DevDB Feedback, Bugs, and Feature Requests - About xda-developers.com

Post 'em here!

whoops nvm, didnt read the portal post fully.

I am confused in all users and all devices. Seems a less no of device have access to this so what is the point of all users?

Hmm. Not bad. Need update threads.

It's not for ALL users. Very poor title!

"It’s live for the most popular devices, and will be active for all future devices added to XDA. Over time we plan to add new features to DevDB and will be fixing bugs on a continual basis. If you spot a bug or have a feature request, post it in this thread."
http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/xda-devdb-is-live-for-all-users/
OP please change the title.

Feature Request:
The ability to use just the tracker for downloads! I'd like to webseed and use my seedbox to seed a torrent using the XDA tracker, but manage downloads myself.

I'm not able to add screenshots to my project: forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=468
When I add them in "manage screenshots", they simply appear as attachments in the discussion section.

Isn't there any chance to get this for older devices? I'm deving for the Motorola Droid Razr and it would be very nice to use devdb.

+1... Is there some sort of criteria a Legacy / Low Activity Device should fulfill in order to get DevDb ?
I would like to nominate : HTC Explorer / Pico to be part of this program.
It has a pretty decent activity rating and huge number of ROMs , source built as well as themed, for a low end 2011 device.
What's there in its forums :
Achievements of this "Legacy" phone :
Kernel 3.0.x
CyanogenMod 10.2
CyanogenMod 10.1
CyanogenMod 10
CyanogenMod 9
CyanogenMod 7
A huge list of AOSP ROMs like Carbon , AOKP , PAC etc
Boot2Gecko
Dual Boot
Sense 4.0a
Sense 4.1
MIUI upto v5

I would also like to see DevDB activated for the LG Nitro HD http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1445
It's not what would be considered a highly active device compared to Nexus devices or latest Samsung device but there are still a few of us dev'ing regularly for it.
Thanks.

Its like, I asked a mod to move the General Section and I had to transform it into a discussion thread. When I edited the thread title using DevDB is went back to the Original Android Dev Section (where I posted earlier)
EDIT:
Typo: it*

Another question, in the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus thread I'm able to create a new project, but I can't import an existing one, it says that DevDB isn't enabled for that device! (If you need it, this is the thread id I want to import in devDB: 2405359)
Is it supposed to behave like that or is it a bug?

[Q] Tap2wake?

Hello,
I looked at the Z2 features a while ago and hoped we'd get some of them too. But unfortunately, the KitKat update didn't include tap2wake
Is this feature possible to get on the Z1 Compact? Please help I have the bootloader unlocked, btw.
Regards,
Random Username
I really hope somenone makes double tap to wake possible for z1c . It's really useful.

Tap2wake is kernel related, maybe future Z2 owners would port it or it could be included in a next official build
yeah i'm waiting for that too... that's a good feature to have. i'm surprised only LG has implemented it across it's phone lineup
Ι would say that tap2wake is a must for devices like ours that have ONLY ONE button. Apart from the fact that it is easier to wake your device this way , it also prevents the inevitable wear of the Power button.
hope someone starts a petition to sony hehehe
they gave Z2 that functionality so i'm thinkiing its a matter of time for us

Yeah, upgraded to 4.4.2 and no "tap to wake"... so disappointed :crying:
Until now Doomlord,Androguide Fr and Faux made custom kernels for Xperia Z1 with this feature implemented.Doomlord has no plans to support Xperia Z1 Compact,as he don`t own this device, Faux and Androguide Fr said nothing about supporting this phone.So...we have to wait until someone ports the kernels from Z1 or creates one for this one.I`m also a big fan of DT2W function.I can`t wait for this.

Many android phone users don't even know about the existence of this feature.Last week I have asked some developers if they can try to make a kernel with this feature for Xperia Z1 Compact but the answer was, in less words "NO". Too bad because it`s a very good phone and the similarity with Xperia Z1 is very very big.So the porting, for someone who knowshow to do it,shouldn`t be so difficult.
Unfortunately developing for our phone does not exist comparing to other phones. I very unhappy about it but at least I hope Sony gives us double tap to wake feature.

[Q] Will Xperia S gets Android Lollipop???

Ask yourself this question, is the Kit Kat rom stable on a Sony Xperia S and is all the features working on it with out incident.
Will the Xperia S get Lollipop, you say?
Probably, yes but in a very long time, if not a long time then never...
Most developers have abandoned the Xperia S, Rayman who worked on cm11 and cm10 had discontinued their project. Meaning it's very unlikely unless someone new is going to port it.
It's not the developers fault, but Sony for abandoning their device too soon.
Also ETAs are against the XDA rules. So I'd imagine this thread get closed any time soon.

Thanks bro for the info. [emoji1]
The Xperia Acro S just received a working Lollipop build, it's in very early development stage and there are major issues, BUT IT WORKS! As I said it's for the Acro S but it should be fairly easy to port it to the Xperia S.

This should raise our hopes then. Now that they got it working, then I cant see why we cant port it - I think I saw a post mentioning the developer says it should also boot on the S and that he'll work on it

Hello,
I'm working on it and I have a version up and running on my Xperia S. It seems that billchen1977 work on it too.
I'm new in this forum so I have to prove what I say but I have participate to fix audio issue on Xperia S for AOSP ROM 4.4.4
Keep hope on it

Just for your information, I'm trying to fix an issue with 3g and wifi before publishing the ROM (maybe I will publish it despit of those issues to have some help).
GSM is working but not the data (ip route issue)
Bluetooth is working (file share)
Camera is working except Video recording
fmradio (scan ok but no sound. I hope to fix that with the next build in progress)
audio is fine too
wifi is NOT working.

Sure I will provide a link soon. I have integrated the support of the recovery with fotakernel and I have generate an OTA pacakage.
I will test right now
Prior to this alpha release, source are available on "github.com / mickybart". You can use the repository "android_manifest" with the branch bAOSP-5.0.
PS: Sorry I have less than 10 posts and I'm not able to create external link
Thanks for the info [emoji2]

I finally fixed the wifi issue but I'm still working on the internet issue with GSM.

I will continue to work on my ROM but you should take a look on this one.
It works better than mine. The kernel for 3.4 mako lolipop is released on AOSP and this ROM already integrate some parts of it. billchen1977 is faster than me lol.
I will focus to add new features (recovery, superuser, remove security layer from Exchange Mail etc) and I will integrate the works done by billchen1977 (no need to do the same work twice except to learn ).
