Morning all,
I would post this in the CM thread but as I have less than 10 posts I cannot. Visit the forums daily to get a catch up and I am very comfortable rooting / flashing my phone.
I recently purchased a new car and I had CM10.1 installed, I paired my Bluetooth with the car and it worked fine, I can access the phonebook and call logs, when I went to make a call, it either failed or if it did connect, I had very robotic voices on the other end, almost like the codec wasn't right? Wiped phone, flashed stock 4.1.2 TW and Bluetooth worked fine, could make and receive calls with no issues there at all other than 4.1.2 TW, which is as we all know, horrid.
I wiped cache / davlik and factory reset, and installed 10.2 last night, tried it with my car this morning and getting worse issues than 10.1, it pairs fine but when I go to make a call it fails then displays "Emergency Calls Only". If I disconnect my Bluetooth, call works fine. The call actually makes it through before the ECO message, it gets 1 ring on the persons phone, mine doesn't even ring out.
Searching brought no answers and it seems I am the only one with this issue
Helps.
Regards,
feeps

Hi feeps,
You'd be surprised/relieved to know that you are not the only one experiencing the issues you mentioned. I have gone through exactly the same scenario as you, and I am totally frustrated as there is no solution in sight. I have tried many android 4.3 roms and they all behave in the same faulty way, which leads me to believe that there is something wrong or incompatible with Jelly Bean 4.3 Bluetooth stack. Right now I am back with stock 4.1.2 and I am waiting for Samsung's release of the new 4.3 rom.
BTW, I am using Parrot car system for communication, which one is yours?
I'm having the same problem. Mine is an issue with My VW Passat's Bluetooth connection and streaming music. I'm really hoping that this is something that is resolved soon hopefully because my only option for CM is 10.2 since I'm on the Verizon HTC One.
I also saw on some other threads that this may be an issue with the Wifi and Bluetooth bands (2.4Ghz) interfering with each other. I'm going to try to turn off my wifi on my drive to work tomorrow and see if that helps the audio stuttering at all.

I am using the built in Vauxhall Insignia software. I have found that 4.3 TW Bluetooth works fine with it, so it isn't a 4.3 bluetooth issue...
Did you get any luck in getting to the bottom of this?

Hi -- Ever since the OTA to Android 4.1.2, I'm seeing my Galaxy Nexus trying to get a GPS lock for no apparent reason. It will happen on start-up (even with no mapping application running) and will stay on until I either reboot the phone or uncheck "GPS satellites" under the "Location access" setting. Is anyone else seeing this? Or have any idea why this would be happening? It wasn't an issue on 4.1.1, and it started immediately when the phone rebooted after the upgrade.

Well, yes and no -- I didn't figure anything out, but the problem hasn't happened for a few days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't come back! When last it happened, I powered the phone off and then restarted, and all seemed OK.
It could be Google now trying to use the GPS to better track your location. I keep GPS off unless in use so I can't say I've experienced this.

I think it does it in case of starting a navigation app. Try turning it on only when needed and you will save some battery
Can somebody tell me how to fix the GPS location? It can't lock me... I tried the uncheck-check google locations but with no result Thought 4.1.2 will fix it but it didn't :crying:
Pull the battery, 1 minute.

you have tried to disable "google now"? the cards can be
charge your phone completely, unplug it, reboot it.
let the magic happen and the mysterious GPS locking procedure happen. after some time, jump into settings -> battery. check all listed apps for usage of GPS, like in the screenshot below...

And after doing that, what... still no lock. GPS Status app cannot get a lock... got few GPS satellites with 22 to 29 beside them. Is that the strength of the signal?
I'm running the Lab Rats v2.3 rom with Persues alpha36 kernel and MA7 Baseband Modem. A few days ago I started having a strange issue with having full wifi or mobile data 4g signal, but nothing was connecting to the network. Restarting the phone would get connection for a couple of minutes until everything loads and then would end, even though still showing full signal. In Settings-About-Phone Status under Network it showed Unknown instead of Sprint, all other info was correct. I tried updating PLR and Profile, but it didn't work. I then did ##SCRTN# (##72786#), still didn't fix connection problems and Network still read Unknown instead of Sprint.
Had to full wipe and reflash the rom, then connectivity started working but still Network Unknown. Again did tried ##SCRTN# but nothing.
Even though I get wifi and mobile data, problem is when I try to purchase apps through Google Play Market via Bill my Sprint Account, it says cannot verify network or something along those lines.
Again this started a few days ago, and all was good prior. The dev who posted Lab Rats told me that the rom has nothing to do with network connectivity, so I was hoping someone here can help me out with any suggestions or a fix.
Thanks

I think its a problem with rom because I have the same issue .I flash a stock rooted or any other tw rom and everything is fine .let the dev know may be he will be able to fix it
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Yea it is a prob with the rom. I flashed a different rom and the Network read Sprint again, then I flashed back to the updated version of Lab Rats and same problem. He told me network issue isnt the roms fault, and to try to flash a different modem, but thats not it either since I tried and it didnt work. I think maybe something, a system apk or something was left out thats why it doesnt read the network... I know he removed VPNDialogs.apk which is why vpn apps like Tunnel Bear or OpenVPN don't work, but I let him know and he will probably include it in his updater for those who need it to download and install. So I will compare other roms with Lab Rats for some sort of system apk that sounds like it has to do with network and install it and see what happens.

synergy rom and perseus kernel
I have a similar issue. I am running the synergy rom and using the perseus kernel. I can get data just fine, but I cn not make or receive voice calls. The calls will go through but no sound will be played. The sound works fine in all other conditions. Doing a factory reset fixes this, but only temporarily.

Im having the same issue as you, i am running whomp rom with the latest perseus kernel, it just began yesterday and i ahve tried everything from restoring to a back up, to ##786#. I am lost... no calls can be heard but the call does go through.
As you can see, the rom isnt necessarily the issue as two other roms report the same things.
Usually prl updates or system updates will fix any network connectivity issue.
The unknown network has nothing to do with anything. Its cosmetic and hasn't effected anything other than to remove Sprint from the dropdown bar.
Its quite possible the reason you guys were told thats not the issue is because its not. We, as all the other people here try to make everything as smooth an workable as possible.

check out our rom website, http://updater.team-nocturnal.com/labrats/
I have the same report of unknown and haven't had any data issues at all and I've been running labrats for several months.. No matter how many roms I flash, I end up back to labrats because it truly does just work and if something does happen to be broke, the devs are on top of it..

What PRL are you guys on? We had TERRIBLE issues that I thought at one point may be the phone but turned out to be a network issue. PRL 2000 has fixed most of that for me.

Over the passed couple of weeks I've been noticing an issue more and more that once had seldom bothered me. I'm currently the owner of a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Cyanogenmod 10.1. For some odd reason, my data connection indicator will indicate that I have usually 2-3 (blue) bars of 3G, but will never actually connect to the internet until I force it to. Let me explain.
Recently I've been involved in a few Group MMS chats with people from work and what not. For whatever reason, I will only receive other's messages in large chunks. Messages (sometimes full conversations) that were sent over the period of a few minutes, all arrive out of sync at the same time; blowing up my phone with notifications. I then have to sort through and piece together the conversation to see what actually happened. I've noticed that 90% of the time my phone will be sitting there with the signal strength indicator that looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I won't receive any MMS messages. Then I noticed that if I launch an app that requires data my signal strength indicator will look like this:
And Voila! I'll receive all the messages I missed since I last sent my own MMS or launched Facebook or something. Why must I manually force the phone to connect to data (show the upsteam/downstream arrows) when it indicates that it's constantly connected to 3G? It's as if the data goes into some kind of sleep mode and then never wakes up until I force it to.
Please note: This occurs while sitting in the same spot (no just while on the move, which would be a bit more acceptable). I've tried updating my PRL and Data Profile. I've obviously rebooted the phone multiple times over the passed few days. All Mobile Data and Data Roaming toggles are ON (Unlimited data and roaming, so why not?). Network Mode is set to: LTE/CDMA. Wi-Fi does not seem to rectify or exacerbate the issue. I have not touched the Cyanogenmod default APNs.
What is causing this? Anyone else having the same issue?

Carrier fails but replies "oh yes, it most certainly works on our side, must be something wrong with your device. please return it for warranty".
Ok, tried this in a couple of Marshmallow ROM threads and found just one other person who experiences the same, so I decided to make a thread and maybe find a solution or at least the cause for my problem.
I tried several new 20A Marshmallow ROMs on my H815 EUR G4 and always get the same slow Wi-Fi speeds problem. I notice it the most in Google Play And Youtube load times but also in the browser. When I fire up YouTube I usually have to wait between 5 and 10 seconds for the content to show up. Similiar is with Google Play when I have to wait for the graphics, app thumbs and stuff to show up.
As soon as I switch to Mobile data it flies, and yes, I tried it on another Wi-Fi spots. it's the same. When I go back to lollipop it flies. WTF?
One thing I notice is when my phone on MM first connects to Wi-Fi connection it briefly shows an exclamation mark which disappears in a few seconds.
If someone has any idea what this could be causing, i would appreciate it.
Thanks
I would guess it has to do with DNS requesting, maybe on wifi you have custom DNS servers ? (which you can't change on mobile, you're bound to your carrier's ones)
maybe also your router quite does not like seeing you phone with some settings (firewall ? other ?) bound to the lolipop version of the phone, and just after that the same MAC adress with other settings (MM) => have you tried to reboot / reset your router ?

I have just installed MM, and I experience 'hangs' when on Wi-Fi.
Same issue here - any idea on how to fix that?
Update: the problem only seems to occur, when Bluetooth is on *confused*
WiFi is just bloody awful on this phone
Same here. It's annoying!
Tried with several Wifi-networks.
Did 3 hard-resets. After these wifi is ok for 2-3 days. then broken again. Ping-times at 2-3 seconds (!).
Please see my other post here.

No problems for me, it works fine. Stock 6.0, locked bootloader.
Some issues may appear if the router changes the channel, but otherwise it's fine.

As said before. Disabling Bluetooth (for a while) fixed this for me.
Since weeks now no problems.
I got my S4 a couple days before. It is an LTE version, but I disabled 4G connection temporarily.
Yesterday, I noticed that, in some cases (maybe most of the time), after a long time of sleep, I could not get any notifications from the internet, I test with GMAIL and outlook, also WeChat, and WhatsApp.
And once I turn the screen, the notifications jumps out.
Does S4 turn off wifi in sleeping mode?
I used to have this problem with my phone, sony XZP, and I have after I set the "WIFI always on", it seems Ok.
I can't find wifi always on options in my S4's setting.
Does anyone have this same issue? And any suggestion to solve it?
thanks.
I have the same thing, non LTE model, just Wi-Fi version. When screen turns on, all the notifications pops up.
Same here, LTE model, WIFI disconnects after a few minutes.
I believe the WIFI is turned off during screen is off --- when I unlock the screen if I left wechat open before lock, wechat shows "network unavailable" or something like that, although the WIFI icon on the status bar is shown correctly.
I have a WiFi issue on mine, have sent it in to Samsung once already and they sent it back saying it was fine.
Mine will lose connection to WiFi completely and will sit forever searching for a network.
I have to reboot it in order to get it to connect again.
I'm going to send it back to Samsung and request a new one.
The pics are of how long I waited before rebooting it last night after getting it back from Samsung yesterday.
I have to take s3's and one has the same issue.
