Hey guys,
Bought an ARC S for my wife and just 5 minutes after I turned it on I encountered problems with wifi.
So as I turned on the phone and tried to connect to my home´s network it would´t find my router, goggled it and found out that this is a common problem with ARC and ARC S´s as it does´t support wifi channels higher then 11. Changed my router´s configuration from auto channel to channel 11 and the phone connect but now my network from time to time drops connection.
Is there any work around or fix so that the phone supports wifi channels higher then 11 ?
Thk´s
Have you try another channel than 11?
If you live in a flat sometimes you and your neighboor are on the same channel and the wifi can be bad.
Try wifi analyser on the market to check wich channel is free around you.

Thanks for replying Soad0
I checked with wifi analyser and ch11 seems to be ok to use. I have been searching around and it seems that the problem is that the phone's internal wifi seetings are set to 11 ch's (US) instead of 13 which is what is used in Europe
If any one knows how to change does settings I would apretiat the help.
Here in France with the provider Free I can set up my internet modem to the channel I want. So I set it up to channel 3 and it is ok with my Arc
Hi all.
So this may be a silly question but I've had a search around and can't seem to find anything similar to my query.
For me, the WiFi signal on all jelly bean roms is considerably weaker than what I get on ICS roms for GB, regardless of the kernel or radio. I am wondering if this is just me or do others experience this too? I there any fix or solution that I've missed?
Any help much appreciated Long live the mighty XDA.

i noticed that too but the only thing you can do is play with your WiFi channel on the router end; use WiFi analyzer from market and walk around your place to see which channel is the best without too much interference from neighbouring signal, then change your WiFi router channel to suit and remember the chosen WiFi channel uses 3 channels at once with the center channel being the one connected to (i.e if your router runs at channel 6, it will also use up a bit of 5 and 7) so choose the clearest channel without too much overlap.
additionally if you have land line wireless phones operating on the 2.4Ghz range, it can interfere as common WiFi routers runs in the 2.4ghz unless you have a 5GHz setup.
Have you unchecked Settings - Wifi - Advanced - Avoid poor connections?

Yeah, I have. It's not a huge problem, just a bit annoying.
Can't connect to my new router's 5 GHz band. It's an Asus RT-N66U. The SSID is visible, but signing in doesn't connect. 2.4 channel works fine, although not that fast. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Resolved - switched to a lower channel.

I used inSSIDer to find the best channel, and I unchecked "avoid poor connections" and "use wifi optimization" in my phone's advanced settings. Also, I found the suggestion that solved my particular problem at smallnetbuilder.com, which has absurdly knowledgeable members who write some great stuff. For example, this article is about competing for bandwidth, which is a concern of mine because I live in an apartment building.
Here is the forum dedicated to the RT-AC66U.
I don't have the settings on my phone, are you using a third party app or Is it built into your rom

Built in. CM10.1.
I am using D-Link 2750U ADSL router, the issue I am facing is quite weird. My Phone, Laptop, Nexus 7 Tab can see Wi-Fi Network in range but Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (10.1) cannot see Wi-Fi network. I tried connecting it manually by providing SSID, it says Network not in range. Interestingly, Samsung tab connects to Wi-Fi network in my office without any issues. So I am clueless as to where the problem is – is it with Router or Tab? Can someone help please

crash your router, try again
access your router, check your settings, history
try unsecuring your wifi, seemif it picks up, then resecure
tab does 80211 abgn, check you're setmfor wpa2-passkey
in your tab if always scan is enabled, toggle it
check system/etc/wifi/nvram* - if present
it's most likely the router and the tab.
Issue resolved (hopefully) by setting channel to fixed number rather than using auto option in router wifi settings.
Interesting aspect is my phone, which is also samsung (s4) and laptop had no issues.
@heeemz
channel!, Uhhh, weird,
My best guess is that you have a router with Full open channels like for Europe or Japan and that the TAB3 is an American version. So as American Wifi is not allowed to transmit on EU/Japan extended frequencies?

This looks like best possibility...
Sent from my GT-P5210 using XDA Free mobile app
I have ATT 7 inch and it has similar issues on my home wifi... also a dlink router... I have 3 cellphones, wifi tv and 2 other tablets on the wifi and no issues.
I will check my channels.
Hi,
I changed my router's wireless channel to 12 because below that would interfere with the signal of my neighbors' WiFis.
However now my Samsung Tab 3 7'' T110 doesn't "see" my WiFi. Same happens when on channel 13. My computer and my smartphone (a Xperia Mini) have no problem detecting channels 12 and 13 so it must be something with the tablet.
From what I understand, these are European channels and that's were I live.
How can I enable/activate these channels on the tablet?

It depends on WiFi card in tablet. My Tab 3 7inch(T211) has no problems with those channels
Thanks for the reply but that doesn't make much sense to me. How come a Samsung tablet from 2014 can't detect those channels? To me it seems like a configuration somewhere, like with the driver configuration of wireless boards in Windows. There you can choose in what channels the board operates.
Maybe something in the build.prop?
