Just a heads up, I've tested three Wacom Styli with my Sprint Galaxy Note 2 and each one works perfect. In fact the digitizer in the galaxy note has built in functionality for the eraser and 2 button stylus that Wacom uses on the Intuos2 tablets. You can find these on websites usually cheaper then the Samsung ones. All my tests have shown the other styli to be very accurate
Note that I've only tested a Wacom Intuos 2 and Lenovo Thinkpad X series with built in Wacom stylus, I don't have any 3rd party models to test.
Love the use of common technologies. :good::good:

News or not, it was useful information, not regarding a rom, nor asking a question. Hence the strategic placement of this thread in the general section. Nutsac.
THIS NOTE 2 IS SENT FROM A GALAXY WHERE SAMSUNG SPRINTS TO THE TOP, AND JELLY BEANS EAT APPLES!!!!
I have a Wacom on my desk... never would have thought to try it. Thanks for the heads up.

Strange, my Bamboo stylus doesn't work on MY N7105 Note II.
Cool - do any of the Wacom units have a button?
what is wacom?

I think you typed your google search into the reply box by accident. I kid...
Wacom is a company that makes drawing devices for various artistic professionals.

You do realize Samsung makes the processor in the iPhone right? So does that mean I can run android apps natively?
Just because they are the OEM doesn't mean they engineer it to be cross compatible.

Intuos 4 pen doesn't work..
My bamboo pen doesn't work... I've also noticed that the Note II S Pen works on the original Note, but the original Note S Pen doesn't work on the Note II.

Any pens with the "Wacom feel IT technology" should mostly work on this.

Does the Note's S Pen work with the Galaxy S3?
Nope, s-pen is an active digitizer. There isn't the same tech/hardware in the g3 as there is in the note
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Go on eBay and search Galaxy S3 stylist, and you can get one that works for the S3. The price range is $. 99 to $29.99. They have some almost identical to the Notes S pen, for one just like that you are looking at around $29.99

There is nothing for the S3 that will be comparable to the S-pen on the note. The C-pen is decent, but it's not going to be as precise, or responsive as the S-pen.

Is the c pen more accurate than one of those ball tipped sylus pens? I have one of those and it writes very broad lines

The c pen is definitely more accurate than the ball stylus pens due to the slim tip so you can actually see where you are writing. The only problem with the c pen is that it will occasionally not register as touching the screen.
I bought one because I take a lot of notes using S memo and I had an extra $20 bucks laying around lol. So if you can spare the cash I would reccomend it over the ball stylus pens but just know that it will only work for the s 3
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Either that or i'd just get an Adonit Jot stylus....
I just use one of the ones that have a rubber ball at the end.
C-pen didn't work out for me, because it's design a little bit fat. I guess, that's the only way to have stylus is to buy Galaxy Note Series . And also they have wacom grid, which can sense pressure.
good info

C pen is so expensive. How little are you really gonna be clicking? S3 doesn't have the special touch screen built in like the note so the pen gets bigger or smaller from how hard you press anyway. Any cheap stylus will work great. I got a laser, flashlight, chrome pen, and stylus in one for like 6 bucks at Monoprice. Works better than I dreamed.

lol oh man almost a year later, but here it is http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=112&cp_id=11201&cs_id=1120105&p_id=9719&seq=1&format=2
At least now I can give a mini review. It works great as a pen and I use it whenever I have to sign something. Stylus tip still works fine and always has no problem with responsiveness. Only thing that sucks is the flashlight and laser died fast. It's all chrome and black so it still looks nice, but I have no idea how to put a new battery in. I even called and asked them, but how they said to do it was still impossible.
Is the note 2 going to support wireless charging? I've been wondering this since the SIII has it...
If the S3 has it the note 2 certainly has it too.

That's what I though but why didn't they mention it at the keynote? Maybe it's going to be an alternative accessory battery cover?

Could be. Looking at the back of my note 2 with the back cover off there are a some unused contacts. The top two are for the NFS thing on the back cover but the bottom two don't line up with anything.
Hey gang, this may be a dumb question but I was wondering if I buy a stylus pen would it work for the GS3? the thing is that I wanted to get the GN2 but not enough money. I draw a lot and saw the capabilities of having this feature on the GN2 so I was wondering if I get a pen would it work for the GS3.
Have you googled it? I'm sure if it is capable it will be searchable.

Any stylus pen will work. You can buy them for about a couple of bucks from amazon.
Better yet Samsung make special pen just for galaxy s3 called "C pen". It has smaller tip like S-pen for G-note. It's $30 but if you register with Samsung, they will send you 50% off coupon.. But you can get from amazon too for $15.. Here is the search result link. Also Samsung link...

+1. Its not ideal unless the app you are using support fine line pen width like in sketch app.. But I still use stylus to keep my screen clean because I work with oil..

Thanks everybody. I even tried to take my GS3 back after a month to trade with the GN2 but no can do. I will try out the C-Pen and hopefully that'll work.
Its just that I draw a lot and especially in my anatomy class. I use those pictures to study while I'm at work. I wish I got the GN2. I got the GS3 because it was on sale, dang it. But I still love my GS3. Best phone for me coming off the Thunderbolt.
You should read some of the reviews on YouTube and Amazon before you plunk money into it. The general consensus is that it isn't very good especially for the price paid.

Even my Thinkpad X200 Tablet stylus works on the Note, and it's even better because the butt end works like a eraser. I don't when Samsung did not include eraser function into their stylus, obviously the function is already built into note and note 2 since both uses Wacom technology.

Note 2 spen works on the note 8 and the Ativ tablet.
Does your guys pen require more pressure to operate compared to the note 2? On my note 2 I barely had to touch the screen, but the note 3's pen requires much harder pressure before it starts working. I even tested the note 2's pen on the N3's screen and it worked just fine. So it's gotta be the pen. Does anyone else have this experience or is my pen defective?

Mine has this problem too. It was normal when I first got it, but now it requires more pressure to work. I think its normal, so I'm not going to bother exchanging it.
There's an option in settings to increase the sensitivity, see if that helps.

Try replacing the tip. The bag that comes with the device has two types of replacements. Clear and rubberized. Change be tip to a clear one. Worked for me!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe on the Note 2 you could adjust the sensitivity on the pen itself somehow. I never needed to adjust anything so I'm not sure. I assume the note 3 would be the same way.
Edit: Yeah here's the thread on how to do it.

Please fix the link. I'd like to read it too. When I'm writing with the pen its fine, but if I'm doing something casually like playing Bloon TD 5, I find myself wanting a bit more sensitivity.

I think I've seen that somewhere else as well. It works, it's just that the plastic cover is so fragile, I almost cracked it in half trying to open it, so I didn't want to try it again.
