[SOLVED] HERM200 Buttons ko

Hi @all,
I've got a BIG problem!
without ANY reason the:
MAIL front button
Start menu front button
OK front button
Left & rigth soft key
Answ & Hangup... buttonS
do not answ.
Also the keyboard go in crazy...
1) Test
Hard resetting (L&R Soft keys and reset key) -> The phone go in reset mode, asking for R or X
2) Test
dismounting HERM200 to verify if some connector or flat cable is not ok -> everithing is on his own set...
SOME SUGGESTIONS?

After a long and desperate period during while the strong chose to buy a new device... THIS MORING, WATCHING MOTO GP...
The desperate trying: Double Hard Reset.
1) Hard Reset TYTN
2) when it ask to press SPACE, Hard Reset again...
Now my tytn is OK!

This isn't clear. Did you actually *perform* the hard reset (by pressing R)? If not, this should be your first step.

I do not need perform the hard reset.
I do this to test the soft keys.

I've been having a similar problem, the green dial button on my phone does not work at all.
I think my problem is most likely a faulty pcb (new one on order from cnn.cn), I'll let you know if it fixes the problem.
I've tried numerous hard resets and flashes, and that did nothing to fix my problem.
But thats the least of my worries right now, my phone is plagued with the disappearing radio issue at the moment (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=304364) so its of no use at all to me.
Hopefully we can figure out how to fiix this issue, let me know if you have any success.

Actually, If they DO work to get you to the hard reset, but do NOT work when you are in the main OS, I would suggest trying a hard reset, as It seems to be a software-caused problem.

I had this problem when I first installed Black 3.0. Soft resetting made no difference. However, I simply opened my hermes hardware keyboard and closed it again and the buttons came back to life. No problem since.

I've dismonted completly my Hermes... remounted and the problem persist!
Now, sometime the down button open the messages application.
If my idea is correct, the problem is exclusively software.
Im going to downgrade radio.
Actually I've installed Black 3.x with 1.41.00.10

what software do you have installed. because i noticed on some today themes i would have that problem. try going to the default today theme and use sktools to do a clean function. That will get rid of any registry keys causing a conflict. hope that helps

I have the same issue. I am sure it's not software- have flashed a different ROM etc, removed the battery, and other things with no result. I have a feeling it's a hw issue- the buttons suddenly came to life, but after keeping the phone in my hot&sweaty jeans pocket during a hot day, they stopped working again. I've also noticed several people complain about this issue. I will try to get it fixed on warranty. I'd be interested to know if anyone else suspects MOISTURE as a possible cause???

I live in Sicily... here we have ALL hot days!
But i've the same idea. Later i try to dry the phone using a phon (hairdryer in Italy)...

Hm. Perhaps not. As far as moisture goes, it COULD have such an effect, corroding contacts or if applied to the PCB, create currents where there shouldn't be any. But in any case it seems to be hardware related. I am really angry about this because I really like the phone otherwise... Now it's nearly unusable. Maybe its just the circuit board that is poorly done.

Revmark, when you say you opened the keyboard, what do you mean? Do you mean you slid out the keyboard, and closed it? Or do you mean you took the Herm apart?

Data does not work on Nokia Lumia 900

Basically my Lumia 900 will not connect to the Internet even though I have full bars of LTE. This is not the first time it happened. It happened a few days ago and I rebooted it a few times and it started working again. This time I have rebooted it over 20 times changed the sim and it is still not working. I went to the AT&T store and the employees said they sent back over 7 defective lumias with the same issue.
I took out the sim and put it in my new iPad and LTE was working fine. I hope this defective is not spread across so many more devices or there will be a lot of unhappy customers.

Hey there. This might sound a little basic but do a master reset, and one more master reset immediately after. I had that problem for maybe a week and its a weird problem with COU provisioning. Also send the COU team an email about the issue, they might do some stuff on the back end as well for you.you are an art employee, right? How else would you have this phone

Happened to me too. I just popped the sim card out while the phone was on. Put the card back in and then turned the phone off and then back on. Hopefully that fixes it for you. Did for me.
Nokia needs to put a soft reset button combination like the iPhone has since you can't do a battery pull. A soft reset is needed at some point in time on all smartphones. Not having a method to do it is a big error IMO.

thats what I thought too....but without the 900...couldnt repro

Hold power button for a few seconds and swipe down to turn off/soft reset. Or go to settings app; under settings go to 'About' and push 'reset phone' for hard reset.

They are looking for a reboot option, not a full reset. Something similar to holding the home and power key on an iPhone.
This is the first WP with non removable battery so I haven't had to do it before. I'm sure there's a way. I know if you hold the volume down, camera and power when it's off it will restore the phone.

We've been getting serious issues too. I'm getting a new lumia tomorrow. Ive tried everything.

That's not a restore sequence. That will only place the phone in bootloader. If connected to a PC, and, a valid backup exists, a retire is possible. But that combination does not initiate a restore.
The only thing I've heard is extended holding of power key, ~10 seconds, initiates a reboot....not a reset or restore

If you hold the power key down for about 15 seconds, the device will power down. I had a freeze during the initial setup on my 900....that worked for me....

The Lumia 800 also has a non-removable battery. Here's how to do a hard and soft reset using hardware keys on that device. May work on the 900:

Those keys don't work on the 900.....Both combinations produce the same impact from a device that is power on...that is....off. The first action is the power slider....which can turn off the device. However, continue holding that combination will bring you to a OFF position. The same thing occurs with just holding the Power button for 10 seconds or so.
from an off position, I could not get those keys to react.

My data has been working great all day. Download a on of apps, browsed quite a bit to set up my bookmarks and downloaded music from Zune. My data speeds were around 25mbps all day.

Lock Screen of Death (+ Some)

Ok guys, so I'm having an issue with my Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Whenever the screen times out, or you lock it, the screen will not come back on. The buttons will light up, but the screen is unresponsive. Hold the power button for a reboot and it reboots, screen works fine until the next lock. So obviously first thing, wiped everything, and reloaded Hypderdrive, only to get the same issue. So I go in again to recovery, and while I'm doing some research, TWRP times out and the screen goes black, and again, I'm unable to "wake" the device. Now I'm thinking hardware, but the power button is being recognized to lock it, so it should be recognized to unlock it as well and it is because the button lights come on. I've gone in, did a complete wipe including /system and /data and I'm currently trying to load a new rom to my microsd card to load, but the screen timed out again and I have to reboot the device back into recovery each time to get the screen to work. I'm pretty sure the root method I used, voided my warranty, so sending it in is probably not an option. When I reboot into download to check the status, It just says Downloading... Do not turn off target!! and I see no information in the top left of the screen. Anyone have any idea as to what could be causing the screen to do this? I'm kinda lost at this point! Thanks in advance.
P.S. So I was able to get into Download, and found my Current Binary is Custom, my System Status is Custom, and my Warranty Bit is 1, so I'd assume warranty is out of the option.
P.P.S I got a new rom loaded everything flashed fine, booted, let it set, when the screen timed out, again won't turn on. I can almost say 100% it's not a rom/Kernel issue. But beyond that I'm lost!

So I was messing with it some more after work today and found a few more pieces to the puzzle. After rebooting it in a bright room, I found the screen is on, but the backlight isn't. The screen is usable and responsive. Second thing is the brightness slider no longer works, it's just one brightness level and can't be adjusted. I've read online, that there maybe a loose ribbon cable, so I'm going to look into that alittle bit. I'm really hoping the backlight and LCD aren't shot! Again if anyone has any experience or ideas, please let me know!

SO I was using Triangle Away to try to clear the flash counter, as I was filling out a service request form from Samsung, and after the reboot the screen was brighter. I then tried the brightness slider..it worked and locked and unlocked it and the screen came back on. IDK what fixed it (maybe Triangle Away????) but it's working now! I'm hoping it sticks! I hope no one else has this issue, but maybe this will help!

There is suprisingly little to find about this issue, so that's why I've made this quick post.
I had this issue as well, but after flashing the stock modem (NON-HLOS.bin) it was resolved. (fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin)
Currently I'm on CM11S XNPH05Q with stock kernel, OnePlus One.
I think it had to do with me going back from CM12 (Lollipop-based) to CM11S (KitKat-based).

I'm sorry man, but I have no experience with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014...
I tried to search for a solution, but I couldn't find much since there are all these different versions of the Note 10.1.
I think you have to use Odin to flash custom zips and such for your device.
I couldn't find the modem for the P601 (NON-HLOS.bin), but you could open a new thread asking for it?
I really hope you'll find a solution.
Also, have you tried a factory reset?
If you haven't done anything like rooting, flashing costom ROMs etc, your warranty shouldn't be void and you could return your device.
That's what I'd do.

Sorry buddy, I really can't. Since, my tablet had been damaged and I had flashed roms since. I can't remember what version I was using. Triangle away apk can be found from a Google search but I don't have the apk for the one I used. Sorry again! I know it's a PITA!

I just had this problem some days ago, when i accidentaly dropped my sm p601. It was working fine so i wasnt worried at that time.
Next day it presented the exact symptoms that you guys described. The screen couldn't be turned on after being turned off, brightness controls not working.
I realized it could be a hardware problem because of the drop that the device suffered, then i stumbled in this topic where our friend scoot05redss mentioned:

Well, since i live in Brazil and we have little to none authorized customer service support from Samsung, i decided to open the device.
(I searched for a disassembly video in youtube. There are one or two avaliable)
It happens that the mentioned LCD ribbon cable is the first thing to pop up when you open the device, so i decided to give it a try, and guess what, it worked.
I just opened the device, lifted the cable lock (that black plastic thing that sits upon the cable) and i gently moved the cable inside the conector (I didn't even had to remove it).
Closed, turned on, everything working as before.
Ps.: Its kinda hard to open the device without the appropriate tool shown in the video, but i managed to open it with a knife, taking maximum care not to leave marks in the screen (the silver frame however couldnt be spared from some scratches.

I can confirm that disconnecting the LCD ribbon cable while the unit is on, reconnecting it, and then rebooting the device fixed the issue for me. My wife accidentally knocked it off her nightstand and while using it during the middle of the next day the screen suddenly faded to black. After noticing that the screen was still on but the back light wasn't working, I popped it open and tried disconnecting the battery but didn't try the LCD ribbon, didn't think that'd make a difference. But I'm glad that's all it was!

Ive got this issue on a grand prime sm-g361h as soon as i lock the screen or it times out thats it, doesn't turn back on until i hard reboot it. super frustrating.. going to try flash a modem to see if it fixes

Ok Issue Was MODEM i dd modem.img to modem partition from another phone exact same that working and its now 100% up n running only issue now is i have duplicate IMIE numbers

Color issue after screen off
My Note 10.1 2014 (P605) is ruining smoothly for 3.5+ years without much trouble. Now, it's screen is giving some color issue. Tab boots fine and colours shown correctly. Once screen is off, it start to invert (not sure whether the correct word) colours. Later I observed screen not switching on but accepting touch commands.
I tried color invert setting, it seems not effective. Flex cable was not loose but sometimes reconnecting resolved temporally. Re-flashed the OS but issue came up after few days. This may seems like screen fault, but screen working fine at boot till screen off.
Does anyone have similar experience or advice to help me out.

I'm pretty sure the root method I used, voided my warranty, so sending it in is probably not an option. When I reboot into download to check the status, It just says Downloading... Do not turn off target!! and I see no information in the top left of the screen. Anyone have any idea as to what could be causing the screen to do this? I'm kinda lost at this point! Thanks in advance.
P.S. So I was able to get into Download, and found my Current Binary is Custom, my System Status is Custom, and my Warranty Bit is 1, so I'd assume warranty is out of the option.
P.P.S I got a new rom loaded everything flashed fine, booted, let it set, when the screen timed out, again won't turn on. I can almost say 100% it's not a rom/Kernel issue. But beyond that I'm lost!

I was been displayed dark screen (Death screen) by shock on road. Because I put my tablet Samsung note 10.1 P601 (2014 edition) in basket of motorbike. These are solutions:
- Case 1:
If dark screen and the buttons are light up like this question then you need unplug only LCD cable inside tablet and plug again.
- Case 2:
If Death screen and it's no light then you need plug and replug power cable and LCD cable inside table.

Living after few months with this problem I can conclude following.
1. It is very difficult to find a pattern for screen to go pink or black. However, I noticed that problem comes frequently when it was used by my baby.
2. Disconnecting and reconnecting LCD cable temporarily resolve problem every time. May be hoangctm is more accurate on procedure.
3. I use this tablet every day. 45min video, 2 x 15min streaming and 1 h reading. Steady use of tablet does not give problems.
4. It is possible to replace LCD flex cable without dismantling screen and this is my next step.

I was also experiencing this issue. What would happen is that my Samsung Galaxy Note 14.1 would work well after a reset but as soon as it locked you couldn't see the screen.
I tried the solution posted in this forum. I opened up the tablet and repositioned the LCD ribbon cable while the screen was active. The tablet is now working well. I can activate the tablet properly after the screen has locked. Thank you all.

LG G3 d855 doesn't turn on

hello guys.
I'm using a LG G3 D855 device. today my device works fine. but in the evening i picked up my phone and press the power button to turn it display on. it didn't turn on the display when i press the power button. so then i remove my the battery of the device and then put it into my device again. then i tried to turn on my device by pressing the power button. it didn't power on again. so then i plug my device to the charger. so the red color LED light is didn't turn on and the device doesn't notices me the phone is on charging..
please let me know what can i do for this and how can i fix it.

is your phone rooted? i have this issue as well but after i take out the battery the phone turns on.
take out the batery and hold the power button for 15 sec, then see if that work

yes the device is already rooted
i have unplug the battery before so it works before. but that didn't works today

strange, what ROM were you running prior to this? Usuaully a battery pull should do the fix? Did you phone die and lost all of its battery prior to this?

Connect your phone to the computer and see if device manager recognizes the phone.

i can see the device is detected on my device manager. it shows the device name as QHUSB_BULK. the device shows me like this

I'm using a stock ROM that updated to android 5.0 i installed it by flashing the zip file. i tried to pull my battery and put it again then tried to turn on. but the device is still not responding. yesterday in the evening my phone works fine. i did nothing. i don't know how this **** thing happened

Take out battery,connect phone to charger,you should see battery icon onscreen,put battery back in,phone starts charging,switch on.

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini not booting

Hey All,
I was recently in a rush to switch off my phone but accidentally turned it on again...
So instead of waiting all the way through the start-up when the Samsung logo appeared I pulled out the battery and put it back in so it would switch off.
I only tried to switch my phone back on later at night, and realised it didn't switch on. I thought the battery was low so I left it to charge for a few hours...
Went back to check, the power charging indicator hadn't shown up and the phone didn't start either.
The wall power, plug and USB cable are fine as I tried with other devices but my phone just won't start
Its been two days and it still hasn't turned back on....
PLEASE HELP!!!

You've bricked it, probably.
Is there any sign of life? Can you boot into download or recovery?
You'll need to follow one of the bricked threads .......

Not that i can tell, tried charging no sign
Tried pushing power button and volume button with wall power and w/o but it wouldn't do anything.
I think that is what recovery mode is...
But what is download?
Also bricked is pretty serious....
Do u think the battery thing caused that?
What can I do now

Doesn't sound very promising. Sounds like a hard brick.
recovery is home/vol up/power
download is home/vol down/power
but if it's not showing any signs of life it won't be much help.
If you plug it into your PC does Odin detect it?
If not then sending it for jtag repair is your only chance
(unless your battery was run down past the point it can be recharged and that is why it seems dead)

I had a similar situation. No sign of life, no recharging.
However I managed to get it back to life by pulling battery and cable, and putting it back again while holding power (and maybe other buttons) pressed. Had to try some times.

Odin wasn't detecting it....
But
After I tried @sumeruter 's method my phone started vibrating in pulses and my computer said an unidentified device was plugged in

Initially there was just pulsating vibration but no visuals but after 30 times.......
My phone showed the Samsung logo and booted as normal.

I've not found a one click solution, unfortunately.
The closest to a one click solution is doing a nandroid backup, I use TWRP. However it's not easy to extract single folders to reinstall photos or similar but is good to replace a whole chunk of your system if your phone is not working properly.
I use "my phone explorer" to sync all contacts, calendars, photos etc locally, ie without Google. It will also sync your photos, unlike most backup apps & works with Firefox & Lighting calendar, unlike most backup apps. I also use EasyBackup app. for added safety of contacts etc. but it, like must apps only backsup stock browsers bookmarks, calendars etc. Music I always only pull from my PC so that's backed up. The hard stuff is photos etc from mesaging/chat apps like Signal etc I basically do the following,

So yes I make it hard for myself as I don't just back everything up to Google, just some things.

The something must be QLOAD_USB.
You have a hard bricked phone. Look for a debrick image for your phone and put it in sd card. Check the forum, you can find it.
I had the same problem, I can share the debrick file if you need it.
What is your phone model? and make?
