires more pressure to work. I think its normal, so I'm not going to bother exchanging it.
There's an option in settings to increase the sensitivity, see if that helps.

Try replacing the tip. The bag that comes with the device has two types of replacements. Clear and rubberized. Change be tip to a clear one. Worked for me!
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe on the Note 2 you could adjust the sensitivity on the pen itself somehow. I never needed to adjust anything so I'm not sure. I assume the note 3 would be the same way.
Edit: Yeah here's the thread on how to do it.

Please fix the link. I'd like to read it too. When I'm writing with the pen its fine, but if I'm doing something casually like playing Bloon TD 5, I find myself wanting a bit more sensitivity.

I think I've seen that somewhere else as well. It works, it's just that the plastic cover is so fragile, I almost cracked it in half trying to open it, so I didn't want to try it again.

This! That's the tool you use to remove the nib(tip of the S-Pen) so you can change it once/if it becomes worn. In that same bag you'll find the replacement nibs as well. Between launch of the Note 3 and the Note 4, I only changed my Note 3's once. Even though I use mine daily, I don't draw or write too much with mine, and I know some people do. So I'd imagine you'll need to change it more often than myself if you use your S-Pen a LOT.

S pen stylus compatibility

I want to know ...does s-pen stylus of note 3 work with full compatibility in note 4 and if so i could buy note 3 stylus for my note 4.
If there is no compatibility how to differentiate between 2 styluses?
Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
It works, but it won't fit in the S-Pen area in the phone. Each S-Pen has a different length, but I have used the note 3, note pro, and note 10.1 S-Pen and they work fine on the note 4.

Did you lose or break your Note 4 S Pen? You can get a new one cheap (or expensive if you're not careful) on Amazon.

So the note 3 stylus doesn't fit in note 4 hole.
I should try to fit the stylus before i buy new one.

Functionality, there is no difference, but only the note 4 pens fit in the note 4. All pens still have air command, use the same software as installed in the note 4, just the older pens (note 2, 10.1) are not as spot on as the note 3, pro, and 4 pens

Not as far as I know. There's one for about $24, one for $9 and one for $5, and they all claim to be Samsung original replacements. I have no idea if they are what they claim.
