Change other country's firmware - LG Optimus G Pro

Hello.
I've got G Pro E988 Thailand version. Thailand firmware of E988 can't support 4G LTE. I'm currently live in Russia and I need LTE. I read Spec of E988 and it can support LTE 1800 / 2600. So, can I flash other countries' firmware and can I get LTE 1800 / 2600? For example CIS firmware or Hong Kong firmware for E988. If I can flash, please give me some instructions for that. Do I need to root and install CWM or TWRP recovery to flash these firmwares? My current condition is stock Rom and unrooted. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply hyelton! I asked to the LG Technical Support Center from Thailand and they answer me like that "Spec G Pro E988 can support 4G 1800/2600 but Thailand doesn't have firmware for support this version". So, I asked. I saw Pure Stock Rooted and debloated ROM here. Can I flash that Rom on my E988 Thailand Version? If I can flash, I think it can cause baseband problem. How can I flash my correct baseband?

[Q] N7105 & N7105T Difference?

Hi I'm in Australia, and about to buy a Note 2 LTE. But there are two International models, namely the "N7105" and the "N7105T".
Does anyone know what the difference is, as I wouldn't want to get the wrong one.
I tried looking online, but to no avail
I know most 4G providers here run on LTE1800mHz (/B3?)
Any help would be REALLY appreciated!
The N7105 has three LTE bands: 800, 1800 and 2600 mHz
The N7105T has two LTE bands: 1800 and 2600. It doesn't have the 800 mHz band.

Yes I guess. Only n7105 800Mhz cant work on n7105t Roms.
It looks like another difference is firmware.
I have the N7105T (from Telstra in Australia) and just rooted using the CF Auto Root package for the N7105. No problems there, but when I try and use Triangle Away it says "Cannot find hidden partition. Are you not using ICS?" I'm using 4.1.1 which came installed. I have heard of others with the T version having to flash the N7105 firmware, then Triangle Away works. I just hope that firmware isn't needed for anything important...

Hey mate. i just picked up my n7105t from telstra & i am wanting to root it straight away. Are you still having the "Cannot find hidden partition. Are you not using ICS?" issue? If not, how did you fix it?
I only just picked up the device from, waiting for the battery to reach its first full charge & then i'll root.
Hey vinpor - I have very good news for you! Triangle Away has been updated with support for GT-N7105T! I installed the update and tried to run TA again, no problems with the updated app, it's all sweet! (Although I have not verified the binary count myself... but I got to the point where I would rather have root, I don't care so much about warranty/binary etc. anymore.)
Hi all,
I too have the Telstra N7105T and would like to flash the N7105 Stock Rom to it.
Just wondering if this is a problem and where I can get a copy of the latest ROM for it
M0381U5
Hey M0381U5,
Give this a try: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7105T
Never had to restore a stock ROM before... all the best!
Carrier Branded to Stock
Thanks for the link,
I am actually after the stock international ROM for the N7105,
which is on this link, thanks heaps
to put on my N7105T to kill the carrier bloat.
But also want to be sure that if this is even possible?
and the the Stock International ROM wont kill my specific N7105T
Thanks for your helps
Cheers
I have been using LiquidSmooth 4.2.2 for a little bit now, no problems at all. So I think you'd be fine using the stock international ROM. Just make sure you backup your important files (IMEI, NV, EFS) and get your recovery setup. Pretty hard to actually brick your phone unless you pull the battery while it's installing a ROM or something.

Guys Quick Question... about the NItro and the LU6200 its kind of an emergency

I bought the Korean phone LU6200 but it does not work with my att sim card.... Can I make it work if I flash a ROM from the Nitro on the LU6200???

Any news on E975 Kitkat ?

does anyone know about the release date for this ?? fed up of waiting...
You could have asked in the already numerous threads about the KitKat update. In stead of making a different thread.
But to answer your question: nobody exactly knows, not even the different LG devisions. When I called LG BeNeLux they didn't even confirm that the E975 will receive the update.

I would have if the other threads meant for this weren't talking about how to install the ported ROM from F series on E975...just wanted a cleaner thread where ppl can update any news of when it will be released
^Yes to that! There are so many threads for KK update, but they are flooded with information, news, instructions about f180 l/s/k.

Does LG have no idea of how many international optimus G phones it has sold to give it some priority over other phones..?
why is it taking so long after announcing the release of Kitkat for Optimus G to actually reach out to general public..
Has LG yet confirmed that KitKat will be coming to all OG's? In my country LG tells me that they don't know anything about an update. Only the SFR OG will be getting the update this month.

I have a question: from what I know, the E977 variant (sold here in Brazil and some south american countries), only differ from the international E975 model in LTE band (Brazil currently uses 2600 MHz and 700 MHz is under testing).
I don't believe LG will release KK 4.4.2 update here, so if the E975 model gets an update and mine does not, is it possible to flash E975 KK 4.4.2 firmware and then just flash a baseband/modem package to make it compatible with LTE frequency in my country? Thanks in advance.

A leaked email from LG brasil hinted us that update is coming in July. The same email has hinted the month of the update for G2 and it accurate. Also the Brazilian LG site affirms that the OG be updated.

LG has always confirmed on your website thats the update is comming...
Just check the page of OG on lge.com.br and you will see "Guaranted upgrade to kitkat".
And will dont need wait for 975kk rom. You can flash the F180K sling 2.1 rom whiout any problems. Just bacckup your modem and the EFS partition and you will be safe.
Beleave-me, im using Sling right now on our E977 from Brasil

Well, I'm glad LG will release KK update for E97x models. The info about a update on E977 page at LG website must be new then. I've already backed up modem (and created a flasheable update) and the 3 EFS partitions via Freegee (I have a freegee folder on PC as well), so I'll try this ROM.
Thanks for the reply, really good to see LG showing respect towards the consumer.
I believe that LG has already released the E975 updates to the carriers for testing. SFR France reported that they were already testing the E975 kitkat build. (See source below.) They included a photo, and said the update should come in June.

The version numbering is different between models and regions, depending on the initial version of the release. V20a might be updated to newer subversions (b/c/whatever), but there will be no V30x for E975.

In some countries it comes as v30,in Brazil will be "v20... ", as it already came with official jellybean when released, the number and letter of the versions is totally variable from place to place, and I believe this French version will come with what v30d from Asia have and maybe even with some more stuff.
I'm agreeing with you, just making a point here, lol.

Changing to another region stock rom

Hi,
i do not know computers or mobile phones that well, recently i got my G3, its the korean version F400S.
i notice theres lots of bloatware , just wondering is it possible to flash to a different region stock rom like the D855 HongKong international version.
and yes i do have the 32gb version.
And if its possible, can i still get updates on the phone?
thank you
You cannot flash firmware for one model number with firmware for another model number. Any D855 software will not work on an F400 and vice versa.

No LTE setting in network mode?

Hey my g3 doesnt have lte as a option in the preferred network mode setting. ( Settings>networks>tethering & networks>mobile networks>network mode). Mine only has 2 options GSM/WCDMA auto and WCDMA. I have seen alot of people have this problem because the phones are coming from asia or other parts of the world. How do i get it to have lte as an option in the settings?
Please help thanks

Its the d855
It should have all 4 options because that is international version.
You can always flash latest stock firmware (V10N Kitkat, or V10A Lollipop). That should solve it.
Or some custom rom.
