I'm getting the nexus 7 next week, but with all the talks of problems, where should I buy? If Google does find hardware issues in the next couple of months I want to make sure they stand behind their product. Is the play store the best place to purchase, or is Best Buy fine?

I recently bought my N7 at Best Buy this past Thursday , and I have to say so far so good ,No problems here.

Well
Google play is better than best buy, and lots of users complained to have hardware issues like stuck pixels in nexus 7 bought in bb
No problems with mine from Best Buy either.
Google Play store.
Got mine about 3 weeks ago from best buy. No issues here, I'd recommend buying it from a local store. In case you do get a defective device, you can easily exchange it for a new one instead of waiting on returning and shipping.

I got mine at office max, 32gb WiFi with 20% discount. Great deal. Any way you go should be fine I would of ordered it but I couldn't wait. As far as issues go some people are just picky or there are lemons out there. I have light screen bleed but it doesn't bother me and I don't wanna go through the RMA process. Good luck with your choice its a good one.

Best buy here. Haven't had any issues. My roommate also got his at best buy.
got mine at best buy (With the added warranty) no issues with it.
Bought mine at Gamestop with no hardware problems.

Yes no problem with September model... go for it.
mine is good too. no dead pixels... bought in Europe the 9th sept. 2013
I bought mine at Office Depot which I would normally not recommend, but they have a pretty cheap warranty ( $50 for 2 years ) no questions asked. You do have to mail it in, and they mail you a gift card though.

I know the new nexus is out but I want a Samsung made phone. I assumed that google would continue selling these with a lower cost but they did not. I don't want to pay $300 for a galaxy nexus because I could get a nexus 4 for that. Do you think the galaxy nexus price will drop?

You gotta put this in Q&A.
Since I'm already here.
I got my gnex a month ago on eBay for 182.00$.
If was posted as rooted and a couple people bid on it so I had to wait it out two hours and last second bid.
I have it and its mint. No scratches. Super clean!!!.
At the moment people are going to be cheap. They are going to jack up the price so they get a N4 for free.
Try to wait a couple months or Craigslist and eBay it. But just some advice , the cheap ones will be in horrible used condition.

If you are signing up for a contract, Amazon has them for 1 cent.
I'm trying to avoid contracts.

So buying a new GNex for 306 euros is it much? I find it pretty cheap in Greece. In Slovenia this sucker costs 590€

That's like $400. Considering I was willing to let mine go for $250 I'd consider that a rip off but I have no clue how different the markets are.

It was only 6 days old and in excellent condition.

I bought my brand new white Gnex for 290€ in Poland. They are still available in here, in opposite to n4.
I think it is a good price. Considering S3 costs 669€ and imported not from Samsung Hellas about 450-500€.
Yes I know US is more privileged but this how market works around the globe.

How do warranty issues get handled? All my previous nexus devices have been from the play store. If bought from Walmart or best buy, are warranty issues handled any differently? Usually I called Google support directly for replacements.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Google takes care of their own customers.
Anyone else deals with ASUS directly.. A fairly unpleasant thing from what I've heard.
If you buy from Walmart, however, they sell a 2 year drop and spill warranty for $28 (with purchase) that's eerily similar to Square Trade.

I'll have to check on that damage warranty, reason I'm in the marker for a new one. Have to check on cost of square trade too in order to compare price, because I'm thinking it would be much easier to deal with Google on non damage related warranty issues.

For the first year, for manufacturing defects, yes. After that, IDK.
Bad part, and a personal example: after 3 months mine developed a bad charge cord.
Google wanted me to send everything back, including the perfectly functioning tablet, just to replace the defective cord.
They were incredibly nice, but their policy is incredibly dumb.
Square Trade is $59.99
Just checked yesterday.
ST and WallyWorld guarantee 3 day turnaround.
ASUS makes no claims whatsoever.
Seems square trade does it by 3 yr, and it's 74.

Wow I don't know but I regret purchasing it from a third party now.I actually thought google still had involvement in rma claims or the like.
Best Buy has their own warranty service. It costs about $99. You can get a new device anytime and free repairs.

Man I'm glad I turned down Best Buy's extremely overpriced coverage. I used my Discover card and same thing, it extends mfr. warranties by a year on all warranties of 36 months or less.
Damn wish I knew Walmarts plan was so cheap.
A 32gb plus 2 year square trade is $330, at Walmart this would be $300.
But insurance is for suckers anyway right?
And I just looked it up, the CC (Chase freedom MC) I bought my tablet with offers extended warranty coverage as well. Just saved me $60! But that doesn't cover accidental., I'll just be careful.

I go the email a little less than an hour ago. The email does state "Customers who have purchased our original version of SlimLine for Google Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen will be shipped automatically a FREE of charge replacement of our improved final version of SlimLine for Google Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen, without needing to contact us." I have to assume that means anyone who purchased it no matter where you are.
I understand that, but seeing that you received such a mail and I didn't, makes me think they might not be doing the same with international orders. Maybe, I should wait for some time, for the mail to arrive.

I received the same e-mail this morning from Smart Shop Online through Amazon. The e-mail subject was "Feedback request from Amazon seller Smart Shop Online". I ordered mine from Amazon on August 12th through Smart Shop Online.
I think that these improvements are all going to be great for the case. The original was okay, but with the improvements it should be much nicer and more polished. I am still unhappy with the general feel of the case (The leather especially feels inexpensive to me), but I am very happy with Poetic in general for doing this for their customers. This is my first Poetic purchase, and I must say I'm very happy with them as a company!
I ordered mine when they first became available for pre-orders through amazon. I also haven't received an email.

I got mine from Amazon (sold by Smart Shop Online) around the 28th of August. No email about a replacement. Original order was Aug 18, out of stock, expected shipping Sept 3 or so, bit came early. No problems really except for the magnet "turn on" not working all the time, but if they want to send me a better one, I'll gladly accept.

What is a good price to buy a used Nexus 7 (2013)? Someone offered to sell me the 32 gb version for $200. He says it's like new condition. Is this a good deal? If I buy it new at the store with tax it would be about $290, so I'd save some money, but I'm a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to return it to the store if something goes wrong.

P.S. I have the 2012 version and think I can get maybe $120 for it.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
I got mine brand new on sale for $244 with tax. I'd say $200 for a like new used one isn't a bad price at all, and since its used you can check it out in detail before purchasing.

I got my 16GB 2013 brand new for $198 shipped from Amazon on sale. Keep your eyes open and you're sure to find a sweet deal eventually. Keep checking slickdeals too.
Well, I went ahead and did it. $200 for the 32 gb model. I'm in Canada and we don't have as good of sales here, the cheapest I saw it new was $250 + tax, so around $290 (it's usually $280 + tax). Seems to be in good condition so I'm pretty happy with the purchase so far. I even got a nice case with it, so that's a nice bonus. Anyways, consider this my introduction to the Nexus 7 (2013) sub-forum.
Now I just need to sell my old Nexus 7...
Just got a nexus 7 as one of my Christmas presents. There is a small black particle under the glass. Is this a common problem? I plan on taking it to Best Buy tomorrow. Anyone with first hand experience wanna tell me how their exchange went? Thanks.

Mine did too. Brought it back to best buy and had to open 3 in store before I found a perfect one. The manager was not happy with me, but I couldn't care less. Not about to walk out of the store with a defective product. In the end I got one with zero issues, including the touchscreen problems that people often complain about. Take it back, and do not settle for anything less than perfect.

Best buy is crap!! I'm done with them! I'm marked for returns even though I might buy one thing a year and return every other year. Horrible service and Geek squad is a joke!

I wonder what the issue rate is wifi vs mobile. They should have the same issues, because they come off the same assembly line with the exception of a few parts. But it's seems most the of the complaints come from the wifi users.
