not registerd on network - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I have a blacklisted phone from the states. I bought it on craigslist it worked with his sim when I bought it. after I bought it days later the old owner black listed it. I have since moved to costa rica. so I am now on kobie. the phone has had many in different roms in it. it is unlocked and rooted. with a know good sim. ( one that works fine in my att note 2) I get internet but no calls. What could be wrong? I have returned it to a stock rom that is rooted. the imei is the same as on the sticker.

anyone? I really need this phone

Is WiFi calling turned on? If so turn it off and see if that helps.

That's odd. Usually it's data that doesn't work. Maybe try a factory reset and Odin flashing the Stock firmware?

tried every thing. still not registering. data fine. no voice

Go to "System Settings" then "Wireless & Networks" then "More..." then"Mobile Networks" then "Network Operators", it will search then display all available networks, choose your provider or "Choose Automatically", it should then display "Registered on Network" toast notification. If it does not you might need to call your provider and get help from them. Kolbi might have ties with T-Mobile and it is blacklisted with them as well.

sim card will not register

I traded a note for a t999 last night, but I was unable to immediately check phone connectivity due to not having a micro sim handy. So today I get a micro sim and call my provider, (simple mobile), and they change my sim number for me.
My card will not register with the network. i get bars that show signal, but phone information shows no service. I have no data even with the corrrect APN. Simple Mobile Tech support says they have registered the SIM but it does not show as connecting.
I went to tmobile and they used one of their sims on the phone, but again, no registration.
The phone is rooted, I can boot it into CWM.
Im thinking that the prior owner messed something up, possibly by changing a radio/modem or something. Im not sure I can even warranty repair it via Samsung because he rooted it.
Does anyone have any suggestions? PLEASE?
Odin back to stock?

Sounds like you have a broken pin in your sim slot. I'd bet money on it. I think there's suppose to be 6 and if 1 breaks this is what happens.

i tried flashing back to stock using Odin, but it makes no difference. flash count shows 2. Does this mean the phone is not covered under samsung warranty?
You can reset the flash counter. I believe the thread is in android development on how to do this.

No service

My girlfriend bought a gs4 recently and it was working fine till today. She lost T-Mobile service. There is no signal it just says unable to connect. WiFi works fine but it won't connect to T-Mobile network for some reason. So she can't make calls or text. We reset it a few times, took the SIM card out and put it in my phone. And her SIM works on my phone. So it's the gs4, we tried doing almost everything
Anyone else have this issue?

try going to a t mobile corporate store near you and tell them that you would like to exchange your S4. or try calling them (dial 611 from your t mobile phone)

make sure that the phone is not in "airplane mode".
When you pull down the nofication screen slide the
toggles left and right til you see "airplane mode"
and be sure it's not lit up.
Good luck!
She said she took it to tmobile but they said they can't fix it and can't do nothing about it. As for airplane mode it's not in it. It's weird it would automatically turn of the enable data connection when check it on and try to connect to tmobile network it can't connect and it uncheck the box automatically

LTE bug

Hi I seem to have a problem getting LTE. I'm using a galaxy s3 i747m on Fido and I'm using stock Rogers ROM. I have a problem with LTE. I used to get it everywhere most of the time but it now only works once in a while. When I do finally get LTE it only works 30% of the time. I have full signal LTE but it doesn't load any webpages or anything. Once and a while it does though. I have tried bootloaders, modems, different Roms and I can seem to solve this problem. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks. I need my stable LTE back.

By modems do you mean basebands?
Have you look into your Access Point settings and preferred network type?
Yes by modems I mean basebands. My network type is LTE,3g, 2g. My APN is right. I can get LTE but when I do nothing loads at all. I have tried different Roms, different modems, different kernels and nothing seems to work. I did have LTE that worked before though.

When did it stop working? Do you remember what was done to the phone?
If nothing particular was done before that happened, you might wanna give Fido a call so they can check your connectivity and perhaps get a new sim card.
Well it stopped once flashed aokp ROM. I have a cut some card so that could be the cause unfortunately. I'll try a new simcard and see if that fixes it. I might also try flashing back to complete stock but I'm not too sure if that would help at all. I remember having LTE as soon as I turned it on and now it never turns on.
Thanks for the info!

You can backup your stuff, fully wipe and go on from there. Worth giving it a shot before changing your sim card.
I actually swapped the Sim card and that didn't seem to work. I'm just going to go back to complete stock and see if that works.

I went back to stock and I still can't get let. Do you think it would be a good idea to change my flash counter back to zero? Nothing seems to be work and I know my phone doesn't have a problem. It has to have something to do with what I'm flashing. Any other ideas?

+1 I'm on rogers I'm having the same problem :/ maybe its carrier related. I flashed the 4.4.2 rom then odined back to stock, thats when it started. IMEI seems intact aswell. Modem is good. Any ideas?

I have literally tried everything lol. I think it has something to do with our phones picking up the wrong signal. I live in Mississauga Ontario and I get LTE in the middle of the city but it doesn't connect at all. All it does is take forever to load a page and times out.

So I fixed the issue. I added another APN to my settings. So I have two ltemobile.apn for fido. I turned off the phone removed the sim. Turned the phone back on without the sim and entered service mode *#2263# and I put it to LTE all in the settings. I then turned the phone off and turned it back on with the sim and lte is working and my speeds are back. After that was all done I entered back to service mode *#2263# and put the network back to automatic all and now the phone automatically connects to LTE when I want it to.

Stuck on searching for network?

Tmobile user here, no matter if I am on WiFi or LTE the phone randomly gets stuck on searching for network and nothing will function. Any thoughts?
do a factory reset
Could be a bad SIM too
I have this problem with the ATT version. It won't take the apn that came with the phone. It searches for network for a while and then when it finds it, there is still no data.

Try this. In Settings>More>Mobile Networks, set it to CDMA or GSM only.
So just don't use the setting that has LTE in it.

No Data on ZE551ML

Okay, So I just received my Zen 2 about a week ago, It's rooted and BL unlocked and running stock .22 with nothing removed, I can make and receive calls and all in all everything working great, but it seems that no matter what I try I cannot seem to get any data, I have tried everything I know how to do and can never get a reading for data network, I have tried doing the network select thing to no avail, have driven all over town and nothing, I have never before been able to receive and make calls but unable to get a data connection, so I am looking for suggestions, I haven't gone to any other cities, but have used data here with other phones. Thanks
It may be asking the obvious but you do have your sim in sim 1 and not sim 2?

SIM 1
Have you checked that the APN for your telco is all correct?
Sent from my ASUS_Z00ADA using Tapatalk
Have not but wouldn't that also effect calls if wrong?
I looked up the APN and entered the details and it did in fact correct my data connection, Thanks for the help
