I was suppose to open a topic with this kind of query. Did you by the way know how to create a system dump using Terminal Emulator?

For our device boot partition is /dev/block/mmcblk0p7... To knw abt more partitions use root Explorer and chk in this path /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name
To take system dump run these command...
su
tar -c /system/* >> /sdcard/system.tar
Wait for some mins to finiah the process..:thumbup:

How's the v20n of F180K? Is it 4.2.2 already or still 4.1? Some people says that the new version has already updated to 4.2 but I doubt? Can you confirm this?

no, not really, because Nandroid backs up the /system and /data partitions on filesystem basis, but Odin requires raw partition images.
It can be done by some ADB shell command or by writing a CMW zip by dd-ing the boot, system, data and cache partitions, and tar-ing it into proper format.
Busybox and root required...

If I understand well, Your friend's mobile is on stock ROM, and/or updated via KIES.
Then query the following data from your friend's mobile:
From dialer *#1234# current software versions, and PCODE from *2767*4387264636# !
If these are ok, then you can check the firmware available for download at
http://fus.nanzen.se. if yes, You can make your own pack by SplitFUS2 (in my sig)
If got any difficulties, post the info (SW ver and PCODE) here, and we'll help...!

- cygwin not required for this
- adb and terminal emulator is not preferably, because when you have ADB access, then your Androd is currently running, and there are a lot of open processes, files etc.
- most preferred way is to write a recovery script to dd and tar the required images.
If I had more time I would write it... maybe one day... ;-)

[GUIDE] How to extract system files from stock firmware

Ok, so I know many users are looking forward to create a custom rom. Where are you gonna get the system files from? Sure you can get it from a CWM backup. You can also extract the system files and the respective kernel from PDA.tar. Sure everyone knows it's in there but very few exactly know how to extract them. The system files are in the file "system.img".
So the 1st step is to open the PDA.tar using 7-zip and extract the system.img to a particular folder.
Download sgs2toext4.jar from attachment. It's a .jar file created by dphrozen to convert .img files to .ext4.img. Place that file anywhere in C:\ and then open the Command Prompt. In the command prompt, set the directory to the folder where sgs2toext4.jar is placed. Then type this command :-
Code:
java -jar sgs2toext4.jar
A window will open which is gonna ask you to drop the .img file in it. Simply drag the system.img to the window and the process of converting it to system.ext4.img will start. After the process is complete, you'll find system.ext4.img file in the same folder where your system.img file was placed.
Now, download Linux Reader. Install and then open it. At top left, go to Drives -> Mount Image. A window will open up. Browse to system.ext4.img and select it.
That's it! Now you can view all the system files. Export all of them to a particular folder. After exporting, you'll see an extension .efs.ntfs at the end of each file. Just delete that extension and you're good to go!

theoritically, yes. the image file is written on rfs filesystem. sadly, this rfs is different with linux's rfs. samsung developed their own filesytem and use it on their own device. this filesystem is closed one and never used by anyone/anything outside samsung.
It damn worked

Thanks mate.
I don't understand step #5. What does it mean "copy the boot.img in the folder that you prefer"?
1- Go into Recover (CWM) and Mount USB
2- Now From your PC create a folder in the root of the storage and call it "clockworkmod"
3- In the "clockworkmod" folder create another folder named "backup"
4- Extract the .zip file in that folder (do not change the name of the folder extracted cause it could give md5sum problems)(also the folder name must not have any space between words)
5- Before continuing on the phone, open that folder from the pc and copy the boot.img in the folder that you prefer
6- Reboot phone into Fastboot mode and flash the boot.img by typing
Code:
fastboot flash boot path/to/boot.img
7- Reboot the phone into Recovery again
8- Go to Backup & Restore> restore> and here choose the folder previously extracted, and that's it

That means to copy it in a folder from which you will perform step 6. To make your life easier, I usually copy it in the same folder where I keep fastboot and adb files.

Which nandroid you have?
4.1.1?
If so, then yes, repeat the procedure once again with your bakup to return to Jelly Bean.
One more thing, make sure that the nandroid you download is named with date and time (something like "2013-01-28.08.49.48"), otherwise you will face md5 issue. There is a solution for that, too, but I don't know if you would do it.

It looks alright. You have your cache, data, and system partitions in it.
And, I was right - you will get MD5 mismatch, for sure! So, you will have to follow the instruction that I indicated before.
If it doesn't work, or you are having problems, keep your current boot.img handy, and give it a try. You can always revert to your previous state.

Less possibility for error.
You can place both boot.img files to this folder, only name them in a way you can recognize them in future (boot_my.img and boot_old.img, for example).
I would also check if nandroid.md5 is the same as the one in parent folder. But, anyhow, you will have to adjust your md5, I'm sure of it.

1. Patch adbd by using adbd insecure. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687590

Well, ADB insecure is not really needed. If you have init.d support (if not, see http://www.xda-developers.com/android/init-d-support-for-any-rooted-phone/) you just have to :
I ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISKS. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU MAY CAUSE TO YOUR PHONE (but I can help you repair it )
MAKE A FULL BACKUP BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER
Your phone has to be rooted.
I made a flashable zip
It comes with init.d support.
This one come with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190758 2ndInit.
For now 2ndInit is for dev only. Don't try anything foolish.
0 - download the attached zip
1 - push the XT320_bootmenu.zip on your sdcard
Code:
> adb push XT320_bootmenu.zip /sdcard/XT320_bootmenu.zip
2 - Reboot with a CWM... (recovery.img attached)
Code:
>adb reboot bootloader
> fastboot boot recovery.img
3 - Flash XT320_bootmenu.zip thorough CWM
4 - Reboot and enjoy !
What I did (if you are interested):
In /system/bootmenu/script/pre_bootmenu.sh, I replace (line 9)
PART_CACHE=/dev/block/mtdblock10 by PART_CACHE=/dev/block/mtdblock9
and (line 64)
button-backlight by keyboard-backlight (this is not a major issue, I think but it is still raising errors)
same in stock.sh (line 24)
button-backlight by keyboard-backlight

So what you have to do if it is not working, is to check which block correspond to which partition and then adapt the values.
In shell:
Code:
$mount
Check if init.d support is working:
In shell:[/COLOR][/B]
Code:
$cat /data/Test.log
You should be careful before trying 2ndInit and 2ndBoot functionality of bootmenu. They are NOT viable.

But with the small /system partition it seems impossible to have a fully deodexed ROM. Maybe a few apps...

This one doesn't use logwrapper, it uses 97bootmenu to hijack the boot process. The Moto Fire XT 530 has a MSM7227T-1 chipset.

Then I am interested ! I will have a closer look. You tried it already ?

I just get the apk. Installation seems successful. However, no led is going blue on boot to let me enter bootmenu (V2.3)
I tried V1.4.2, but it was more like if I reset my phone. Still no bootmenu. [EDIT] : I think it just cleared my /etc partition (at least), that's why it messed up. [EDIT2] Or maybe it was working ? I am not sure about how to check if it was.
If the trick were explained somewhere, I could have a closer look...
[EDIT3]
Well I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026853 which shall be the same thing as the apk, but no success.
It seems that this method replaces /system/bin/mount_ext3.sh by an other one. But this file does not exist in the in the stock version of my ROM. So I guess the trick cannot work. Or I don't understood how it works.

Use adbd insecure.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687590
Patch adbd to run as root.
Then use the Batch installer. The last time I did it, it installed, but it was about to boot into bootmenu, then it exited. Make use the Fire XT 2nd-Init. Not the Defy One.

Here is 2nd-boot for fire xt:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190758
You must have 2ndinit CWM for it to work.
If FireXT CWM works on our phone then 2nd-Init/2nd-boot should work on our phone.
The one you download doesn't include 2nd-boot

The bootmenu doesn't seem to work for me. I check the mtdblocks and it matches yours. I have busybox installed, init.d support. The blue led loads up after the bootloader, but when it tries to boot into bootmenu, it exits.

You forgot to "su" before "exec"
If you are not root when executing 97bootmenu, it will not work.

LG Docomo Disney DM01G THREAD

Hello
I recently got my hand on a device which is specific to Japan which is called LG Disney by Docomo. Find about it HERE
I am interested to help people around to see what can be done with this device. I do not own it personally so I can not do much.
Here is the opensource for the device.
http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=Dm01G
I have also made a complete dump of the system and will see if someone is interested in version LGDM01G10B
I am looking for the latest LGDM01G10E system dump or something that can be used to extract the dump or used to make a KDZ file.
Dump updated for users.
Update about how to flash it coming soon.
Check here for DUMP

This is for some other tab so make sure change the directory accorrdingly
Extract and place it onto your sd card!. Make sure all files are under /sdcard/* directory. Boot into the recovery, go to wipe -> advanced wipe -> wipe everything except sd card and internal storage. In recovery, go to advanced, then terminal. Folders should pop on the screen but do not go to any different directory, just press select. Now you should be in the terminal. Now, I'm really sorry but it will take some time, you have to enter each of this commands separately into the terminal:
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/factory.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/factory
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/laf.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/rpm.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/rpm
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/sbl1.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/sbl1
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/sdi.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/sdi
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/bootloader/tz.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/tz
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/boot.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/cust.bin of=dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cust
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/modem.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/persist.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/persist
dd if=/sdcard/V40010C/system.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system
Remember only system is an img file! It is about 2,5GB so to flash it will take about 5-10 min.
Once you flashed everything you can reboot, in my case it said that OS is not installed but the recovery didn't know yet that we just flashed it. So just swipe to reboot and tablet should boot up with 4.4.2 !
