Hi, I am new here so I apologise if I've posted in the wrong place.
I have looked through the forums, and there doesnt seem to be any help for alot of people who have asked the same question. Blank screen.
I had psx4droid running, had a bios selected, but when I tried loading a rom (ff7, which others have no issues running) I just had a black screen and nothing happened. Phone was still responsive, but nothing appeared.
Can anyone help an eager student to understand things a little more clearly.
Try a different rom, I had exactly the same issue with another game.
i have the same problem, with android 2.1 i could use psx4droid, but when i update to 2.2 psx4droid doesn't work anymore... i don't know how to fix the problem

a few roms wont work, idk why but they dont. try downloading different version of roms from different source and try them. maybe they will work?
If it's a .ecm file, you have to uncompress it. Search for an ecm decompiler.
Exact same issue. Roms were working smoothly on 2.1 but now they seem to crash the app everytime. I think we may just have to wait this one out
Phew, no 2.2 for me then. I play FF7 every day!
Hi, How is the sound for you guys. I am running on a samsung epic and the video is incredible smooth for a lot of games but the sound, while it isn't terrible it is no where near what I would describe as good. I'll just use the final fantasy as my example. Is there a specific format that is better for me to rip my games to like .iso, .bin .img to get better sound?
the sound is sometimes choppy and sometimes slightly garbled. They are still playable but if I can improve them it would be great.

Sound is choppy for me on my Samsung Galaxy i9000.
I wish he would code it so it uses Open GL rather than the software renderer, that way he'd get much better performance out of the graphics leaving the CPU to process the sound and other things.
Judging by his schedule, he's not that interested in optimizing the emu.
Only had the SGS for 2 weeks now.Came from Symbian phones.
So I tested all the emu's for them in the day,the picodrive, the Vampent SNES and GBA emu's etc.
So when I browsed the market and saw a psx emu I was amazed....sure come a long way to be able to run a psx emu on a mobile phone (of sorts).
Yeah, while not that many roms work and a bit slow with sound I think it sure is a big achievement to have a psx emu at all. Damn amazes me.
This phone (and the android OS) still suprises me.

PSX4Droid
Today I found the PSX4Droid and was trying to set it up. It tells me that I have to specify the BIOS file(s) before I can play any games can someone tell me what it or they are and where I can find them please.
Yeah, you need the the PSX bios file.
Ofcourse you should have your own from a disc you own D) otherwise google scph 1001 and you will find
(Hope its allowed to post this if not Mods please delete)
i would love for this to get a big update, as great as it is to have a psx emulator on my phone there is very few games that actually work and even less that work correctly.
i know this is new though so i have faith even though it did take years for it to be as good as it is on pc so it may not be in this generation on phones that we see great emulation (maybe 3.0 phones if were lucky)
Hey all,
Perhaps I should post this in the captivate forums being that I have one, but I will start my question here.
As far as the emulation goes, just about everything runs perfectly that I have tried other than Tekken 3.
My question is: has anyone found a way to swap disks (like FFVII requires) without having to use a psx emulator on your pc and changing the file names etc...?
psx4droid + Ginger xxkpe?
thats it. ill like to ask if any1 had luck booting a rom on Ace with that OS thx
soz if i sound nuubish, thats just cos i am
btw ill like to say hi in this my first post and thank the community for this awesome place
Hello guys, I got the Neo.
Still tweaking it as long as a non-rooted device allows but i have one really frustrating problem. Well, the Asphalt 5 runs smoothly and without problems and it's a real 3D game. However, neither the Nova, nor the Assassin Creed for example run. It starts and etc but there are many places on the screen lacking graphics, it's like not having the right nvidia/ati drivers and everything is "transparently black" The same situation is with the Gangster. Where the problem comes from and how can i fix it ...?

Actually no idea what is that and if Im using it
Add - I looked around and can firmly say that Im not using it, cause as i understood, it is an additional 3d party app that requires root and since my phone is fresh out of the oven I still cannot risk to root it without having a complete and only for the neo guide for doing it
@cooin
The rooting procedure for both phones should be the same. Only the firmware would be neo specific.
Downloaded an upgrade to Skype today, and included was a bunch of new devices, that got videocalling with the upgrade. Among others was the Iconia A500, but of course no A100. ARGHHH!!!
After a couple of weeks of owning the A100, I'm more than happy at the size and speed of this little tablet, but it's getting to be really tiresome, that most of the cool new games and apps I find in the Market aren't compatible with the A100
Even some TABLET APPS aren't compatible.
And this is just the apps openly state they aren't compatible. With some of them, you won't find out until you either open it, and a message tells you that your device isn't compatible, or it just plain crashes on you...
(To further the confusion, in some cases you can download a demo from Tegrazone, but when you try to buy the full game after happily playing the demo, Android Market tells you, that the game isn't compatible with your device.... WTF?!?!)
Who's fault is this exactly? Is it Google that messed up? The developers that are just plain lazy? Or is Acer somehow to blame?
(I noticed that most apps report my screen in the A100 as being 600*976 pixels. Is this somehow the problem for at least some of the uncompatible apps!?)
And more importantly, what can I as a user do? Shoot off some friendly emails to developers? Or can a root or somekind of hack help solve the problem?
Opinions, suggestions?
Video still isn't working on Skype for the A500, so you're not missing much!

Errr, yes it is (on A500/A501)! If you took 10 seconds to search you'll find in the skype parameters the possibility to turn on video (it isn't by default) and it works, I've just spent an hour on skype video, you can choose which camera you want to use, everything works perfectly. Sorry for being off topic but I just wanted to clarify what the person above me said...

Those options do not exist in HC 3.2 on the A500.
In mine stock 3.2 non root exist. Is in settings at the skype application. But you need the last skype update. I just finished a video conference right now and it worked great. Try again.
Alright, on 3.2 Rooted, but the rom that has all the bloatware and everything pretty much intact Skype does not do video calls or show ANY of the video options in the settings.
I reverted back to a backup of 3.1, and the app DOES do video call, and show the video call settings.
I don't know what your doing Kekinash, but you've got a magical tablet.
That's weird, my A501 on 3.01 stock rom with root is compatible with skype video calls.

This is both an opinion as well as a suggestion...
Be patient
Unfortunately the 7" and 8.9" sizes are 'new territory' for HC apps. Devs worked to get apps compatible with/to 10" screens and the associated resolutions that run on that size primarily for their tablet-only applications. In the same way devs for phone (1.5-2.3) apps have been working to make their apps scale up for tablet use, I'm sure HC-only app devs are working quickly to make their apps scale to smaller tablet screen sizes and those new resolutions. Even if the resolutions are already supported, afaik there's an issue in 3.2 causing them to crash when paired with 7" screens either way.
So when I say be patient, I mean hold out a bit longer and I'm sure things will be up to spec. On one hand you'll have the quicker devs fixing their apps to work well with smaller screens/different tablet resolutions and worse case scenario, you know it's all coming together anyway for ICS and at that point, everything SHOULD work.
Edit:
And friendly emails to devs let me tell you, do tend to get the job done. Especially when the app is popular. I use Getglue and was frustrated that it wasn't after quite a long time, not changed to be compatible with 3.0.1. I wrote a friendly email to the dev. asking for a Getglue for Tablets because I really loved the app and I sit with my tablet beside me more so than my phone now at home, etc. etc. and I got a response from my team saying that the app was unfortunately no longer compatible, but to use the mobile site. This was in July. Then roughly a few weeks or so later, voila! Fix'd. So it never hurts to let them know what's up.
most apps work in my stock A100
So far I have had no problems with the apps I use and have downloaded or even pay for. Skype now does video calls perfectly, the only app that was crashing a lot was a spell checker tha I did uninstall and replaced with an other one that has no problems.
Just checked, and the video options DID turn on in Skype.
Along with a little warning that it might not be supported, blah blah...
So I got to use the front camera for the first time today
Dunno if it's just me but it seems not all the apps I could/can see on my A500 appear on my A100. Same gmail account. For a while I couldn't find Facebook on the market.
Yeah, there would be a lot of apps for the A500 that aren't compatible with the A100 I can imagine.
Best way to check, is to go in to the www version of the market, then you can see all apps, no matter if theyre compatible or not. If you have several devices, the www market tells you which one of your devices an app is compatible with. I wish there was a similar feature in the market app.
BUT! On the bright side, I DID get around to rooting my A100... You think that might make a difference in regards to apps? Is there some kind of workaround available now that its rooted?
I just activated cam on my A100 and it is working fine.
?? Does Skype update automatically???

Skype works well
Acer Iconia Tac A100-- Skype Video works great.!
mine is working with no problems also.

my Wife has the Iconia Tab 7" and when she gets incompatibility issues, all I do is side load the app. example, American Express app says its not compatible with her device. I just copied it from one of my Android devices and Bluetooth it to her, she installs it and it works 100%
sometimes the market place is just wrong. when I want an app even though the market says NO, I find the .apk from somewhere and install it. on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Gameloft says their game Lets Golf 3 doesn't work....BS, Ive been playing this game for a month now with ZERO issues.
Just picked up my GNexus two days ago after upgrading from a hugely lag-tastic galaxy portal (spica to you US guys)
Loving it so far! got unlocked bootloader and root
the only issue I have is with the accelerometer in games...
when playing driving/flying games (need for speed/my paper plane etc) although the controls seem fine, there is a very noticable 'jittery-ness' with the visual aspects, for example the steering wheel in NFS.
is this likely to be a problem with the apps not supporting ICS or with my particular device? (either dodgy rom or hardware!)
if anyone can shed any light on the matter that would be great! I have another 11 days to return the phone to the store and swap it over for a new one, would rather not go through that if possible though!
so basically, to summarise, should I exchange my handset?
Hello. It's not a problem with your particular device. I have the same issue with NFS. I haven't tried other games.
You definitely can see it if you use "Google Sky Map". It ain't smooth
My neighbors G2x did this using Google Sky Map. His was all over the place while mine was jittery, but barely (within norm). Supposedly the kernel was causing it to go crazy. Later versions of CM7 seemed to stabilize it.
Mine is jittery too especially with sky map.... in older versions of android there was a calibration tool?

So am I having this problem... On Galaxy S II I'm able to calibration with an option in "display" sector but now I cannot find any clue...
Anybody any idea? I believe there is some way to fix it.
So does anyone know of a custom fix to this? Either through build.prop changes or maybe something we flash to our phones??

Still waiting for help...
Hi guys
When I try to share files to other apps on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S9 Exynos, running Android 9), it takes upto 7 seconds to actually show the apps I can share it with. This annoys the crap out of me... It is one of the functions I actually use the most om my device. Is anyone experiencing something similar? And is there a solution for that?
For instance, I can imagine I have installed a lot of apps and indexing them takes some time, so in that case, is it possible to pick a few apps I only want to share with, so the indexing takes less time? Or keep the apps in memory... As you can see... I'm a noob when it comes to the technical side of the software...
I've read something about android 10 and faster way to share... Anyone familiar with that?
Thanks in advance!

You're not the only one. I'm also experiencing the same issue of lag when I open a contact. Now it usually takes more than 5 sec to display the contact info.
I have both a S9 and S9+. My + is running the 10 beta the S9 is still on Android 9. Both have the same issue. Tried wiping catch, seamed to work for a bit.
